It’s really hot! Great Wall ORA 5 GT even features quad exhausts; without making some impact, it wouldn’t be right.
This time ORA isn’t playing games. Both cars take the stage together; one focuses on exterior image, the other on substance and performance. Indeed, there’s more than one way to be flashy. ORA has truly given concrete form to the restless energy of young people. Next, let’s see exactly what makes these two cars so exciting.

One focuses on exterior image, the other digs deep on substance.
First, let’s get clear on these two cars' positioning. This time, the ORA brand is playing the 'one fish, two meals' trick.
ORA 5 Sport Edition focuses on urban fashion, weaving sports aesthetics into the gaps of daily commuting;
ORA 5 GT focuses on handling and sports performance, made specifically for young people unwilling to compromise and holding onto their true selves.

First, look at the ORA 5 Sport Edition. This guy focuses on "visible excitement". Yellow-black, green-white, and multiple two-tone color schemes lead the lineup. A black roof caps the bright yellow body; front splitter, side skirts, and side mirrors all use contrasting color outlines, paired with 5-spoke sport rims and colored calipers. From afar, it looks like a running piece of cyber candy.
The cabin features a black-and-yellow two-tone design with black seats accented by yellow stitching. It retains the comfort of a family vehicle while adding a sporty vibe. More importantly, the roof-mounted LiDAR, paired with the NVIDIA Orin-Y chip, elevates advanced smart driving capabilities to a new height within the 100,000 yuan price bracket. Currently, this model has arrived at dealerships. If you want to inspect the actual vehicle, head to the showroom this weekend; it’s far more tangible than just viewing photos online.

The ORA 5 GT is the one who silently shatters the limits. With a yellow body and black roof, red strips on the front splitter, red rings on the wheels, and red lines on the side skirts, the execution is seamless. The large fixed rear spoiler and quad exhaust design mean it’s enough to make passersby turn around three times, even in factory condition.
The one-piece sport seats in the cockpit are wrapped in suede, with delicate embroidery stitching. The "GT" emblem on the headrest stands out boldly. This isn’t sticker nostalgia; it’s an identity badge.

The chassis was tuned by the original team behind the Great Wall BMW MINI project. The center of gravity is lowered, suspension damping is firm, and steering response is snappy, fully aiming for the "unity of driver and vehicle".
Based on the current ORA 5 EV version's specs—150kW motor, 260N·m torque, and up to 580km CLTC range—it is estimated this model delivers both performance and range fully.

Great Wall played this move right
Let's analyze the market prospects. The current ORA 5 has an official guide price of 99,800 to 133,800 yuan, with limited-time exchange prices dropping to 91,800 yuan. The GT and Sport Editions, added with LiDAR, exclusive kits, and red calipers, are predicted by the industry to likely have starting prices in the 130,000 to 150,000 yuan range.
This price segment happens to be the "sweet spot" for young consumers buying their first car or upgrading. Currently, the home EV market is heavily homogenized. ORA 5's two new models use precise style segmentation: one for urban trendsetters, one for performance players, directly filling this gap.

Let's look at brand sales. On August 2nd, Great Wall Motors released its sales and production report; the overall data is quite impressive.
July Great Wall Motors sales reached 108,067 units, up 3.54% year-on-year, among which 34,651 units were new energy vehicles. Focusing on the five brands under Great Wall Motors: Haval, WEY, Tank, ORA, Great Wall Pickup, ORA's performance can be called the best in the arena. July sales surged to 10,820 units, a 151.63% increase year-on-year. Accumulated sales for the first seven months of this year reached 37,209 units, up 104.36% year-on-year. This growth rate is far ahead within Great Wall's entire portfolio.
Currently, ORA has four models on sale: ORA Good Cat, Ballet Cat, Flash Cat, and ORA 5. Among them, ORA 5 sold 9,596 units alone in July. In the first half of the year, EV version accumulated 6,492 units, fuel version 3,946 units. It is already the undeniable sales pillar of the brand. Once GT and Sport Editions officially roll out, this number will likely go up.

Of course, the significance of these two models extends far beyond the domestic market. Wei Jianjun made a clear statement: "For a long time, when mentioning hatchback coupes, everyone first thinks of joint venture models. In this niche segment, we domestic brands also want to prove ourselves."
He also said: "In the future, both models will be exported, striving to become global cars, so that streets around the world can see the impressive stance coming from China."
This isn't just slogan-shouting. According to reports, ORA sales reached 10,806 units in June 2026, a 229.15% year-on-year increase, having entered over 50 countries and regions. ORA 5 cumulative orders in Thailand exceeded 5,000 units; in Brazil, it sold out within 24 hours of launch. It launched in Madrid, Spain on June 30, simultaneously starting its tour in Italy. Starting in July, it successively landed in Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, and Central & South America.
From Southeast Asia to Europe, from South America to Oceania, ORA has won widespread global market recognition for the product strength of Chinese brands.

Electric EV:
Looking back ten years ago, when mentioning hatchback coupes, the only names popping into the mind were joint venture brands.
Today, our own brands have developed hatchback coupes in two styles, equipped with LiDAR, using suede, and sold to over 50 countries globally. Behind this lies a microcosm of Chinese automobiles shifting from "chasing" to "running alongside".
When the ORA 5 GT appears before you with a quad exhaust and LiDAR, will you still view it with outdated eyes? When streets around the world feature the impressive stance from China, will you still feel "Chinese brands" lack substance? Good looks and a good drive, both can be achieved. This excitement is not just an attitude of young people; it is also the attitude of the Chinese auto industry.
Currently, the ORA 5 Sport Edition has arrived at dealerships, and two new cars are about to officially launch. Friends who are interested, go to the store and experience it personally, and see exactly where this 'So Hot' vibe lies!
