Model Overview

The ARCFOX Alpha S6 is an executive pure-electric sedan launched by ARCFOX, an EV marque under BAIC BJEV, officially making its market debut on 2 April 2025. The new model is essentially a facelifted and renamed iteration of the ARCFOX Alpha S. The Alpha S6 is offered in three variant options priced between RM195,800 and RM225,800: the 735MAX variant at RM195,800, the 735 Limited Edition at RM205,800, and the Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition at RM225,800. Built on the dedicated BE21 platform, the vehicle is billed as an "intelligent luxury pure-electric sedan", with democratising high-tier autonomous driving tech down to the RM200,000 price point as its headline selling proposition.

Design Language

The Alpha S6 adopts a borderless front design language, sporting a closed-off grille paired with an illuminated emblem; the headlamp clusters feature a smoked finish with integrated projector lenses. Below, the three-piece lower bumper incorporates vertical aerodynamic air curtains on both front wings. In profile, it flaunts a sleek fastback silhouette with a sculpted split waistline, flush pop-out door handles, and 5-spoke low-drag aerodynamic alloy wheels. The rear end is capped off with an integrated ducktail bootlid spoiler and full-width smoked LED taillights. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,930 mm long, 1,940 mm wide, and 1,599 mm tall, riding on a 2,915 mm wheelbase. Exterior colour options include Soft Light Gold, Ice Grey, Polar White, Polar Night Black, and Victor Black. The cabin retains a wraparound cockpit layout, equipped with a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and added physical buttons on the centre console.

Powertrain and Performance

The Alpha S6 offers multiple powertrain configurations, all driven by single-motor setups at launch.

735MAX and 735 Limited Edition: Powered by a front-mounted single motor delivering outputs of either 160 kW (218 PS) or 175 kW (238 PS), both generating a peak torque of 320 Nm. These are paired with a 93.6 kWh or 94.5 kWh ternary lithium (NMC) battery pack (with cells from SK On), returning an identical CLTC-rated range of 735 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is dispatched in 8.4 seconds. Based on a 400V electrical architecture, DC fast charging from 30% to 80% takes approximately 30 minutes.

Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition: Powered by a rear-mounted single motor (343 PS), putting out 252 kW (343 PS) and 370 Nm of torque. It achieves a CLTC range of 602 km, with a 0-100 km/h sprint completed in 6.4 seconds. Underpinned by an 800V high-voltage platform, it supports ultra-fast charging that can recoup 240 km of range in 10 minutes, or 120 km in just 5 minutes.

In addition, an AWD variant has been homologated with China's MIIT, featuring Huawei front and rear dual motors (221 kW front / 252 kW rear) with a combined output of 473 kW, completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds, paired with a CATL-sourced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, and yielding a CLTC range of 603 km.

Chassis and Handling

The Alpha S6 utilises a monocoque body structure. The suspension setup consists of front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link independent suspension, with chassis dynamics co-tuned by ARCFOX and Magna. Drive layout varies by trim, with entry- and mid-spec models being front-wheel drive (FWD), while the Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition is rear-wheel drive (RWD). Stopping power comes from all-round ventilated disc brakes paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It rides on 245/45 R20 tyres. The body shell employs an aluminium-steel hybrid construction with 91.1% high-strength steel content, achieving a torsional rigidity of 63,354 Nm/deg.

Cabin and Equipment

Inside, entry- and mid-spec models come equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 20.3-inch infotainment touchscreen; the Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition upgrades to a 21.7-inch central display. In terms of in-car tech, lower trims run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and the new ARCFOX OS HMI system, integrated with a DeepSeek large model AI voice assistant; the Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition steps up to the Huawei HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit powered by a Kirin 990A chip, supporting seamless multi-device cross-connectivity.

For passenger comfort, the entire lineup gets standard 10-layer "Cloud Velvet" luxury seats with memory, ventilation, heating, and 8-point massage functions (featuring 8 modes and 3 intensity settings). The cabin is upholstered in baby-grade eco-friendly materials free of formaldehyde and benzene. The climate control system is fitted with a class-exclusive 4-layer CN95 air purification filter. In-car entertainment is handled by a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, complemented by impressive NVH suppression with interior noise measuring just 54.1 dB at 60 km/h. Boot capacity is generous in standard configuration and expands up to 1,300 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Safety and ADAS

Intelligent driving tech is the crowning highlight of the Alpha S6. The Triple-LiDAR Smart Driving Edition is equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.3 system, powered by a GOD+PDP end-to-end human-like software architecture. Its sensor suite comprises 3 LiDAR units, 6 millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 13 HD cameras, totalling 34 perception sensors. Supported functions include City NOA, Highway NOA, AVP/VPD Automated Valet Parking, Smart Summon, and traffic light recognition. The Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system can effectively bring the car to a halt from speeds of up to 120 km/h.

On the passive safety front, the body boasts a torsional rigidity of 63,354 Nm/deg, with high-strength materials making up over 90% of the vehicle frame. The ADAS suite is backed by Huawei's CAS 3.0 omnidirectional collision avoidance system. Entry- and mid-spec models come standard with Level 2 semi-autonomous driving assist.

Market Performance and Verdict

Market reception following the Alpha S6 launch has been relatively quiet. New vehicle registrations in the Beijing region recorded 88 units, 13 units, and 27 units across January to March 2026, respectively. Industry analysts point out that as a renamed update of the Alpha S, its incremental product enhancements leave it facing stiff headwinds in an intensely competitive full-size pure-electric sedan segment. For context, the ARCFOX brand achieved total annual sales of 81,017 units in 2024, while monthly brand sales reached 13,018 units in March 2025.

In owner and media feedback, the inclusion of Huawei ADS 3.3 high-tier autonomous driving tech in the RM200,000 class is widely praised as its biggest highlight; features such as the 735 km driving range, 800V high-voltage architecture, and HarmonyOS cockpit remain competitive for the money. Criticisms primarily centre on the absence of the Huawei smart driving system on entry- and mid-spec variants, modest brand presence, and fierce market rivalry. Overall, the Alpha S6 leans heavily on its core pitch of "Huawei ADAS + Long Range + Accessible Pricing", aiming to carve out market share via a "tech democratisation" strategy in the RM200,000 EV sedan space, though elevating overall brand recognition remains a crucial hurdle going forward.
