BOCHI is a Chinese high-end coachbuilding and vehicle customisation marque under Zhejiang Xingchi Automobile Co., Ltd., headquartered in Jianshan New District, Haining, Zhejiang Province. The brand specialises in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of luxury multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and motorhomes (RVs), utilising premium donor models such as the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Sprinter, and Vito, alongside imported Volkswagen and Iveco platforms for bespoke modifications. As an official certified customisation partner of Mercedes-Benz, BOCHI adheres to its core philosophy of "Crafted by Artisans, Inherited by Technology", catering to the domestic elite corporate transport and bespoke lifestyle markets with luxury vehicles that blend refined aesthetics, advanced technology, and supreme comfort.

Development History
The origins of the BOCHI marque date back to October 2013, when Zhejiang Xingchi Automobile Co., Ltd. was established in Haining, Zhejiang, with an investment of RM150,000,000. The production facility covers 97 mu (approximately 65,000 square metres), backed by a registered capital of RM90,000,000 under legal representative Zhao Jun. From its inception, the company set its sights on a high-tier path in the specialised vehicle customisation sector.
In September 2014, Xingchi Auto obtained official accreditation from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). By 2015, it secured coachbuilding type-approval certifications, successfully rolling out its first commercial vehicle. Between July and August 2016, the firm earned authorisation from Fujian Benz and secured the coveted "VanPartner by Mercedes-Benz" certification, officially establishing its role as an authorised Mercedes-Benz partner. In July 2017, Volkswagen Germany further granted brand authorisation, expanding the coachbuilder's base chassis portfolio.
Amid intense competition in the commercial vehicle segment in 2011, the Xingchi Auto team set out to craft bespoke luxury MPVs tailored to Chinese aesthetic tastes and mobile-office requirements, which led to the creation of the premium BOCHI brand. In 2018, Xingchi Auto collaborated with renowned Italian styling house IDG (formerly Italdesign Giugiaro) to establish the ultra-luxury sub-brand VULCANUS, followed by the formal establishment and plant completion of the BOCHI RV brand in 2019. BOCHI subsequently gained official Iveco accreditation in 2020 and was awarded the FAW Hongqi Coaster coachbuilding project in 2024, continuously broadening its brand footprint across multiple OEM platforms.
Brand Portfolio and Product Lineup
BOCHI's product portfolio is anchored on a "two-brand, multi-series" framework covering both executive transport and touring lifestyles, led by VULCANUS and the core BOCHI brand.
VULCANUS is an ultra-luxury sub-brand jointly crafted by Xingchi Auto and Italy's IDG Design, targeting the pinnacle of the executive luxury MPV segment. Its flagship model, the VULCANUS EXPANSE, takes design inspiration from traditional Chinese philosophy and cosmic exploration, measuring 5,400 × 1,928 × 1,970 mm with a wrap-around starry grille set with 129 metallic stars. Inside, it boasts premium airline-style captain seats, a starlight headliner, and a 39.8-inch curved widescreen display. The lineup includes variants such as Xinghuan and Xinghang, several of which were highlighted in exclusive RM1,000,000-class showcase events in 2025.
BOCHI Executive Commercial Vehicle Lineupencompasses several series, including the BOCHI V Series (based on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class), the BOCHI Sprinter Series (based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter), the BOCHI T6 Series (based on the Volkswagen T6), and the BOCHI NV Series. Mainstream variants are powered by an M274 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission, churning out 155 kW (211 PS) and 350 Nm of torque. The NV Welfare Vehicle is a 4-door, 7-seater mobility MPV measuring 5,370 × 1,928 × 2,050 mm with a 3,430 mm wheelbase, powered by a 2.0T engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission in a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (FR) layout. Furthermore, BOCHI offers bespoke versions such as the Xingyue and VC series, featuring options for low-profile roof, high-roof, and roof rack configurations.
BOCHI RV Lineuprepresents a strategic focus for the marque in recent years. Key models include the Payani Class C dual-slide-out motorhome built on the imported Iveco New Daily chassis (equipped with a 3.0T turbo diesel engine, an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and air suspension), and the Traveler dual-slide-out motorhome based on the locally built Iveco automatic chassis (3.0T diesel engine, producing 170 PS and 400 Nm of torque), alongside compact-to-midsize offerings like the Bozhuan BS01.

In terms of brand standing, BOCHI holds more than 60 technical patents and has consistently garnered industry accolades from authoritative automotive bodies, firmly cementing its status as a top-tier core brand under Zhejiang Xingchi Automobile Co., Ltd.. Across the industry, BOCHI enjoys strong brand equity within the RM1,000,000-class bespoke vehicle circle, carving out a distinctive reputation built on "bespoke craftsmanship, exclusivity, and supreme luxury".
Core Technologies
As one of the first official Mercedes-Benz authorised coachbuilders in China, BOCHI's core technological prowess is built upon complete vehicle customisation craftsmanship, bespoke interior design, and smart manufacturing.
Chassis Tuning and Powertrain: All BOCHI vehicles are engineered based on genuine donor vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Sprinter, retaining the factory longitudinally mounted M274 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (all-aluminium cylinder head and block) paired with a Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission (or 7G-Tronic on select early units), producing 155 kW (211 PS) and 350 Nm of peak torque. Featuring direct fuel injection and turbocharging, the powertrain complies with strict China VI emission regulations. The chassis retains the factory Mercedes-Benz air suspension system with Comfort, Sport, Allroad, and Manual drive modes, allowing ride height and damping characteristics to be adjusted via the DYNAMIC selector below the central infotainment display.
Bespoke Interior Craftsmanshipserves as BOCHI's flagship competitive advantage. In collaboration with Italy's IDG Design (formerly Italdesign Giugiaro), the brand incorporates avant-garde design philosophies into premier models like VULCANUS. Interior highlights include starry front grilles, first-class massage seats, crystal starlight headliners, Focal premium surround sound audio from France, onboard dual-temperature refrigerators, and fold-out executive workstations, seamlessly blending visual grandeur with practical functionality. High-grade materials such as Nappa leather, Alcantara, piano black trims, and genuine wood inlays are lavishly appointed and hand-stitched to maintain strict quality standards across all custom builds. The vehicles also come equipped with Level 2 semi-autonomous advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Smart Manufacturing and Quality Assurance: The Xingchi production facility covers roughly 65,000 square metres and is designed according to Industry 4.0 standards. It features flexible assembly lines and dedicated multi-chassis parallel coachbuilding bays. Holding nearly 100 patents and OEM authorisations, Xingchi is recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise and is ISO9001 certified. In automotive body engineering, BOCHI has co-founded an automotive industrial design R&D centre with academic institutions like Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, continuously advancing lightweight material applications and structural optimisation.
Global Market Footprint
BOCHI's overseas expansion centres on technical partnerships and high-net-worth client development. On the technical front, the brand's premier models leverage styling from Italy's IDG Design, infusing exterior design, cabin themes, and bespoke componentry with world-class industrial design, creating a distinctive "Made in China + Designed in Italy" value proposition in the luxury coachbuilding market.
On the export front, Xingchi Auto accelerated its completely built-up (CBU) vehicle exports to global markets in 2025. During the same year, a delegation from VULCANUS Russia visited Xingchi Auto for on-site technical exchanges, conducting in-depth discussions regarding vehicle procurement and bespoke developmental programmes. This milestone demonstrates BOCHI's readiness to compete globally and meet the stringent quality expectations of elite international clientele. Furthermore, through deep collaboration across global automotive supply chains, Xingchi Auto continues to refine its service capabilities for high-end international corporate clients, supported by full import and export operational licensing that ensures solid regulatory compliance for future global ventures.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, BOCHI has mapped out a dual-track strategy of "deepening domestic market presence alongside global exploration".
In the domestic market, BOCHI will continue to capitalise on chassis platforms from premier automakers like Mercedes-Benz to roll out next-generation luxury MPVs and premium motorhomes. The lineup already spans VULCANUS, the BOCHI V Series, and the Sprinter Series, with future plans focused on expanding the BOCHI V Series, VC Series, and next-gen electrified commercial vehicles to reinforce its bespoke market differentiation.
On the international stage, the marque is actively expanding its global footprint. The 2025 technical visit by VULCANUS Russia laid a solid foundation for volume exports to Russia and Eastern European markets. Moving forward, BOCHI aims to leverage its coachbuilt portfolio to penetrate high-net-worth markets across Russian-speaking regions, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Simultaneously, the brand will pursue comprehensive technical collaborations and component sourcing partnerships with European carmakers, elevating BOCHI from a domestic leader to a global luxury marque.
Aligned with global trends toward vehicle electrification and smart mobility, BOCHI is accelerating its development in electric commercial vehicle conversions. The company is actively building technical capabilities around Mercedes-Benz EQ electric platforms, harnessing the R&D capabilities of the Xingchi Automotive Industrial Design Centre to craft bespoke private cabins tailored to future luxury mobility. Guided by its mission of "Customising a Beautiful Life", BOCHI stands at the nexus of legacy coachbuilding and smart digital manufacturing, steadfast in its brand creed to "Only Surpass, Never Follow", delivering unparalleled bespoke luxury travel experiences for elite clients across China and worldwide.
