Leapmotor has officially unveiled the interior of its first flagship MPV, the D99, showcasing the cabin layout and spatial design of the tech-luxury people mover. The vehicle features a 2+2+3 seating arrangement and debuts an industry-first cockpit-driving integrated central domain control architecture, complemented by an on-device large model smart cockpit. Market launch is scheduled for mid-2026.

The D99 achieves exceptional space utilisation, with all three rows capable of folding completely flat. The second-row zero-gravity aviation seats support 90° and 180° rotation – the former for scenic viewing, the latter for face-to-face conferencing with the third row. The cabin transforms into a double bed, a family "giant futon", or a fishing seat for outdoor use. Power adjustments and heating are standard on all three rows, with a foldable overhead entertainment screen, large panoramic sunroof and electric side doors.

Underpinned by two Qualcomm 8797 chips delivering 1,280 TOPS of combined computing power, the integrated central domain control architecture unifies smart cockpit and driving assistance processing. Paired with VLA large-model ADAS, a roof-mounted LiDAR and a multi-screen cockpit (digital instrument cluster, floating central display, AR-HUD and rear ceiling screen), the system enables advanced urban and highway pilot functions.

The D99 measures 5,280 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width and 1,900 mm in height (1,880 mm for the low-drag variant), with a 3,110 mm wheelbase. Dual-chamber closed-loop air suspension and CDC dampers come as standard. The bullet-nose design incorporates DLP projection headlamps, an ISD interactive rear light bar, hidden sliding-door rails and a 1.46-square-metre panoramic sunroof with over 99.9% UV rejection.

Powertrain options include an EREV version with an 800V platform, 80.3 kWh battery and 500 km of CLTC electric range, and a BEV version with a 1,000V system, 115 kWh battery and 700 km of CLTC range, charging 350 km in 15 minutes.

Positioned in the 200,000–300,000 RMB segment, the D99 is expected to launch at a substantial discount to premium MPVs like the Li Auto MEGA. For Hong Kong buyers, if a right-hand-drive version is homologated under the "One-for-One Replacement" EV tax scheme, the D99 would cost approximately HK$220,000–330,000, directly challenging established Japanese MPVs such as the Toyota Alphard and Nissan Elgrand. No RHD timeline or Hong Kong distributor plans have been announced yet.
