The Audi RS6 Avant is Audi Sport GmbH's flagship high-performance estate based on the A6 Avant, standing as one of the most iconic "super wagons" in the RS performance stable. First introduced in 2002, the inaugural C5 generation featured a 4.2-litre biturbo V8, setting the benchmark for the high-performance estate segment. Over the past two decades, the nameplate has evolved across four generations: the C6 (5.0-litre biturbo V10), C7 (4.0-litre biturbo V8), and the current C8 (4.0-litre biturbo V8 with a 48V mild-hybrid system). The 2025/2026 RS6 Avant currently on sale in China is officially distributed via Audi (Import).

Positioned as an executive high-performance estate (super wagon), the RS6 Avant's defining appeal lies in seamlessly blending track-bred performance with everyday family practicality. It adopts a 5-door, 5-seater estate layout, measuring 4,995-5,018 mm in length, 1,951 mm in width, and 1,480-1,483 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,924-2,930 mm. Kerb weight ranges between 1,935 kg and 1,950 kg.
Pricing-wise, the 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant Performance carries an official retail price of RM1,453,800. The track-focused RS6 Avant GT, strictly limited to 660 units worldwide with an allocation of just 66 units for the Chinese market, commands an official retail price of RM1,906,600. Internationally, the 2026 RS6 Avant starts from USD 126,600 in the US market. In Taiwan, the RS6 Avant is priced at RM6,990,000 (NTD), while the Performance variant retails at RM7,400,000 (NTD).
Visually, the RS6 Avant builds upon the standard A6 Avant with an aggressive dose of RS-exclusive performance styling. Up front, it sports the signature Singleframe hexagonal grille finished with a distinctive red RS 6 emblem. From the side profile, the most striking feature is the muscular wheel arches, flared out by a substantial 4 cm on each side, which, combined with the low-slung stance and taut character lines, delivers an imposing road presence. Out back, it is fitted with dual oval RS sport exhaust tailpipes. Matrix LED laser headlights with dynamic turn indicators come standard, paired with 21-inch 10-spoke star-design alloy wheels (with 22-inch sport wheels available as an option). Exterior colour options include Daytona Grey, Madeira Brown, Sebring Black, Tango Red, Florett Silver, Nardo Grey, Glacier White, Ascari Blue, and Mythos Black.
The limited-run RS6 Avant GT takes styling inspiration from the legendary Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car. It features a bespoke carbon-fibre bonnet, while the front wings are also fabricated entirely from carbon fibre for the first time. Complementing the exterior are exclusive 22-inch 6-spoke alloys and high-gloss carbon-fibre wing mirror caps. The rear showcases prominent "RS 6 GT" badging, complemented by a substantial roof spoiler and a race-derived rear diffuser to optimise downforce. The GT edition is available in five exterior shades: Arkona White, Nardo Grey, Chronos Grey Metallic, Madeira Brown Metallic, and Mythos Black Metallic.
Inside, the cabin retains the A6's clean architecture while infusing bespoke RS touches. It adopts the signature RS multi-screen cockpit layout, comprising a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and an 8.6-inch climate control display. Drivers get a flat-bottom RS sport steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. Premium leather and Alcantara upholstery dominate the cabin, accented by carbon-fibre trim inlays. The GT variant's interior is finished in black with exclusive red and copper contrast stitching, paired with all-new RS bucket seats trimmed in leather and Dinamica microfibre. The centre console is individually numbered, denoting each unit of the 660-car global production run.
Under the bonnet, the RS6 Avant houses the EA825 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine co-developed by Audi and Porsche, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The powerplant delivers a massive output of 463 kW (630 PS / 621 hp) and a peak torque of 850 Nm, mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The Performance variant completes the 0-100 km/h century sprint in just 3.4 seconds, with the GT variant trimming that down to 3.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h on the standard model, while the GT can reach a blistering 305 km/h. WLTC combined fuel consumption is rated at approximately 12.2 L/100 km.
For Taiwan-market specifications, the standard RS6 Avant delivers 560 PS / 5,700–6,600 rpm and 71.4 kgm / 1,750–5,500 rpm, whereas the Performance version generates 605 PS / 6,100–6,800 rpm. The 0-100 km/h sprint times are clocked at 3.7 seconds and 3.9 seconds, respectively.
Riding on the MLB Evo platform, the RS6 Avant features a five-link independent suspension front and rear, utilising extensive aluminium components to reduce unsprung mass. Power is distributed through Audi's hallmark quattro permanent all-wheel drive system featuring a mechanical Torsen C-type centre differential. Under normal driving conditions, torque is split 40:60 front-to-rear for a rear-biased dynamic; under demanding conditions, up to 70% can be directed to the front axle, or up to 85% to the rear. Adaptive air suspension comes standard, automatically adjusting ride height and damper stiffness based on road conditions and drive modes. Select variants feature the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) system to actively counter body roll during spirited cornering. Braking is handled by ventilated disc brakes all around, while the GT edition benefits from a uniquely calibrated chassis and suspension tune.
In terms of infotainment and connectivity, the RS6 Avant comes equipped with the Audi MIB3 infotainment system, featuring keyless entry, remote vehicle monitoring, and intelligent voice control.
Convenience and comfort equipment include standard adaptive air suspension, four-zone automatic climate control, head-up display (HUD), a 360-degree surround-view camera, 30-colour ambient lighting, and a powered tailgate. Heated front seats come standard, with seat ventilation and massage functions available as options. The rear seats can also be optioned with heating, while the steering wheel is heated as standard. Boot capacity is rated at 605 litres, expanding to a cavernous 1,680 litres with the rear seats folded down.
A high-end Bang & Olufsen premium sound system is available as an option. The GT variant is fitted with bespoke RS bucket seats, with the dashboard, centre console, and door waistlines trimmed in black Dinamica microfibre.
The RS6 Avant is equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The active safety suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) / Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Parking is made effortless thanks to standard front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree surround-view camera. Passive safety is bolstered by a comprehensive multi-airbag setup and a high-tensile crash structure. In the US market, the vehicle comes backed by a 4-year / 50,000-mile standard and powertrain warranty.
The RS6 Avant commands an iconic status in the global super-wagon segment, rivalling the likes of the BMW M5 Touring (G99) and Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate. In the first half of 2025, global orders for the RS6 surged by 41% year-on-year, hitting a record high. Automotive analysts attribute this spike to rivals moving towards heavier plug-in hybrid setups (like the BMW M5 Touring) or axing performance estates altogether (such as the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo), leaving the purely petrol-powered V8 RS6 as the "last bastion of mechanical purity".
In the Chinese market, sales figures remain exclusive—recording 158 units in 2022, 121 units in 2023, and 102 units in 2024. This niche volume is largely due to the late introduction of the RS performance sub-brand locally, combined with the premium price bracket of high-performance estates that strictly targets discerning enthusiasts.
Motoring reviews widely praise the RS6 Avant for flawlessly marrying 630 PS of ferocious performance with the everyday versatility of a family estate. Its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivers immense power reserves, while the quattro AWD system ensures unshakable all-weather traction. As a pure-ICE V8 super wagon, the Audi RS6 Avant continues to captivate driving enthusiasts seeking a machine that can conquer the track on weekends and effortlessly handle the school run and grocery shopping on weekdays. In an era dominated by rapid electrification, the RS6 Avant stands defiantly as a glorious tribute to big-displacement internal combustion power.
