Jannarelly is a custom supercar manufacturer originating from Dubai, UAE, officially founded in 2016. The brand was co-founded by Anthony Jannarelly and Frédéric Juillot, two founders of French descent, with its headquarters located in Dubai.
Founder Anthony Jannarelly is a highly respected figure in the automotive design industry, having previously served as Chief Designer at W Motors, where he designed legendary hypercars such as the Lykan Hypersport, Fenyr Supersport, and the Zarooq Sand Racer. His partner, Frédéric Juillot, is an expert in composite materials with extensive experience in yacht manufacturing. The brand name "Jannarelly" is derived directly from the founder's surname. The brand logo features specially designed lettering shaped like lightning, representing the speed and performance pursued by sports cars. The brand's core philosophy is to create cars that are "pure, simple, and powerful," recalling the driving experiences of the 1960s and bringing nostalgia and passion to modern vehicles.
The birth of Jannarelly dates back to the end of 2015. At that time, after discussing with partner Frédéric Juillot, renowned automotive designer Anthony Jannarelly decided to establish his own custom supercar brand to showcase his creativity and passion.
In February 2016, the brand was officially announced and registered in Dubai. In June of the same year, the first mass-produced model Design-1 was first delivered to the public during the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France. The first Launch Edition model featured a silver exterior and red interior; the owners were a father and son who drove the new car to the Le Mans circuit to watch the race, completing a highly ritualized debut. In July 2017, Tomini Classics officially became the exclusive dealer for Jannarelly in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the brand's sales network radiated outward from the local Middle East.
Around 2018, the brand announced its second model, Design-X1. This is an all-electric version based on the Design-1, featuring a retro electric sports car with an aggressive single-seater layout, announcing the brand's exploration of the new energy direction to the outside world. In January 2022, Jannarelly reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the Italian well-known engineering and manufacturing company Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT), and MAT undertook the global production tasks for Design-1 at its Turin factory. In 2023, Anthony Jannarelly was appointed as Chief Designer by British sports car manufacturer Caterham, helping Caterham shape future product design language beyond the existing Seven series in an advisory capacity.
From 2024 to 2025, Jannarelly entered a new stage of development. In January 2025, the brand released the restomod model Ælla-60, based on the Ferrari 360, under the sub-brand "Art Machines by Anthony Jannarelly". That same year, the brand frequently appeared on the streets of Dubai in the Middle East with limited sports cars, continuously deepening its presence in the custom sports car niche market.
Jannarelly's product line follows a development path of "customization, low volume, multi-version", and has formed three core product series.
Design-1 Series: Brand's first mass-produced model, debuted in 2016, positioned as a two-seater convertible retro sports car (Roadster), offering Roadster, Coupe, and Aero three body shapes. Appearance inspired by 1960s Le Mans racers, integrating line elements from classic racers like the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. Structure adopts a steel-aluminum mixed tubular space frame chassis. Body made of fiberglass and optional carbon fiber materials. Curb weight ranges between 710 kg to 850 kg depending on configuration. Powered by a 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated engine (VQ series) provided by Nissan, output varies between 325 hp and 371 N·m. Matches a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, 0-100 km/h acceleration under 4 seconds. Design-1 was originally planned to be limited to 499 units, and offers highly personalized customization options—users can independently choose body color, carbon fiber material seats, three body styles, and details like Nardi or Momo steering wheels. In 2020, the brand released the Design-1 UK Edition special version, totaling 5 units, featuring Union Jack livery and exclusive badges, priced at approximately 111,549 GBP (excluding tax).
Design-X1: Brand's second sports car, released in 2018, is the all-electric version of the Design-1. Appearance retains the retro styling of Design-1; the rear exhaust pipes were removed due to the all-electric drive characteristics, and perforated cooling covers were added behind the driver's seat. Interior forms a sharp distinction from Design-1—changed from dual-seater layout to an aggressive, pure single-seater layout, equipped with multi-point seatbelts, aiming to provide an ultimate driving experience fully focused on the driver. All body parts and assembly were completed at the Dubai studio. The official party did not reveal specific power parameters and mass production schedule for Design-X1, but this move indicated an early signal of the brand's exploration towards electrification.
Ælla-60: Brand's restomod model based on the Ferrari 360 platform, officially released in January 2025, operated by the sub-brand Art Machines by Anthony Jannarelly. This car uses a late 1990s Ferrari 360 Modena as the "donor car", equipped with a 3.6L V8 engine (473 hp / approx. 473 PS), matched with a six-speed manual transmission. Curb weight approx. 1130 kg. Appearance adopts a carbon fiber and aluminum alloy monocoque structure. Lines integrate 1960s racer curves and butterfly-style opening door designs. Interior minimalist style—no redundant screens, only basic gauges and racing seats. Ælla-60 is limited to 60 units globally, starting price 865,000 EUR (approx. 723,000 GBP), first delivery planned to start in 2026.
Jannarelly is positioned as a top-tier handmade custom sports car manufacturer. The brand does not pursue sales volume scale, and publicly available sales data is extremely limited. Design-1 from 2016 production to the 2020s, global cumulative production is estimated to be only a few dozen units. Original design capacity was about 30 units, production pace was slow with handcrafted details.
At the pricing level, the Design-1 base Launch Edition starts at approx. 84,000 USD. UK Edition price is approx. 111,549 GBP (approx. 140,000 USD), benchmarking against Porsche 911. Ælla-60 unit price 865,000 EUR, positioning has entered the top-tier restomod market. As of the end of 2025, Jannarelly is still classified by industry data platform Tracxn as a company "Unfunded". The brand has long maintained a light asset operation model; after reaching production outsourcing cooperation with MAT in 2022, manufacturing cost structure was further optimized. Currently, Jannarelly has not yet entered the Chinese market, but maintains a limited customer base through exclusive dealer networks in the Middle East, Europe, and the US.
Jannarelly's technology system is highly concentrated on the fusion of lightweight engineering, retro chassis, and modern power.
Tubular Space Frame Chassis Technology: Design-1 adopts a tubular space frame structure made of a mix of steel and aluminum alloy. This is the classic chassis form of 1960s racers. This structure significantly reduced the overall vehicle weight; bare weight as low as 710 kg (approx. 1,565 lbs). Ælla-60 upgraded to carbon fiber and aluminum mixed monocoque technology, weight controlled at 1130 kg level.
Nissan VQ V6 Engine Custom Adaptation: The brand selected Nissan's prestigious VQ35DE 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 engine for Design-1. After custom tuning, it can output a power range of 304 to 325 hp. The engine adopts mid-engine rear-wheel drive layout, matched with a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, providing raw mechanical driving feedback.
Composite Body Craftsmanship: With the support of partner Frédéric Juillot's composite material professional capabilities, the body panels of the brand's full series of models are made of fiberglass (standard version) or pre-impregnated carbon fiber (optional version). Carbon fiber solution can further reduce weight by approx. 6% while ensuring strength, simultaneously endowing the body with a unique texture quality.
Restomod Re-engineering Technology: Ælla-60 showcases the brand's cutting-edge engineering capabilities—reshaping a modern carbon fiber monocoque body onto the original Ferrari 360 chassis. Internally equipped with an upgraded naturally aspirated V8 engine (473 hp), paired with fully custom suspension tuning and chassis optimization. This technology marks Jannarelly's full move from a "lightweight retro sports car manufacturer" to the high-end restomod customization field.
Jannarelly established a global brand vision from its inception, with its market network covering the local Middle East, Europe, and the US.
Local Middle East Market: The brand cooperates with Tomini Classics. Tomini Classics officially became Jannarelly's exclusive dealer in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) since July 2017. Both parties also cooperated to develop the Tomini Classics Special Edition Design-1, integrating elements like the early Porsche 911 dog-tooth pattern interior and wood steering wheel.
European Market: France is the brand's earliest expanded overseas market; the first official dealer is Marcassus Sport, headquartered in Toulouse. In 2020, the brand officially announced entering the UK market, launching five Design-1 UK Editions, providing two ordering channels—online direct ordering or physical store ordering, with London setting up brand display and delivery stations.
US Market: The brand chose VanDouble Enterprises as the US market importer in 2017.
Production Network: The brand completed the production and assembly of all parts at the Dubai studio in the early stage. In 2022, reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Italian Manifattura Automobili Torino, transferring Design-1's global production tasks to MAT's Turin factory, marking a major leap in the brand's production capability.
Jannarelly's future strategy is clearly advancing along two parallel paths: restomod high-end customization and new energy. In the restomod sector, the Ælla-60 is scheduled to complete its first customer deliveries in 2026. Italian engineering firm Podium Advanced Technologies, known for its work on projects like the Glickenhaus SCG 007C, will be responsible for its manufacturing. Looking ahead, the brand may continue to expand its "Art Machines by Anthony Jannarelly" sub-brand, developing additional restomod projects based on classic cars using a similar business model.
In the new energy domain, although the brand has not yet announced a specific mass production schedule for the Design-X1, the accelerating global trend toward electrification presents a significant opportunity. Leveraging founder Anthony Jannarelly’s experience as a design consultant for Caterham’s all-electric Project V, Jannarelly may use the Design-X1 as a bridge to transition from internal combustion engine customization to electric high-end customization.
Operationally, strategic cooperation with MAT and a robust global distribution network will continue to support the brand’s goal of low-volume, scalable expansion. Jannarelly aims to transcend the traditional label of a "Dubai-based small-scale sports car manufacturer," gradually evolving into an international high-end custom car brand. By maintaining retro aesthetics and extreme lightweight engineering as its core philosophy, the brand intends to deliver a richer product matrix to the world’s most discerning collectors and driving enthusiasts in the global high-end custom and restomod markets.
