The JAC E30X is the first A0-segment pure electric model built on JAC Group's dedicated DI EV platform, known domestically in China as the "JAC Yiwei 3" and positioned as an urban pure electric hatchback. The model was launched in China in June 2023 with an initial starting price of RM97,900, which subsequently adjusted to around RM69,900 amid market shifts. In overseas markets, the E30X is anchored by its "Global Standard, Global Car" positioning, having made its foray into countries and regions including the UAE, Chile, and Colombia. In the Chilean market, the starting price is approximately 19.99 million Chilean pesos (approx. RM156,000), while in Germany it starts at around €26,490. Dimensionally, the car measures 4,025 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase, delivering compact-segment cabin roominess within a small-car footprint.
The JAC E30X adopts a distinctive "Bubble Aesthetics" design philosophy, combining rounded, curvaceous body lines with bionic headlamps to express an inviting sense of warmth and protection. Exterior highlights include flush pop-out electric door handles, "Angel Eye" crystal LED headlamps, a 1.45 m panoramic glass roof, and bespoke tri-colour petal-style alloy wheels. The updated 2025 model introduces a refreshed front fascia featuring dual bottle-shaped headlamp clusters and a full-width LED light bar, with its redesigned grille treatment drawing significant market attention. Inside, the seats are upholstered in PVC synthetic leather with a natural grain texture and soft flocking finish, offering a supple, skin-friendly feel alongside hard-wearing, easy-to-clean qualities, while the backing fabric uses recycled yarn to reflect sustainable design principles. Thanks to its innovative material applications and eco-conscious execution, the E30X clinched the "Best Material and Sustainable Development Award" at the 2025 Turin Auto Design Awards (TADA).
The JAC E30X is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor available in various power outputs ranging from 60 kW to 100 kW, generating maximum torque between 150 Nm and 175 Nm and achieving a top speed of 150 km/h. The car features a 9-in-1 integrated electric drive unit that packages all high-voltage components except the traction battery, reducing overall volume by 40% compared to the previous generation. Across the line-up, power is supplied by Gotion High-Tech lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs offered in 34.5 kWh, 41 kWh, and 51.5 kWh capacities, delivering CLTC-rated electric ranges of 330 km, 405 km, and 505 km respectively. Via DC fast charging, a 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes approximately 30 minutes, whereas AC charging takes between 7.5 and 12 hours depending on the battery size. The 405 km and 505 km variants complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.8 seconds, delivering nimble throttle and handling response.
The JAC E30X utilises a front-wheel drive (FWD) layout, riding on MacPherson independent front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension setup, paired with front ventilated disc brakes, rear solid disc brakes, and an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is standard across the range, alongside a 3-in-1 intelligent braking system. Benefiting from the packaging efficiency of the 9-in-1 e-drive system, the vehicle achieves a class-leading turning radius of just 4.95 metres, offering exceptional agility when manoeuvring through tight city streets. Its 100-0 km/h stopping distance is rated at 37 metres, leading its segment. The vehicle is also equipped with ABS, EBD, electronic stability and traction control, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to ensure composed ride stability across various road conditions.
The E30X is equipped with a full-size smart cockpit highlighted by a 15.6-inch HD infotainment touchscreen powered by the iFlytek Feiyu 3.0 operating system, featuring 8GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4-zone voice recognition, and "see and say" intuitive voice interaction. The infotainment setup deeply integrates the Yiwei OS co-developed with Huawei and iFlytek, plugging into Huawei's in-car app ecosystem and enabling seamless conveniences like proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and walk-away auto-lock. For climate comfort, a heat pump air-conditioning system is fitted as standard across all variants, while the driver's seat benefits from 6-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and memory functions. Rear air-con vents, a wireless smartphone charging pad, an on-board refrigerator, and illuminated vanity mirrors with 360° ring lights are also fully featured. Further cabin appointments include 64-colour ambient lighting, a multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel, a rotary gear selector, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.
In terms of passive safety, the E30X is engineered to meet C-NCAP five-star crash safety standards. It adopts a Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery-chassis integration structure with four longitudinal body rails, two dedicated battery longitudinal beams, and seven cross members; combined with multiple closed-loop structures and 65% high-strength steel application, this delivers a torsional rigidity of 30,000 Nm/deg—1.3 times higher than segment rivals. 6 airbags come standard across all variants. On the active safety front, the vehicle offers over 18 intelligent driving assist functions, including a 360-degree panoramic camera, 540-degree transparent chassis view, Auto Parking Assist (APA), remote parking assist, and optional remote-controlled driving. The sensor array comprises 5 cameras, 3 millimetre-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, facilitating Level 2+ (L2+) driver assistance capabilities including Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), and Door Open Warning (DOW).
The JAC E30X registered modest sales figures in its domestic market, with cumulative Chinese deliveries standing at 24,833 units as of July 2025. In contrast, the E30X has posted strong performances in export markets—commanding an overseas entry price premium of approximately 2.28 times over its domestic base price, while continuing to draw steady customer interest backed by its solid build quality. In February 2024, JAC Yiwei flagged off its initial export batch of 10,000 EVs bound for the Gulf region and Latin America. In May of the same year, the first batch of 300 Yiwei 3 units was delivered to one of the UAE's premier automotive dealerships. In July 2024, the GCC-spec E30X was officially launched in Dubai. In 2025, the E30X made its debut in Chile and Colombia, serving as a key pillar in JAC Motors' overseas new energy roadmap. In terms of customer reception, the model holds an overall rating of 4.47 out of 5 stars, reflecting high user satisfaction with product quality. As JAC Group's maiden global EV built on its 2nd-generation DI platform, the E30X spearheads the international expansion of Chinese new energy vehicles under its "Global Standard, Global Car" vision.
