Updated Xiaomi SU7 Ultra spotted at Nürburgring with massive swan-neck rear wing – launching in 2027?

An updated Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has been spotted testing at Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife, wearing a more aggressive aerodynamic package. The most noticeable change is a large swan-neck rear wing, accompanied by revised front-end aero components and a larger rear diffuser.

According to reports from Chinese media, the updated electric sedan could arrive in 2027, potentially with a new four-motor powertrain.

More aggressive aero

The test car retains the overall shape of the current SU7 Ultra, but several aerodynamic components appear to have been revised.

At the front, the bonnet keeps its twin air ducts, while the front bumper now features more pronounced side canards and a redesigned splitter. The front wings also appear to have gained shark-gill-style vents, with open airflow channels behind the wheel arches.

These changes are expected to help manage airflow around the body and improve stability at high speeds.

The low-slung profile remains largely unchanged. The test car features carbon-fibre mirror housings and retains the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. It also wears a new set of lightweight wheels, paired with yellow fixed brake callipers. The carbon-ceramic braking system is expected to carry over.

The biggest change is at the rear, where the car gets a prominent two-tier swan-neck wing and a larger rear diffuser.

The wing also appears to incorporate a drag reduction system (DRS), which could increase downforce through corners and reduce drag on straights. However, whether it is an active system with adjustable settings remains to be confirmed.

Four-motor setup

The current Xiaomi SU7 Ultra uses a three-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a combined 1,548 hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, excluding rollout time, and has a claimed top speed of 350 km/h.

For the updated model, reports from China suggest Xiaomi is developing a new four-motor all-wheel-drive system. Its peak output is rumoured to reach around 2,054 hp, with the setup potentially making its way into a future high-performance version of the SU7 Ultra.
