Tesla launches cheaper Model 3 RWD in Hong Kong and Macau, from HK$205,000

Tesla has listed a new entry-level Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive on its Hong Kong and Macau websites. In Hong Kong, it starts at HK$205,000 before tax, while Macau pricing starts from MOP252,000.

Tesla calls it the most affordable Model 3, and says it has the lowest long-term ownership cost in the range.

Single-motor RWD, 572km WLTP range

The entry-level Model 3 uses a single electric motor driving the rear wheels. It does 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds and has a WLTP range of 572km.

A 15.4-inch central touchscreen comes as standard, along with active safety features and basic Autopilot functions.

Tesla's specifications list a maximum Supercharging rate of 175kW, with up to 286km of range added in 15 minutes, based on constant-speed figures.

The car rides on 18-inch wheels, with Stealth Grey as the standard paint colour. Pearl White and Diamond Black cost an extra HK$9,600.

Fabric seats, seven-speaker audio

The new version also drops some of the equipment found on higher-spec Model 3 variants, including ambient lighting, double-glazed windows and some of the interior trim.

The seats are now finished in fabric, but still come with heating, while the steering wheel remains heated. The powered seat adjustment has been removed.

The audio system now has seven speakers, while the exterior mirrors are manually adjusted.

Outside, the front light bar has been removed, and there are also changes to the wheel design and other exterior details.

The quoted prices are before tax and do not include the First Registration Tax. The final tax-inclusive price can be checked through Tesla's online configurator.
