FAQs
Is the Lamborghini Urus still available for purchase in Hong Kong now?
With the launch of the new Urus SE plug-in hybrid, the original petrol-powered versions of the Lamborghini Urus (including the Urus S and Urus Performante) have been discontinued. However, you can still spot the pre-facelift petrol models on the roads in Hong Kong.
What are the horsepower and acceleration figures of the petrol Lamborghini Urus?
The discontinued petrol version of the Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine. The pre-facelift standard model produces approximately 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h.
What are the main differences between the petrol Lamborghini Urus and the new Urus SE?
The most significant difference is the powertrain. The petrol version of the Lamborghini Urus is purely internal combustion, while the new Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) — heavier but more powerful (800 hp). In Hong Kong's stop-and-go traffic, the SE can drive on pure electric power for short distances, making it more economical.
What are the dimensions of the petrol Lamborghini Urus? Is it difficult to park?
The petrol Lamborghini Urus measures approximately 5,113 mm in length (the later S version is even longer at 5,237 mm), 2,181 mm in width (including mirrors), and 1,638 mm in height, making it a truly massive super SUV. Although it comes standard with rear-wheel steering and a 360-degree camera, parking its over 2.1-metre-wide body in multi-storey car parks is certainly a challenge.
Is the Lamborghini Urus a "sister car" to the Audi RS Q8?
Yes. The Lamborghini Urus shares the Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo platform with the Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. While the chassis architecture is similar, the Urus has a unique body design, more aggressive suspension tuning, and a specially enhanced 4.0-litre V8 engine (the RS Q8 produces approximately 600 hp).
What driving modes does the petrol Lamborghini Urus have?
The petrol Urus is equipped with six driving modes: STRADA, SPORT, CORSA, NEVE, SABBIA, and TERRA. By adjusting the air suspension, AWD system, and gearbox response, these modes allow this 2.2-tonne SUV to instantly transform into a supercar.
Is the cabin of the Lamborghini Urus luxurious?
Very luxurious. The Urus's cabin is wrapped in generous amounts of top-quality leather and Alcantara, with a hexagonal design inspired by the LM002 and Countach. Standard equipment includes a multifunction leather steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a touchscreen climate control panel. Owners can also personalise their cars extensively via the Ad Personam department.
Is the Lamborghini Urus suitable for Hong Kong users?
It depends on your needs. As a Lamborghini, the Urus offers extreme road presence and supercar-level performance. However, note its width of over 2.1 metres, requiring extreme caution when entering older car parks or navigating narrow roads like those on The Peak. While more spacious and practical than a Huracán, its daily comfort and tech features are slightly behind siblings like the Audi RS Q8. It is a vehicle for making a statement rather than for pure practicality.
Apart from the Urus SE, are there any other new Urus models to choose from?
No. Lamborghini has completely ceased production of the pure petrol Urus. Currently, only the latest Urus SE plug-in hybrid version is available on the global Lamborghini configurator and ordering system. If you see an "Urus" at the dealership, it is almost certainly the SE version.
Why would someone still buy the petrol version of the Urus?
For collectors or enthusiasts who love the sound of a pure petrol V8, the petrol Urus has an irreplaceable classic status. The exhaust note of the pure 4.0-litre V8 is wilder and more raw than the hybrid version. Although less powerful on paper (650 hp vs. 800 hp), it is lighter (approx. 2,200 kg) and offers a more purist driving feel — an alternative choice for those who prefer the last of the pure-bred ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) SUVs.
