Yijing X9 Full Specs Unveiled in MIIT Filing – 5,301mm Flagship Six-Seater SUV Packed with Huawei Technologies

On May 12, Yijing Auto, the premium electric vehicle brand jointly established by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei Qiankun, officially disclosed the specifications of its first flagship SUV, the Yijing X9, through China's MIIT filing. The vehicle will be offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants, with a market launch scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

Dimensions: Breaking the 5.3-Metre Barrier Among Domestic Brands

The filing confirms that the Yijing X9 measures 5,301 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width, and 1,820 mm (RWD) or 1,805 mm (AWD) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm. This makes the X9 one of the few production vehicles in China's large six-seat SUV segment to surpass the 5.3-metre length threshold, outperforming the Li Auto L9 Livis (5,255 mm) and the standard AITO M9 (5,285 mm) in overall footprint – establishing it as a new benchmark for interior space.

For family buyers, the generous dimensions translate directly into usable third-row space. The 3,120 mm wheelbase allows a fully forward second-row seat position to still provide comfortable knee room for adult passengers in the third row. The 5.3-metre length also ensures that the vehicle retains practical cargo capacity even when all six seats are occupied.

Powertrain: EREV Standard Across All Variants

The X9 is equipped with a plug-in extended-range electric powertrain and features CATL batteries as standard, with a CALB battery option also appearing in the filing. Curb weight is listed at 2,630 kg for the RWD variant and 2,770 kg for the AWD version. Both variants are electronically limited to a top speed of 190 km/h.

Huawei Technologies Fully Deployed

The X9 is the first production vehicle to leverage a full-stack, natively co-developed architecture between Dongfeng and Huawei Qiankun. The vehicle comes standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and an 896-line dual-optical path imaging-grade LiDAR, offering L3-level hardware redundancy for urban, highway and automated parking scenarios.

Inside, the X9 debuts HarmonySpace 6, the next-generation Huawei smart cockpit. The front cabin features dual 17.2-inch screens with NFC-based independent interaction, allowing driver and passenger to operate separately. A Huawei XSCENE in-car laser projection system enables multiple immersive viewing modes.

Chassis and Safety

Ride and handling are supported by the Hongtu platform, powered by the Huawei XMC digital chassis engine, combined with a full-aluminium chassis structure fine-tuned by a European engineering team. The X9 also integrates Huawei CAS 5.0 (Comprehensive Active Safety 5.0). The body utilises 2,400 MPa ultra-high-strength thermoformed steel, while the battery pack benefits from an industry-first three-layer bulletproof-grade underbody shield.

Market Positioning

The Yijing X9 is expected to be priced between 450,000 and 550,000 RMB, directly targeting the Li Auto L9 Livis (pre-sale at 559,800 RMB), the standard AITO M9 (pre-sale from 499,800 RMB), the NIO ES9 (BaaS from 420,000 RMB, full purchase from 528,000 RMB), and the XPeng GX (pre-sale at 399,800 RMB). Its competitive strategy rests on three pillars: best-in-class physical dimensions, standard-fit Huawei ADS 5 across all trims, and premium-grade hardware now offered at the 500,000 RMB price point.

Outlook for the Hong Kong Market

If officially introduced to Hong Kong and qualified for the "One-for-One Replacement" EV tax scheme, the Yijing X9 would fall into an estimated on-road price range of HK490,000toHK490,000toHK610,000, directly competing with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5 and Lexus RX. However, Yijing Auto Hong Kong has not yet announced any right-hand-drive development timeline, homologation progress or distributor plans. Huawei ADAS and smart cockpit systems typically require several months of local testing and data compliance adaptation before official introduction to Hong Kong. The Yijing X9 is currently scheduled for initial mainland China deliveries in Q3 2026, with any Hong Kong launch expected no earlier than the second half of 2027 at the earliest. Local buyers are advised to closely monitor future certification updates from Yijing's official Hong Kong distributor.
