FAQs

Is the Tesla Cybertruck available for sale in Hong Kong?
Not yet. The Tesla Cybertruck is currently only available in the North American market. Tesla Hong Kong has stated that there is currently no production timeline for a right-hand drive version, so the vehicle cannot be registered or sold in Hong Kong, and orders are not being accepted. Enthusiasts in Hong Kong can only view this left-hand drive Cybertruck at exhibitions for now.
What is so special about the Tesla Cybertruck's body?
It is very unique. The Tesla Cybertruck's body is made from monolithic "Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel", which is unpainted. Each steel panel undergoes 30 rounds of high-pressure rolling, achieving extremely high density. It is famously advertised as being able to withstand bullet impacts (9mm caliber) and is resistant to dents. Even its windows are "armor glass" that can withstand the impact of a baseball traveling at 112 km/h.
How powerful is the performance and range of the Tesla Cybertruck?
Very impressive. The version that has been displayed in Hong Kong is the "All-Wheel Drive Dual Motor" model, which produces approximately 600 hp and a staggering 10,080 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. In terms of range (EPA standard), this AWD version can travel approximately 547 km on a full charge, with the battery capacity estimated to be over 120 kWh.
The Tesla Cybertruck is very large – is it difficult to park?
It will be difficult. The Tesla Cybertruck has a massive presence, measuring 5,683 mm (L) x 2,201 mm (W) x 1,791 mm (H), which is significantly larger than standard parking spaces in Hong Kong. Parking in older, tighter car parks will be very challenging. Fortunately, it is equipped with rear-wheel steering capabilities, which helps with manoeuvrability in tight turns, but parking remains a major challenge.
How large are the cargo spaces in the Tesla Cybertruck's bed and front trunk?
It is very large. Its practicality primarily comes from its massive truck bed. The 6 x 4 foot bed has a capacity of 1,897 litres and can hold many large items. It also comes with a power-retractable hard tonneau cover. The front trunk is also very practical, with a capacity of 200 litres and an electronic open/close mechanism. Folding up the rear seat cushions also creates an additional 1,530 litres of storage space.
Can the Tesla Cybertruck tow heavy loads and power a home?
Yes. The Tesla Cybertruck has a very impressive towing capacity, with a maximum towing capacity of 4,990 kg (approx. 5 tons) and a maximum payload of 1,134 kg. Furthermore, it features V2L (Vehicle to Load) capability. The truck bed is equipped with 120V and 240V power outlets, providing up to 11.5 kW of power. This allows you to directly power appliances or even use it as a massive "mobile generator" to power your entire house during a blackout.
What is the driving experience like in the Tesla Cybertruck?
It feels very unique. Firstly, the interior is very minimalist, with all controls handled through the massive 18.5-inch central screen. It's the first Tesla to not have physical gear stalks, with gear selection also done on the screen. The most unique feature is its "Steer-by-Wire" system, where the steering wheel only turns 170 degrees from lock to lock. The steering is very sensitive, requiring only a small input to get a large reaction from the car, which takes some getting used to. However, once you're driving, the vehicle feels very light on its feet, and the standard air suspension provides a comfortable ride.
How extreme is the top-tier "Cyberbeast" version of the Tesla Cybertruck?
Absolutely insane. The most powerful "Cyberbeast" tri-motor version of the Tesla Cybertruck produces a staggering 845 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. Its range (EPA standard) is approximately 515 km. This version is all about performance, being a supercar-level electric pickup truck.
What technology features are inside the Tesla Cybertruck?
The Cybertruck's cabin design is very minimalistic and futuristic. Standard equipment includes an 18.5-inch central touchscreen and a 9.4-inch rear touchscreen for rear passengers to control climate or stream entertainment. The roof is a massive panoramic glass roof, making the cabin feel very airy. For the sound system, higher-end versions are equipped with a premium sound system for an immersive audio experience.
Does seeing a Tesla Cybertruck in Hong Kong mean it will be available for sale soon?
No. The Cybertruck you see in Hong Kong is a "left-hand drive" US model brought in by Tesla Hong Kong for exhibition purposes, solely to demonstrate the brand's technology. Although Tesla Hong Kong has put the Cybertruck's information on its official website, as the company has stated, there is currently no production timeline for a right-hand drive version, so it will not be officially launched in Hong Kong anytime soon, and orders are not being accepted.
