The Kia Niro EV is available in Hong Kong in two variants: the standard version and the Deluxe version. Both are 5-door, 5-seat all-electric SUVs, with the main differences being in luxury equipment.

Both Kia Niro EV variants share the same powertrain, featuring a 64.8 kWh battery and a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with front-wheel drive, producing 204 hp and 26 kgm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, with a top speed of 167 km/h. Under WLTP standards, the driving range is 460 km.

The Kia Niro EV supports the CCS Type 2 charging standard. With 100 kW DC fast charging, it takes about 45 minutes to charge from 0% to 80%. With 50 kW DC fast charging, it takes about 65 minutes. With 11 kW AC medium-speed charging, a full 0-100% charge takes about 6 hours and 20 minutes. With a standard household 13A socket, a full charge takes about 27.5 hours.

The Kia Niro EV measures 4,420 mm in length, 1,825 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. At approximately 4.4 metres long, it is a compact SUV that is fairly agile for parking and U-turns in Hong Kong. All variants come standard with front/rear parking sensors and a rear camera, making parking manageable.

The Kia Niro EV has a standard boot capacity of 475 litres, which expands to 1,392 litres with the rear seats folded in a 6:4 split. The boot is large enough for a stroller or several large suitcases.

The Kia Niro EV comes standard with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support. Standard equipment includes Qi wireless charging, Bluetooth hands-free, voice recognition, automatic climate control, rear air conditioning vents, and front seatback USB charging ports. The Deluxe version adds a power sunroof and roof rails.

The Kia Niro EV comes with comprehensive safety equipment, including 8 airbags. Active safety systems include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with autonomous braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Both variants also come with front/rear parking sensors and a rear camera.

The Kia Niro EV Deluxe adds mainly LED headlights, a power sunroof, and roof rails compared to the standard version. The powertrain, range, and battery capacity are identical between the two variants.

The Kia Niro EV is Kia's entry-level all-electric SUV, positioned below the EV6.
