Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the all-new all-electric long-wheelbase GLC SUV will begin pre-sale in early June and officially launch in July. Built on the dedicated MB.EA platform, the new model features a wheelbase extended to 3,027mm, making it the largest GLC in the model‘s history. It also introduces optional three-row seating (2+2+2) for the first time in a Mercedes-Benz nameplate, along with S-Class-derived AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering.

The China-exclusive long-wheelbase GLC measures 4,933mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,710mm in height. The wheelbase is 55mm longer than the standard model, with overall height increased by 66mm. Second-row independent seats offer electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. Rear cabin quietness benefits from bespoke NVH tuning comparable to the S-Class. Cargo capacity includes a 570-litre boot (expandable to 1,740 litres) plus a 128-litre front trunk.

Under the skin, an 800V electrical architecture powers a dual permanent-magnet synchronous motor setup producing 310 kW (421 hp) and 800 N·m of torque. The rear axle features a unique two-speed efficiency-optimised transmission, while the front axle incorporates a decoupling unit to reduce energy loss during highway cruising. The 85.5 kWh ternary lithium battery delivers CLTC range of up to 703 km. Peak charging power reaches 320 kW, enabling a 10% to 80% recharge in just 22 minutes.

Inside, the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen paired with a Qualcomm 8295P chip dominates the dashboard. The voice assistant supports multiple Chinese dialects including Cantonese. ADAS is co-developed with Momenta, offering traffic light recognition, highway pilot, autonomous parking and memory reverse. Over-the-air updates will add ‘park-to-park‘ navigation assistance.

Expected pricing falls in the 450,000–550,000 RMB bracket, directly competing with the NIO ES8 and AITO M9. For Hong Kong buyers, a right-hand-drive version has not yet been confirmed. If imported under the “One-for-One Replacement” EV tax scheme, the on-road price would be approximately HK$500,000–600,000, competing with the BMW iX3 and Audi Q6 e-tron. No RHD timeline or certification progress has been announced by Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong yet.
