Lamborghini Super Trofeo Rising Star Challenge Crown

From July 16 to 18, the 2026 Season Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asian Challenge 4th Stop will return to Yeoncheon Speedium track in South Korea. This 3.908 km long track, known for its fast flowing layout and dramatic elevation changes, is hailed as "Asia's Spa" due to its highly challenging characteristics. The weakened Typhoon "Bawi" is also expected to bring rain and strong winds, thereby increasing the spectator appeal of the race.

This weekend, three rising stars selected for the 2026 Season Super Trofeo Junior Driver Development Program — Liam Sceats (20, New Zealand) from Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team, Gustaw Wiśniewski (18, Poland), and Titus Sherlock (21) from Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph team — will face a new test here. This plan belongs to Lamborghini Squadra Corse Driver Development Project, entering its 13th year this season, with 17 drivers selected this season.

Currently, Wiśniewski and Sceats pairing rank 2nd in the PRO Category standings, while Sherlock and Chinese driver Li Zhicong pairing ranks 4th. Their common goal is to chase the current PRO Category leader William Tregurtha from Batmobile Racing, who holds a 20-point lead. This 26-year-old young man debuted as a solo driver in the season opener Malaysia Round and won the PRO Category title. Since the 2nd Stop, pairing with Monaco legend Jonathan Cecotto, they have won 4 consecutive race winners at Ningbo, China and Fuji, Japan, with unstoppable momentum.

It is worth noting that although Cecotto missed the season opener, based on 4 consecutive wins, he has rapidly climbed to the front of the PRO Category standings, only 7 points behind Sceats and Wiśniewski. And in the 2025 Season, he with teammate Gavin Huang took one win and one podium finish at Yeoncheon Speedium, this valuable experience may become the key variable to break the current situation this weekend.

Yeoncheon track's 20 corners and dramatic changes put strict requirements on car power output and braking stability — Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2's 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine must balance traction in high-speed corners and durability in hard braking zones here. The rear-wheel steering system and adjustable anti-roll bar coordination will determine whether drivers can complete overtakes with more aggressive lines in continuous complex corners. Track characteristics combined with weather variables may amplify the gap between new and experienced drivers.

PRO Category will also welcome a new face — 23-year-old American driver Barrett Wolfe will compete solo at Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph team's home race. He has achieved a US F4 Championship podium, competing in Americas Regional Formula Championship this season, and competed in 2025 Season Oceania Regional Formula Championship with excellent opponents like current Racing Bulls F1 Team driver Arvid Lindblad. Whether his Asian debut can make a big impact at "Asia's Spa" is equally anticipated.

PRO-AM Category: Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team's Chris van der Drift and Todd Kingsford, since pairing for the first time at Malaysia Round, have won all six races, leading the standings with a huge 49-point advantage. However, Yeoncheon's complex mountain climate and track layout may become the greatest threat to their undefeated record. Currently ranking 2nd is Batmobile Racing team Malaysia duo Putera Mu’azzam and Kumar Prabakaran, who have been on the podium continuously since Ningbo Round, waiting to break the rule. Local team SQDA-GRIT Motorsport sends Yoon Jeon and Kevin Lee to fight in PRO-AM Category, where Yoon Jeon had consecutive two rounds on AM Category podium at Fuji Round, home race certainly adds variables.

AM Category: True Visions Motorsports Thailand driver Suttiluck Buncharoen, after podium at Sepang Round 2, has won 4 consecutive races at Ningbo and Fuji, and entered top 5 overall twice. But KAM LUNG Racing driver Bertram Lau always stays close, currently only 18 points behind, champion suspense remains.

Lamborghini Cup: Siamgas Corse team's Supachai Weeraborwornpong only had one blunder this season, but Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph pair Gerald Goh and Terence Tse only 16 points behind, Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph pair Qian Long and Kim Sangho are also in contention, title fight far from over.

Yeoncheon Speedium track launched in 2013, about 120 km east of Seoul, track layout shape like a seahorse, due to extreme requirements on driver technique, stamina and focus, regarded as one of Asia's most challenging tracks. This weekend, aerodynamic balance in fast corners and long straight end brake heat fade resistance will become decisive factors, and sudden mountain rain may completely rewrite the tactical plans.

The event will start on July 16 (Thursday) with two official practice sessions of one hour each. July 17 (Friday) morning 10:50 conduct two qualifying sessions of 15 minutes each, first round main race starts 15:45 afternoon same day; second round then starts on July 18 (Saturday) afternoon 14:40 (All times UTC+9). When "Asia's Spa" meets new generation shockwave, Yeoncheon weekend is destined to not be quiet.
