Model Overview

The Radar King Kong is a fully electric pick-up truck introduced by Geely Auto's new energy vehicle (NEV) marque, Geely Radar. Radar represents Geely's first-ever dedicated all-electric pick-up brand. The model made its official debut on 23 December 2024, followed by the rollout of the 2026 model year at the Beijing Auto Show on 24 April 2026. Positioned as a "global dual-use commercial and lifestyle super-electric smart pick-up", the 2026 line-up offers eight variants split across two main series: the "Zhao Cai King Kong" 2WD and "Da Li King Kong" 4WD. The 2WD range is priced from RM119,800 to RM151,800, whilst the 4WD range retails between RM139,800 and RM159,800. Emphasising "EV running costs lower than ICE vehicles" alongside high-output electric performance, the model targets a diverse customer base requiring both commercial cargo hauling and passenger-car daily drivability.

Design Language

In terms of exterior styling, the Radar King Kong adopts the signature family design language seen on the Radar RD6. The front fascia incorporates a closed-off grille, using gloss black trim to create the impression of a sleek front grille complemented by an undulating wave-pattern motif within. The brand badge has been restyled into block lettering and repositioned onto the front bonnet. Bold, rugged lines define the front end with prominent bonnet character lines, whilst full-width LED daytime running lights (DRLs) further enhance its road presence. In profile, it retains the classic pick-up stance, featuring a clean shoulder line paired with subtly flared front and rear wheel arches. Two body configurations are on offer: the standard bed variant measures 5,260 × 1,900 × 1,865 mm (2WD) / 1,880 mm (4WD) with a 3,120 mm wheelbase, whilst the long bed variant measures 5,500 × 1,900 × 1,865 mm (2WD) / 1,880 mm (4WD) with a 3,310 mm wheelbase. For the cargo bed, the standard version dimensions stand at 1,525 × 1,450 × 540 mm, whereas the long bed extends the load floor depth to 1,765 mm.

Inside, the Radar King Kong features a well-laid-out dashboard. The 2024 model comes equipped with a 3.5-inch LCD instrument display and a 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen powered by the Galaxy OS system; the 2026 model upgrades to an 8.8-inch colour instrument cluster alongside an 8-inch central screen, with higher-spec variants gaining larger displays. Accented with extensive chrome trim pieces, the overall cabin delivers a distinctly passenger-car-like ambience.

Powertrain & Performance

The Radar King Kong is available with two electric drivetrain setups: single-motor rear-wheel drive (2WD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (4WD). The 2WD variant delivers 180 kW of power and 309 Nm of torque, whilst the 4WD variant pushes out 280 kW and a peak torque of 485 Nm—virtually doubling the output of conventional 2.4-litre turbodiesel pick-up trucks. The 4WD model completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.7 seconds unladen, and 7.8 seconds under full payload. It also boasts an instantaneous torque response of only 20 ms, which is 10 times quicker than conventional combustion-powered pick-up trucks.

Power is drawn from a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The 2WD variant offers CLTC-rated electric ranges across 310 km, 430 km, 505 km, and 605 km options, whereas the 4WD variant provides ranges of 330 km, 460 km, and 520 km. Energy efficiency is rated at an impressive 16.2 kWh/100 km. Both DC fast charging and AC standard charging are supported.

Chassis & Handling

The Radar King Kong is built on a monocoque (unibody) chassis architecture. Suspension duties are handled by front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link independent setup. Drivetrain options include rear-mounted rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (4WD). The steering utilizes an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, complemented by four-wheel disc brakes across the board.

Off-road capability is highlighted by a maximum gradeability of 95%, with the truck capable of negotiating a 55% gradient even under full payload. 4WD variants are equipped with three dedicated terrain modes: Off-road, Snow, and Mud. It boasts an engineered payload capacity exceeding 1,300 kg, with a rated payload capacity of 910 kg.

Cabin & Equipment

In terms of infotainment and connectivity, the 2026 Radar King Kong EV premieres Geely's Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system. A 14.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen is fitted as standard across the range, making it the first pick-up truck in its segment to feature this operating system. The infotainment integrates the latest AutoNavi navigation suite, offering positioning accuracy and graphical stability superior to smartphone-based navigation apps. The voice command system delivers millisecond-level responsiveness, wake-up-free interactions, multi-command parallel processing, and comprehensive "what you see is what you can say" functionality. Multimedia integration includes mainstream music and streaming apps such as QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, iQIYI, and Cloud Listen.

For comfort and convenience, high-spec variants feature leatherette upholstery, complete with power-adjustable seats for both the driver and front passenger. The cabin provides ample legroom and headroom, with the rear seat backrest angled at a comfortable 115 degrees. Additional equipment includes Auto Brake Hold, automatic headlamps, and an electric release tailgate. Furthermore, the vehicle supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power export of up to 36 kW—offering 380V/30kW via the fast-charging port and a 220V/6kW socket in the rear cargo bed—catering effortlessly to outdoor job sites, drone operations, and emergency backup power needs.

Safety & Driver Assistance

On the safety front, the Radar King Kong is built upon China's first dedicated native electric pick-up platform, the M.A.P Radar Hanhai architecture. The battery pack is protected by a 10.5 mm high-strength honeycomb casing, meeting the rugged protection benchmarks of off-road 4x4 SUVs. The pick-up features an impressive 253 mm ground clearance alongside an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
