The 30th Greater Bay Area Motor Show of Hong Kong, Macao and Guangzhou opened officially on May 29, 2026. SAIC Volkswagen announced that its new model ID. ERA 5S will be launched in the third quarter of this year.

As the second new car in the ID. ERA series, the ID. ERA 5S is Volkswagen's first sedan globally equipped with advanced City NOA intelligent driving features. It is fitted with the "Xingyun Intelligent Driving" advanced driver assistance system and the "Yunqi Smart Cockpit" intelligent vehicle cabin system, with a comprehensive upgrade in intelligent configurations.

In terms of exterior design, the new model adopts a fashionable and dynamic fastback body style. The front end features a minimalist and sharp look with a closed grille design, appearing cleaner and more elegant compared to previous models. The front headlights are highly technological, featuring multi-faceted light sources and offering high recognizability. The lower active air intake grille not only improves driving efficiency and reduces aerodynamic drag but also sharpens the front line; the air guides on both sides of the grille blend seamlessly with the front face, creating a cohesive and integrated appearance. Additionally, the side mirrors are equipped with exclusive blue indicator lights for intelligent driving, highlighting its identity as an intelligent vehicle.

The body details are equally dynamic. The small rear spoiler at the tail is slightly raised, paired with sharp body lines and a fastback posture, creating a strong sense of sportiness. The rear end adopts a concave three-dimensional design, exuding quality and a touch of luxury.

Regarding powertrain, the ID. ERA 5S is equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system. The engine has a maximum power of 77kW, the driving motor has a rated power of 57.6kW, and a peak power of 130kW.
