FAQs

What variants of the Lamborghini Huracán have been available in Hong Kong?
The Huracán range in Hong Kong has included multiple variants such as the rear-wheel drive LP 580-2, EVO, EVO Spyder, Performante, Performante Spyder, STO, Tecnica, and the limited off-road version Sterrato. The main model still available as new is the Tecnica, while limited editions like the STO and Sterrato are now discontinued and can only be found on the used market.
What is so special about the Lamborghini Huracán's V10 engine?
The most special thing about the Huracán is its 5.2-litre V10 naturally aspirated engine. It is Lamborghini's last series-produced V10 without turbochargers or hybrid assistance. In the Tecnica, it produces 640 hp; in the STO, it also produces 640 hp; in the high-performance Performante, it produces 640 hp; and in the entry-level rear-drive version, it produces 580 hp. It has a stratospheric redline of 8,500 rpm.
How fast are the acceleration and top speed of the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica?
As the variant currently still available as a new car in Hong Kong, the Huracán Tecnica accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h. It is rear-wheel drive, has 30 hp more than the standard EVO RWD, and has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.15 kg/CV, making it extremely agile through corners.
What are the main differences between the Lamborghini Huracán STO and the Tecnica?
The STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) is the most extreme track-focused model, known as a "road-legal race car". It is 43 kg lighter, has 53% more downforce than the Performante, and has extremely stiff suspension, making it a bumpy ride for daily driving. The Tecnica sits between the EVO RWD and the STO. It borrows the STO's engine and some of its aerodynamic elements, but its suspension is tuned to be slightly more comfortable and suitable for road use.
What is the "ALA" active aerodynamics system in the Lamborghini Huracán Performante?
ALA (Aerodynamics Lamborghini Attiva) is the manufacturer's patented active aerodynamic system. It uses electrically operated flaps in the front bumper and rear wing to actively change the airflow based on road conditions and driving mode. On the straights, the flaps open to reduce drag for a higher top speed. When cornering, they close to direct air to the inside wheel, increasing downforce and cornering speed.
Which is the rarest special edition of the Lamborghini Huracán?
Huracán Sterrato. This is Lamborghini's last pure-combustion V10 supercar, limited to 1,499 units worldwide. It is a "raised-off-road" supercar, with ground clearance 44 mm higher than the standard version, and features roof rails, front LED rally lights, and dedicated Bridgestone off-road tyres. Hong Kong had its own allocation, with a starting price of approximately HK$4,988,000.
Is the Lamborghini Huracán difficult to drive daily in Hong Kong?
It depends on which variant you drive. The STO is extremely stiff with fixed carbon-fibre bucket seats, so driving over rough roads (like from Causeway Bay to Clear Water Bay) is very bumpy. The driver's visibility is also very low, making parking extremely difficult. The Tecnica is relatively more comfortable, but it's still a supercar setup, so don't expect luxury car refinement. The main challenge is the car's width (over 2 metres), requiring extreme caution when turning in most Hong Kong car parks.
Is the engine sound of the Lamborghini Huracán really that good?
Yes. The naturally aspirated V10 sound is the Huracán's most appealing feature. Its unique cross-plane crankshaft firing order gives it a distinct wailing howl, different from a V8 or V12. Especially after 8,000 rpm, the sound becomes very sharp, high-pitched, and full of racing character. Compared to modern hybrid supercars, this pure mechanical V10 roar is becoming increasingly rare.
What colour options are available for the Lamborghini Huracán?
Lamborghini's Ad Personam department offers an extensive range of over 100 colours. Common classic colours in Hong Kong include Giallo Auge (Yellow), Arancio Argos (Orange), and Verde Selvans (Green). You can choose monotone or two-tone bodywork. Even the V10 engine cover, headlight bezels, and seatbelts can be customised to a wide range of dedicated colours.
Has the Lamborghini Huracán been discontinued?
Yes. Lamborghini has announced that all Huracán orders are completely sold out, meaning the car has officially entered its production sunset phase. This marks the end of over a decade of series-production V10 naturally aspirated engines. The Sterrato was the final limited edition, symbolising the end of the pure-combustion V10. If you want a new one now, you can only check if the dealer still has a Tecnica in stock (very few); otherwise, you will need to look on the second-hand market.
