Denza has officially launched the second-generation D9, available in six variants across both plug‑in hybrid (DM‑i) and battery electric (BEV) powertrains. The official guide price ranges from RMB 359,800 to 469,800. As a full generational update, the new D9 delivers significant leaps in range, charging, intelligent driving and cabin comfort. The vehicle comes standard with the second‑generation Blade Battery, flash charging technology and the God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system, with deliveries scheduled to commence in mid‑May.

The second‑generation Denza D9 adopts an evolved “π‑Motion diamond cut” grille design. The body maintains dimensions of 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,900 mm in height, with a 3,110 mm wheelbase. The boot capacity has been increased to 882 litres with an additional 126‑litre under‑floor storage compartment. Eight exterior colour options are available, including a limited “Dark Night Flowing Gold” finish with a genuine gold‑plated badge.

The cabin features a classic T‑shaped layout with a new column shifter design. Up to 11 screens can be integrated, including a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 21‑inch HUD, a 15.6‑inch centre display, a 15.6‑inch folding front passenger smart screen (which doubles as a 5 kg‑capacity table), a 17.3‑inch rear ceiling screen and dual magnetic headrest screens. The system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and a next‑generation AI intelligent cockpit supporting multi‑zone voice recognition and continuous conversation.

The 2+2+3 seating layout includes front seats with standard electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage. The optional second‑row zero‑pressure Yunrong seats feature 16‑point pneumatic massage and 14‑way electric adjustment. Third‑row seats are also ventilated, heated and electrically adjustable. A 30‑speaker Devialet audio system and a 7.5‑litre smart cooler complete the package.

The DM‑i plug‑in hybrid variant uses a 1.5T engine (115 kW) paired with front (200 kW) and rear (45 kW) electric motors and a 66.5 kWh second‑generation Blade Battery, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of 401 km and a low‑battery fuel consumption of just 6.35 L/100 km. The BEV variant is available in rear‑drive (340 kW) and all‑wheel‑drive (340 kW front, 70 kW rear) versions, both with a 115 kWh second‑generation Blade Battery. CLTC range reaches up to 800 km — the longest of any pure electric MPV on the market.

Both powertrains support flash charging technology. Under normal conditions, the battery charges from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. Even at 30 degrees below zero, charging takes only 3 minutes longer than at room temperature. Over 5,500 flash charging stations already operate across 311 cities, with 20,000 stations planned by the end of 2026.
The second‑generation D9 comes standard with the God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system, powered by an end‑to‑end foundation model with reinforcement learning capabilities. Hardware includes 3 LiDAR units and 12 HD cameras, enabling both highway and urban NOA, full‑scenario auto parking, 120 km/h AEB and 120 km/h automatic emergency steering. Denza also provides a full liability guarantee for all auto parking scenarios.
The body uses 75% high‑strength steel, including 2,000 MPa ultra‑high‑strength hot‑formed steel. Nine airbags are standard, including a 3.2‑metre side curtain that spans all three rows. The triple active safety system (AEB, AES and ESA) handles challenging scenarios from tunnel entry and exit to crosswind stability and tyre blowout control.
Launch offers include up to RMB 50,000 in option packages, a one‑year free flash charging benefit and up to RMB 20,000 in trade‑in subsidies. Denza owners qualify for RMB 20,000, BYD or Mercedes‑Benz owners for RMB 15,000, and owners of other brands for RMB 10,000. Financing options include two‑year zero‑interest or three‑year low‑interest plans.
Since its launch in 2022, the Denza D9 has surpassed 300,000 cumulative sales and held the premium MPV sales crown for three consecutive years. The second‑generation model sets a new technology benchmark for the RMB 300,000‑500,000 luxury MPV segment. For Hong Kong customers, right‑hand drive availability has not yet been confirmed, but the model remains worth watching as Denza continues to expand its product portfolio.
