The automotive world has been quite lively lately with new cars launching one after another. However, there is a piece of news I think is more worth mentioning than a product launch: BYD has signed an agreement with the Dongrun Public Welfare Foundation to jointly promote youth football. Originally, I thought this was just a "show", but after watching it, I realized it's truly not like that, and it's actually getting more substantive.

I looked up the Dongrun Public Welfare Foundation. It is a legitimate national non-public fundraising 5A-level foundation, deeply engaged in supporting youth education. It has won the China Charity Award twice. In the ten years since its establishment, its projects have covered 31 provinces and regions across the country, 324 counties, and benefited over 100,000 young people.
The Dongrun Cup · National Youth Football Tournament started in 2022 and officially kicked off in 2023. It has cumulatively attracted over 1,000 school teams and more than 10,000 players and coaches to participate. Over 30 participating players were selected for the National Youth Team, National Middle School Team, and U-series elite training camps.

Partnering with the Dongrun Public Welfare Foundation, BYD was not impulsive. In 2010, BYD established a charitable foundation, deeply working in areas such as education support, poverty alleviation, and disaster relief. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, BYD set up a 3 billion yuan education charity fund to inspire over 6,000 students.
It is worth mentioning that BYD pays great attention to the development of Chinese football. It not only supports China Football Little Stars and Audition for the Future, but also focuses on mountainous school campuses or clubs in remote counties such as Yili, Xinjiang; Ningshan, Shaanxi; Xingren, Guizhou; Pu'an; and Yuanbao.

Since 2024, BYD has continuously organized youth footballers to travel to Germany, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Italy, Brazil, and Mexico. Over 200 instances have exchanged and learned with top overseas clubs, and also taken them to top venues like the Euro Cup and World Cup to broaden their horizons.
Car owners were also not absent. BYD took owners to engage in charitable activities, delivering supplies to children in remote areas like Xinjiang and Guizhou who love football. It also entered the Guizhou Yuanbao Women's Football Team, opened charity classes, and donated supplies. Cars are no longer just transportation tools, but carriers connecting the brand with charitable causes.

This time partnering with the Dongrun Public Welfare Foundation, the key lies in "going to the grassroots". Empowering the Dongrun Cup · National Youth Football Tournament, focusing on regular high school campus teams, and addressing the shortage of grassroots football resources. Balancing the advancement of football youths and campus popularization, solidifying the foundation for domestic youth football.
Overseas, BYD cooperates with giants like Manchester City, Inter Milan, and PSG, making appearances in international events like the Euro Cup and Copa America, gaining global fan attention. Domestically, BYD directs resources into campuses and counties to fill the gap in grassroots campus football resources.

Final Thoughts
Chinese football needs more football fields, needs to identify and focus on training talented players, and also needs more enterprises and foundations willing to direct resources to counties and regular high school teams. The 3rd Dongrun Cup · National Youth Football Tournament has already kicked off. The BYD cars on the sidelines deserve a thumbs-up!
