Mazda CX-6e launched in Hong Kong, from HK$429,990 – Mazda's first electric SUV

Mazda has introduced its first all-electric SUV to Hong Kong. The new Mazda CX-6e is priced at HK$429,990, expanding the brand's local EV line-up following the Mazda 6e electric sedan.

The mid-size SUV features rear-wheel drive, a 78kWh battery and a claimed WLTP range of 468km. It also supports fast charging, with a 30–80% charge taking around 15 minutes under the stated conditions.

Powertrain and range

The CX-6e uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 190kW (258PS), drawing power from a 78kWh battery pack. Its official WLTP range is 468km.

For charging, Mazda quotes around 15 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80% using rapid charging. The SUV also features regenerative braking, which recovers energy as the vehicle slows down and feeds it back into the battery.

Kodo styling and technology

The CX-6e carries Mazda's Kodo design language into its electric SUV range, with flowing body lines intended to give it a balance of elegance and presence. Inside, the focus shifts to a technology-led cabin, with an integrated smart cockpit and a range of safety features.

The CX-6e made its global debut at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium in January 2026. It is Mazda's second all-electric model after the 6e, and was developed in collaboration with the brand's Chinese partner.

Pricing

At HK$429,990, the CX-6e sits between two existing models in Mazda's Hong Kong range. It costs HK$30,000 more than the Mazda 6e electric sedan (HK$399,990), and HK$10,000 more than the petrol-powered CX-60 2.5 AWD, which starts at HK$419,990.

The CX-6e gives buyers a further option within the brand's line-up: an electric SUV for those who want to switch to an EV but prefer an SUV body style over a sedan.

The CX-6e enters a competitive part of Hong Kong's EV market, where it will face similarly priced electric SUVs, including models from Chinese brands. Its appeal will therefore depend not only on its range and charging performance, but also on whether Mazda's design and driving characteristics give it an edge over rivals.
