Model Overview

The ORA Good Cat GT is an all-electric B-segment hatchback under Great Wall Motor's ORA marque, positioned as the sportier bodykit variant of the standard ORA Good Cat. Built around the core concept of a "retro hot hatch", it infuses aggressive styling cues into the Good Cat family's signature rounded silhouette, catering to younger drivers looking for personality and driving excitement. On 27 June 2025, the 2025 ORA Good Cat GT Mulan Edition was officially rolled out. The 2025 model year offers 2 variants, with official retail prices of RM96,800 and RM106,800, and promotional trade-in prices set at RM92,800 and RM102,800. As of June 2026, the 2025 model remains the latest iteration on sale.
Design Language
Visually, the ORA Good Cat GT retains the Good Cat family's signature retro aesthetic. The front end sports a closed-off grille featuring the brand emblem at the centre, flanked by iconic oval "cat-eye" LED headlamps alongside a clamshell bonnet that together deliver a curvaceous, highly recognisable look. Setting the GT apart from the standard model are the striking L-shaped bumper fangs and contrasting red trim accents on the lower apron, lending the front fascia a noticeably sharper and more aggressive presence. Along the sides, sleek character lines and a rising beltline give it a planted, hot-hatch stance; black cladding on the wheel arches and side skirts adds a wide-body visual effect, while 18-inch petal-style alloy wheels housing red brake calipers further dial up its athletic appeal. Around the back, the roof spoiler integrates functional aero channels, complemented by prominent GT badges on both sides and sporty red detailing across the rear diffuser area.
In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,254 mm long, 1,848 mm wide, and 1,632 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The 2025 model brings subtle exterior tweaks, sporting a more sculpted front bumper that tones down the roundedness, while the rear badge transitions from "ORA" lettering to "GWM".
Inside, the 2025 Good Cat GT debuts the "Appreciating Oriental Smart Beauty Cockpit", featuring dual-tone themes such as red-on-black and green-and-beige dynamic combinations. Premium Alcantara suede is extensively trimmed across the cabin, paired with refined chrome highlights. The gear selector has been relocated to a column-mounted electronic stalk. Range-topping trims receive two-tone red-and-black suede seats with contrast stitching, while physical toggle switches are retained for the climate controls to strike a balance between high-tech appeal and tactile convenience on the move.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2025 ORA Good Cat GT lineup is driven by a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor, pushing out 126 kW (around 171 PS) and a peak torque of 220 Nm. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a single-speed EV reduction gearbox, allowing a top speed of 150 km/h. Note that the 2024 model previously offered a higher-output 135 kW tune.
In terms of electric range, the 2025 Good Cat GT is powered by a CATL-supplied lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a capacity of 45.9 kWh, offering a CLTC-rated range of up to 430 km. Energy consumption stands at 12 kWh per 100 km. When plugged in, a 30% to 80% DC fast charge takes just 30 minutes, while a full AC slow charge requires around 8 hours. In addition, the entire range comes equipped with 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) reverse charging capabilities.
Chassis and Handling
Underneath, the ORA Good Cat GT rides on a front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam suspension setup. True to its GT badge, the chassis has received a dedicated sports tune: stiffer springs and firmer damper settings deliver clearer road feel and tighter body roll control through the corners; the floor-mounted battery pack further lowers the centre of gravity for enhanced cornering composure. Stopping power comes courtesy of ventilated front discs and solid rear discs paired with an Electric Parking Brake (EPB). The car rides on 225/55 R18 tyres, and the drive mode selector offers Sport, Eco, Standard/Comfort, and Custom/Individual options.
Cockpit and Equipment
The 2025 ORA Good Cat GT sees significant tech upgrades inside. The dashboard is headlined by a 14.6-inch floating infotainment touchscreen alongside a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Running on GWM's latest Coffee OS 3 with 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, the system boasts an ultra-fast 3-second cold boot. The Coffee App Store features over 40 built-in applications, complete with seamless smartphone connectivity via Huawei HiCar and Apple CarPlay, alongside one-touch video screen projection. The voice assistant also supports dynamic "see-and-say" navigation and complex multi-command recognition.
For comfort and lifestyle scenarios, the cabin provides 8 pre-set smart modes: Nap Mode, Immersive Mode, Brave the Wind and Waves Mode, Car Wash Mode, Camping Mode, Pet Mode, Short Absence Mode, and Sentry Mode (via OTA update). Other amenities include a Qi wireless charging pad, Bluetooth digital key, panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate with memory height adjustment. Boot capacity starts at 228 litres and expands to 858 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Safety and Driver Assistance
On the active safety front, the ORA Good Cat GT comes equipped with the ORA-Pilot Level 2 semi-autonomous driving suite. Sensor hardware includes 5 cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors, powering features such as Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Centring Assist, Lane Change Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Front and Rear Collision Warning, Door Opening Warning, and Driver Fatigue Monitoring. For hassle-free parking, the vehicle features a 540° panoramic surround-view monitor with a transparent chassis view, capable of handling over 100 parking scenarios with regular spaces tackled in as fast as 30 seconds, alongside remote parking assist.
For passive safety, the 2025 Good Cat GT is fitted as standard with dual front airbags, front side airbags, and full-length front-to-rear curtain airbags.
Market Performance and Reception
The ORA Good Cat GT reflects a classic case of enjoying greater success overseas than in its domestic market. At home in China, ORA's overall sales volume has faced headwinds, with brand deliveries lingering around just a thousand units in May 2025. Conversely, the model has gained substantial traction abroad, with ORA securing roughly 20,000 orders across key European markets in 2024. Right-hand-drive (RHD) versions have likewise carved out a healthy niche in the UK, prompting ORA to specifically develop a rain-sensing automatic window closure feature for British buyers.
Industry observers note that the Good Cat GT's domestic challenges mainly stem from stiff price-point competition amidst a crowded EV market, as well as a relatively leaner retail dealer network. Feedback from owners has been largely positive regarding its standout styling, pliant yet composed ride quality, and intuitive ADAS features; nevertheless, some users have pointed out room for refinement in infotainment response speed, rear headroom, and peak DC charging rates. On the whole, with its distinctive retro-sporty flavour, brisk 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.9 seconds, and segment-above tech features, the ORA Good Cat GT successfully brings a unique proposition to the compact EV segment, though sustained market momentum will be the ultimate test.
