DFSK Glory 560

2026-09-27 21:30:00

Model Overview

The Glory 560 is an important model under the Glory range by China's Dongfeng Sokon Motor Co., Ltd. (DFSK), positioned between the larger Glory 580 and compact SUVs like the Glory 500. Carrying the global tagline "Get you forward", it is a family crossover SUV that emphasizes high value-for-money and a spacious 7-seater cabin.

First introduced to global markets around 2018, the Glory 560 is slightly more compact than the Glory 580, with its core highlight being the flexible 5-seater and 5+2 seating layouts. Catering not just to daily commutes but also to family weekend trips and temporary cargo loading, it stands as a quintessential multi-purpose vehicle. In China, the DFSK brand primarily focuses on commercial vehicles and entry-level passenger cars, making the Glory 560 a representative model during its transition into passenger vehicles. In overseas markets, its key rivals include Japanese multi-purpose family SUVs such as the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Avanza.

Design Language

The Glory 560 features a robust and mature exterior design tailored to the mainstream tastes of global family SUV buyers. With its well-proportioned body, the front end sports a dual-slat grille flanked by headlamps that visually widen the stance for an imposing first impression. Projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) come standard across the range. The 2021 facelift introduced an integrated full-width front bumper design, while blacked-out D-pillar styling creates a floating-roof effect, complemented by functional roof rails.

In terms of dimensions, the standard model measures 4,515 mm long, 1,815 mm wide, and 1,735 mm tall. The 2021 facelift model sees its overall length slightly stretched to 4,560 mm, with a standard wheelbase of 2,690 mm (alongside selected long-wheelbase variants at 2,780 mm). Inside, the cabin adopts a family-friendly aesthetic with two-tone trim and high-gloss accent panels. The 2021 update brought in a floating central touchscreen, dual-tone red-and-black leather upholstery, and diamond-stitched patterns to enhance cabin refinement.

Powertrain and Performance

The Glory 560 employs a regionally tailored powertrain strategy, offering several efficient petrol engine options:

  • 1.5-litre Turbocharged Inline-4 Petrol Engine (SFG15T / SFG15TA): The main global powerplant, producing 150 PS at 5,600 rpm, with peak torque rated at 220 Nm when paired with a CVT and 230 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission. Turbo boost kicks in from just 1,800 rpm, delivering solid low-end torque performance.

  • 1.8-litre Naturally Aspirated Inline-4 Petrol Engine (SFG18): Offered in specific regional markets, delivering 139 PS at 6,000 rpm and 187 Nm of torque.

  • 2.0-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine (SFG20A): Introduced for the 2021 model year, outputting 143 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque.

All variants feature a transversely mounted front-engine, front-wheel-drive (FF) layout, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT with 6 simulated ratios. Fuel is supplied by a 50-litre fuel tank, with fuel consumption figures varying across different engine and transmission pairings. Top speed varies depending on the market specification, reaching upwards of 160 km/h.

Chassis and Handling

Built on a front-wheel-drive monocoque chassis, the Glory 560 utilises a front MacPherson strut independent suspension. The rear suspension setup varies by market: entry variants feature a torsion beam semi-independent setup to maximise cabin room and cost efficiency, while higher-spec trims—such as the 2022 1.5T Super Urban Edition—are upgraded with a multi-link independent rear suspension for better ride comfort and handling stability. Braking is handled by ventilated discs up front and solid discs at the rear, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) as standard. It is also equipped with Electric Power Steering (EPS) and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheel fitments range from 17-inch to 18-inch alloy wheels, with 18-inch rims standard on trims like the 2022 1.5T Super Urban Edition. Standard active chassis electronics include Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and Hill Hold Control (HHC).

Cabin and Equipment

The interior of the Glory 560 is geared towards providing practical comfort for family journeys. Available in 5-seater or 2+3+2 7-seater configurations, both the second and third rows can be folded flat to significantly expand cargo capacity. The driver's seat features 6-way power adjustment, while the front passenger seat offers 4-way manual adjustment.

On the tech front, an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit comes standard across the range, supporting GPS navigation, Bluetooth, and smartphone screen mirroring for iOS and Android. Other family-friendly amenities include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, up to 29 practical storage compartments, and manual air conditioning. Higher-spec variants further gain a panoramic sunroof (or panoramic glass roof) to enhance cabin airiness and perceived quality.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety-wise, the Glory 560 covers the essential active and passive bases. Passive safety includes dual front SRS airbags, a high-strength cage body structure, and rear ISOFIX child seat anchor points.

Active safety and driver assistance kit comprises Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and Hill Hold Control (HHC). For parking convenience, mid-to-high variants are fitted with a reverse camera or a 360-degree surround-view monitor. The vehicle does not feature Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), aligning with its product philosophy of delivering reliable core safety at an accessible price point.

Market Performance and Reception

As a cornerstone model in DFSK's global expansion, the Glory 560 has garnered positive market feedback internationally. In Indonesia, it was crowned Best Compact SUV at IIMS 2019 and logged over 588 test-drive registrations during the motor show, making it the most popular individual model at the event. It was competitively positioned in Indonesia with a price tag ranging between IDR 189 million and IDR 239 million (approx. RM88,000 to RM110,000). In Thailand, early-bird promotional pricing for the 2022 model was set at THB 749,000 (approx. RM142,000) for the first 100 units, while in Brunei it retailed from BND 28,660 (approx. RM151,000). In Colombia, it was priced around COP 57,990,000 (approx. RM102,000). The model has also made inroads into South Asian markets like Nepal.

As a mass-market family SUV, the Glory 560 has carved out a solid niche in Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East—markets traditionally dominated by Japanese marques—thanks to its 7-seater practicality, proven powertrain reliability, and aggressive pricing. While it may still trail mainstream international rivals in brand prestige and advanced semi-autonomous tech, the Glory 560 stands as a strong testament to the cost efficiency and manufacturing capabilities of Chinese carmakers, offering global emerging-market buyers an accessible, value-driven motoring option.
