2026-10-02 09:50:00

Model Overview

The Venucia VX6 is a fully electric C-segment SUV developed on Dongfeng Nissan's dedicated Vita pure electric platform under the Venucia marque. First introduced in 2023, the model has since received several updates and facelifts. The updated Venucia VX6 was officially launched on 15 October 2024, followed by the debut of the 2026 Venucia VX6 Flat-Floor Edition on 15 July 2025. The 2026 line-up comprises two main variants—the standard Venucia VX6 and the Venucia VX6 Flat-Floor Edition—spanning across 5 trim levels, with official retail prices ranging from RM134,900 to RM159,900, alongside limited-time promotional pricing between RM112,900 and RM145,900. Marketed as an "intelligent, versatile large electric SUV", it prioritises ultra-generous cabin space tailored for family journeys. Key segment rivals include mainstream all-electric compact SUVs such as the BYD Atto 3 (Yuan PLUS) and GAC AION Y.

Design Language

The Venucia VX6 incorporates the brand's STAR design philosophy. Up front, it features a blanked-off grille flanked by split-level LED headlamps, crowned by a full-width light bar with the signature "V" motif, whilst the lower light clusters and air curtains form a distinctive 7-shaped signature. Along the flanks, smooth, flowing contours are paired with a floating roofline and flush pop-out door handles. At the rear, the full-width LED taillight cluster mirrors the signature "V" graphic, complemented by a sporty roof spoiler and a rear diffuser-style apron. The 2024 model introduced two new exterior shades—"No-Worry Green" and "Carefree Green"—whilst the 2026 iteration carries over the established styling cues. In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,658 mm in length (4,673 mm for select variants), 1,890 mm in width, and 1,656 mm in height, with a generous 2,850 mm wheelbase. Inside, the wraparound dashboard is trimmed in a two-tone palette with extensive soft-touch upholstery, highlighted by a 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating central infotainment touchscreen.

Powertrain & Performance

Powering the entire 2026 Venucia VX6 range is a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 155 kW (211 PS) and 275 Nm of peak torque. The official 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 8.8 seconds, with 0-50 km/h dispatched in 4.3 seconds, onwards to a top speed of 155 km/h. While the 2024 model previously offered a higher-output 160 kW variant, the 2026 range has standardized output at 155 kW across the board.

For energy storage, the 2026 model offers two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery capacities: 53 kWh and 58 kWh. The 53 kWh pack delivers a CLTC-rated range of up to 450 km, while the 58 kWh unit achieves up to 510 km on the CLTC cycle. Equipped with the new Venucia Luban Battery 2.0 system, the VX6 supports 3C DC fast charging, replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% SoC in just 14 minutes, alongside a reduced power consumption of 13.1 kWh/100 km. A 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) reverse power supply is fitted as standard across all variants. The vehicle is backed by a 6-year or 150,000 km manufacturer warranty.

Chassis & Handling

Underpinning the Venucia VX6 is a front MacPherson strut and rear five-link independent suspension setup, fitted with anti-roll bars front and rear. The rear axle uniquely features class-exclusive aluminium alloy steering knuckles to optimise mechanical grip and dynamic composure. The chassis setup is explicitly tuned for plush ride comfort, featuring long damper travel and progressive rebound damping to soak up road undulations with ease. However, body lean is noticeably pronounced during brisk directional changes, reflecting a setup that disfavours aggressive driving. The SUV boasts a tight turning radius of 5.6 m and an unladen ground clearance of 180 mm. Power is driven exclusively through the front wheels (FWD), with stopping power provided by ventilated front discs and solid rear discs. For NVH suppression, 4.96 mm acoustic laminated glass and a dual-stage vibration damping system are deployed to isolate wind turbulence and road chatter.

Cabin & Equipment

In the tech department, the entire line-up from the 2024 model year onwards gets an upgraded automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor (7 nm architecture with an 8-core CPU and 16 GB RAM). It runs the Lighthouse OS 2.0 interface, featuring a refreshed UI, multi-layout desktop styles, and a customisable navigation dock. Over 20 native infotainment applications, including Youku and QQ Music, come pre-installed, complemented by dual smartphone mirroring via Huawei HiCar and Xiaomi Carlink. The full-scenario AI voice assistant supports dual-zone voice pickup for the driver and front passenger alongside continuous voice command recognition. The system also supports customisable preset scene modes—the "Starlight Queen Bedroom" mode allows the front backrests to fold completely flat to 180° in tandem with the drop-down rear seats to form a seamless 2.5 m × 1.5 m flat resting area, whilst the "Midday Rest" mode converts the front passenger seat into an ergonomic lounge lounger. Ample storage includes an under-seat compartment beneath the front cushions, while boot space measures 418 litres, expandable up to a cavernous 2,153 litres with the rear seats folded.

Safety & Driver Assistance

Safety-wise, the 2026 model benefits from the Luban Battery 2.0 architecture, featuring triple-layered underbody armour protection and undergoing 146 stringent safety verification tests, meeting all 24 criteria of the upcoming 2026 national battery safety mandate ahead of time. Its industry-first "quad-needle simultaneous multi-cell puncture test" demonstrated zero thermal runaway across the entire pack for 72 hours without catching fire or exploding; a 24/7 cloud monitoring system continuously tracks battery operational parameters. The structural shell utilizes a high-rigidity ZONE BODY construction, comprising 67% high-strength steel (including 25% ultra-high-strength hot-stamped steel). Inside, the cabin adopts eco-friendly 3D-mesh water-based dashboard materials and amine-free foam cushions, ensuring a zero-formaldehyde environment with emissions kept under 0.015 mg/m³—a mere one-fifth of the permissible national limit.

Active safety is managed by the Venucia V-Pilot Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), encompassing Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Centring Assist (LCA), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA); Level 2 capabilities are standard from the mid-spec variants upwards. In addition, all variants are equipped with a 540° panoramic surround-view monitor with a transparent underfloor display, alongside Fully Automatic Fusion Parking (FAP).

Market Performance & Reception

Since its market introduction, the Venucia VX6 has seen considerable fluctuations in sales volumes. Monthly deliveries registered just 386 units in February 2024 before picking up to 505 units in March; sales peaked at 1,526 units in May 2025, before settling at 803 units in March 2026. Automotive industry observers highlight a broader sales slowdown for the marque, with Venucia registering just 6,119 units in total across the first quarter of 2025—averaging under 2,000 units monthly. From an owner feedback perspective, the vehicle is widely lauded for its commodious rear legroom courtesy of the long 2,850 mm wheelbase, its remarkably modular seating configurations, and its dependable real-world electric efficiency. On the flip side, criticisms centre around its modest value proposition and relatively low brand presence, with some drivers noting prominent tyre roar at cruising speeds and a slight lag in infotainment boot-up times. On balance, aided by its bespoke Vita EV architecture, segment-topping 2,850 mm wheelbase, 90% space utilisation rate, Snapdragon 8155-driven digital cockpit, Luban Battery 2.0, and Level 2 ADAS suite, the Venucia VX6 maintains a distinct and practical edge in the competitive RM110,000 to RM160,000 electric compact SUV segment.
