Recent leaks from multiple automotive bloggers indicate that Xiaomi’s long-rumored second brand, SKYNOMAD (Chinese name “Xuntian”), is nearing its official launch. Trademark applications by Xiaomi date back to April 2023, proving that the dual‑brand strategy of “Xiaomi for BEV performance + Xuntian for EREV” was planned from the very beginning.

Low‑camouflage spy shots of the brand‘s first model, codenamed “Kunlun N3,” are circulating widely online. The vehicle adopts a boxy, muscular silhouette with a closed front grille, upright LED headlights and a roof‑mounted LiDAR sensor. Key features include drop‑shaped side mirrors, vertical rear light clusters and a split tailgate. The Kunlun N3 is expected to measure over 5.2 metres in length, with a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 metres. The EREV powertrain will be supported by a 70+ kWh battery pack, delivering a pure electric range of 400‑500 km and a total combined range exceeding 1,500 km.

Xiaomi‘s 2026 delivery target is 550,000 vehicles. By the end of Q1, only around 120,000 units of the SU7, YU7 and Ultra variants had been delivered, leaving an average requirement of 53,000 units per month for the remainder of the year. Xuntian’s three EREV SUVs — Kunlun 10 (compact five‑seat), Kunlun 20 (large five‑seat) and Kunlun 30 (full‑size seven‑seat) — are expected to contribute at least 20,000 units per month starting in the second half of 2026, making the new brand indispensable for hitting the full‑year target.

Pricing is rumoured to range from RMB 200,000 to 450,000, directly targeting the Li Auto L‑series and Aito M‑series. The Kunlun 10 entry model could be priced under RMB 200,000, while the Kunlun 30 potentially reaches up to RMB 350,000. In addition, an elevated campervan variant codenamed “Isle of Man,” featuring a pop‑up roof, onboard refrigerator and simple bathroom facilities, is also in the pipeline.

Unlike conventional automakers, Xuntian models will use a dedicated SKYNOMAD badge rather than Xiaomi‘s “MI” logo — an apparent signal that Xiaomi intends to keep its pure‑electric performance brand separate from its volume‑oriented family‑car brand. However, the real differentiation advantage lies in HyperOS: seamless handoff between the phone, home ecosystem and car display, plus voice‑controlled smart‑home devices from inside the vehicle. This ecosystem lock‑in could prove decisive against rivals.

Xuntian’s first production model is expected to be officially unveiled in the second half of 2026. The brand‘s success will be pivotal not only for Xiaomi’s EREV ambitions but also for achieving its ambitious 2026 delivery goals and securing a larger share of the family‑car market.
