Mitsubishi has released more details on the new Pajero, with its global debut on September 2 now drawing closer. This time, the automaker has focused on the flagship SUV's chassis and suspension setup.

The new Pajero is being developed as an all-weather, all-terrain SUV, with a focus on stable handling across different road and weather conditions while also delivering a more comfortable ride.
Mitsubishi has confirmed that the new Pajero will use the Triton pickup's chassis, but with chassis and suspension tuning specific to the SUV.
The setup is designed to improve grip and reduce body movement over rough and uneven roads, making the Pajero better suited to long-distance off-road trips.

Another highlight is Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. Already offered on higher-spec Triton variants, it gives the Pajero several drive options, including rear-wheel drive, full-time 4WD, centre differential lock and low-range 4WD.
It also comes with seven terrain modes — Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock — allowing the driver to tailor the drivetrain to different surfaces and conditions. That should give the new Pajero plenty of traction when the road gets rough.

Mitsubishi has also been teasing the new Pajero on its website, with images showing both the exterior and interior.
The SUV keeps the familiar boxy shape, along with T-shaped LED lights, while the cabin gets a digital instrument cluster. Overall, it looks like a modern take on the classic Pajero design rather than a complete departure from its roots.
