Model Overview

The Wuling Bingo PLUS is a compact all-electric hatchback under SAIC-GM-Wuling's Wuling brand, officially launched in March 2024. In September 2024, Wuling introduced the updated Wuling Bingo PLUS, upgrading its seating configuration from a four-seater to a five-seater, with starting prices lowered by RM14,000 compared to the previous version. The updated lineup comprises three variants—330km 5-Seater Edition, 401km 5-Seater Edition, and 510km 5-Seater Edition, with official recommended retail prices of RM75,800, RM84,800, and RM95,800 respectively. Other variants on sale include the 401km Flagship Edition (priced at RM89,800) and 510km Flagship Edition (priced at RM98,800). Purchase incentives include an RM2,000 trade-in rebate, lifetime warranty on the electric drive system (battery, motor, and electronic control) for the first non-commercial owner, a complimentary home wallbox charger, and solar window tinting. Positioned as an "ultra-long-range five-door electric SUV", its primary rivals include the BYD Seagull and Dolphin.

Design Language

The Wuling Bingo PLUS adopts an all-new design language, featuring sharper and bolder character lines than the standard Wuling Bingo, dialling back the rounded look in favour of a sportier, more contemporary aesthetic. Up front, it sports a closed-off grille flanked by defined contours, complemented by a lower dot-matrix air intake accented with chrome trim. The sleek headlamp assemblies integrate linear LED daytime running lights (DRLs), with LED projectors for both high and low beams. Pronounced bonnet creases further accentuate the vehicle's athletic presence.

Along the flanks, a floating roof design with a blackened finish delivers a stylish two-tone appearance. Deeply sculpted character lines along the lower door panels add visual depth. It is fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 185/60 R15 tyres. The rear profile is solid and planted, equipped with a roof spoiler, a high-mount stop lamp, smoked tail lights, and a prominent black lower diffuser. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,090 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase. Six exterior paint options are available, including Aurora Green, Quantum Black, and Storm Grey.

Inside, the cabin embraces the minimalist aesthetic popular among modern new energy vehicles, featuring a two-tone colour scheme with refined chrome highlights. Buyers can choose between two cabin colourways: Sky Green and Warm Sand White. Soft-touch leatherette wraps extensive portions of the dashboard. Key cockpit appointments include a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a steering column-mounted electronic gear shifter, an 8.8-inch full digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch central infotainment touchscreen. The floating centre console features a tiered, double-layer bridge layout.

Powertrain & Performance

Across the range, the Wuling Bingo PLUS is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor (model TZ180XS275), manufactured by Shandong Shuanglin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The drive motor delivers a maximum output of 75 kW (approx. 102 PS) and a peak torque of 180 Nm. Power is sent to the wheels via a single-speed EV reduction gearbox. Top speed is rated at 140 km/h. Official 0-50 km/h acceleration times are 3.7 seconds, 4.0 seconds, and 4.2 seconds depending on the variant, while the 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 11.6 seconds.

For electric range, three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery capacities are offered: a 31.9 kWh pack for the 330km variant, a 37.9 kWh pack for the 401km variant, and a 50.6 kWh pack for the 510km variant. The corresponding CLTC pure electric driving ranges are 330 km, 401 km, and 510 km. Rated power consumption stands at 11.4 kWh per 100 km.

In terms of charging, DC fast charging is standard across the board. A 30% to 80% DC fast charge takes 35 minutes for the 330km and 401km variants, and 30 minutes for the 510km variant. For AC charging, the 330km and 401km variants support up to 3.3 kW (20%-100% in roughly 9.5-11 hours), while the 510km variant supports 6.6 kW (20%-100% in approx. 7.5 hours). Battery pre-heating and intelligent thermal insulation functions come standard across the range. The vehicle is backed by a 4-year or 150,000-km warranty.

Chassis & Handling

Underneath, the Wuling Bingo PLUS features a suspension setup comprising front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion beam. It is built on a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout. Steering is managed by an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, riding on a monocoque chassis. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes front and rear, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). Tyre dimensions are 185/60 R15. Kerb weight is rated at 1,190 kg for the 330km variant, 1,235 kg for the 401km variant, and 1,335 kg for the 510km variant. The drive mode selector offers three settings: Sport, Eco, and Standard/Comfort.

Cabin & Features

On the connectivity and smart cabin front, the Wuling Bingo PLUS is equipped with the Ling OS intelligent operating system. The system supports AutoNavi GPS navigation, continuous voice recognition, telematics (Internet of Vehicles), 4G network connectivity, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and smartphone app remote control (including door locking/unlocking, remote start, and climate pre-conditioning). The infotainment hub is centered on a 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen.

Seating is configured for five occupants. The seats are upholstered in a combination of leatherette and synthetic suede. The driver's seat comes with 6-way manual adjustment. The 50:50 split-folding rear seats fold down independently and are fitted with dedicated headrests. The leather-wrapped steering wheel offers tilt adjustment only. Air conditioning is manually operated.

Safety & Driver Assistance

In terms of structural safety, the Wuling Bingo PLUS utilizes a "Five-Ring High-Strength Steel" safety cage engineered to high structural standards. High-strength steel accounts for 74.8% of the body structure, incorporating ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel exceeding 1,500 MPa across 22 critical areas. Class-leading energy-absorbing structures are deployed across three key zones: the front side members, the front compartment, and the floor pan.

Battery safety is anchored by Wuling's liquid-cooled Shenlian Battery pack, utilizing ceramic-coated cells to effectively mitigate thermal runaway risks. The battery features an advanced liquid heating and cooling thermal management system, improving heat dissipation in hot conditions and boosting heating efficiency by 50% during low-temperature charging. The heavy-duty battery casing incorporates a roll-formed box-section frame, increasing the pack's impact and crush resistance from critical angles by 80%. A vehicle-to-cloud dual-BMS monitoring system provides over 240 real-time safety monitoring parameters and more than 80 fault pre-warning alerts.

For passive safety, four airbags (dual front and front side airbags) are standard across the range. Active safety features standard on all variants include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH). Rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and cruise control come standard across all variants. Additional safety equipment includes collision automatic door unlocking, drive-away auto door locks, child safety locks, rear ISOFIX child seat anchor points, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) for low-speed pedestrian safety. In terms of parking assistance, the Flagship variants come standard with rear ultrasonic sensors.

Market Performance & Reception

The Wuling Bingo PLUS enjoyed steady sales in its early launch phase, once recording monthly deliveries exceeding 6,200 units. In December 2024, retail deliveries reached 6,273 units. Full-year cumulative sales for 2025 stood at approximately 23,334 units. Monthly retail sales from January to March 2025 were recorded at 3,002 units, 3,283 units, and 3,516 units respectively. However, sales momentum tapered off noticeably thereafter, dropping to 822 units in September 2025. Entering 2026, demand contracted significantly, with combined sales for January and February 2026 reaching just 122 units, followed by only 40 retail units delivered in March 2026.

In terms of market reception, the Wuling Bingo PLUS carved out a distinctive competitive edge thanks to its 510 km driving range, practical five-seater cabin enabled by the 2,610 mm wheelbase, the intuitive Ling OS infotainment system, and an accessible entry price of RM75,800. However, market analysts have highlighted its somewhat awkward positioning—priced above the Seagull yet offering less interior space than the Dolphin. The downturn in sales has been attributed to intensifying segment competition, a growing array of rival offerings, as well as Wuling's pricing strategy and market responsiveness. Overall, while the Bingo PLUS represents an important strategic model for Wuling in the compact EV space with strong USPs in range, practicality, and cabin tech, intense competition and positioning hurdles mean there remains considerable room for improvement in its long-term market performance.
