Welcome the Fifth Family Member, Range Rover GT Prototype Revealed

Land Rover has officially unveiled the Range Rover GT, the fifth model to join the Range Rover family, while also releasing the first images of its prototype. More details about the new model are expected to be revealed during the second half of 2026.

The Range Rover GT marks the brand's first all-electric Range Rover to be built on Land Rover's all-new EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) platform.

Inside, the cabin embraces Land Rover's latest minimalist design philosophy, eliminating unnecessary visual clutter to create a refined, serene and contemporary luxury environment. Advanced technology is seamlessly integrated into the cabin architecture, delivering a sophisticated digital experience without compromising the clean, elegant interior aesthetic.

The new model does away with the traditional dashboard layout in favour of a single integrated display that combines the instrument cluster and driver display, creating a cleaner and more streamlined appearance.

A full-width concealed air vent stretches across the cabin, preserving Range Rover's signature horizontal design theme that has long defined the brand's interiors. The dashboard is finished in premium materials with smooth, uninterrupted surfaces, enhancing the sense of craftsmanship and visual sophistication. Even the speaker system has been discreetly integrated into the dashboard.

The cabin has been deliberately designed to minimise both visual and acoustic distractions, creating a calmer and more relaxing environment for occupants. A more intuitive AI-powered voice control system allows many vehicle functions to be operated through natural, conversational commands, reducing the need for physical controls.

In terms of production, the Range Rover GT will be built alongside Land Rover's petrol and hybrid models at the brand's Halewood manufacturing plant in the UK. The model will initially be launched as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV), with hybrid variants set to join the lineup at a later stage.

The prototype has now entered its final phase of road testing, wearing a bespoke camouflage created by Land Rover's in-house design team.

The camouflage draws inspiration from the landscape surrounding Land Rover's headquarters in Gaydon, UK, incorporating local topographical contour lines accented by flowing gold graphics. The design reflects the grand touring character and dynamic stance of the Range Rover GT, while its futuristic digital-inspired pattern hints at the advanced technologies beneath the surface, underscoring its position as the most technologically advanced Range Rover ever developed.

Martin Limpert, Managing Director of the Range Rover brand, said the Range Rover GT features elegant proportions and a commanding presence unique to the GT model line. It has been engineered to deliver exceptional long-distance comfort while going beyond the traditional expectations of a grand tourer by offering genuine off-road capability. It is set to redefine the benchmark for the luxury GT segment.
