[CNMO Tech News] August 10, according to statistics compiled by blogger @EVOutbound, from 2024 to the first half of 2026, Deep Blue Cars have gone overseas for two years, covering 17 countries, with cumulative sales of 31,588 units.
The statistics chart shows that Deep Blue's cumulative sales volume in the Thailand market is 19,235 units, accounting for up to 61% of the cumulative overseas sales volume. Specifically, sales volume in the Thailand market was 5,617 units in 2024, 7,824 units in 2025, 5,794 units in the first half of this year, with a monthly average stable at 800-1,000 units. The two models, Deep Blue L07 and S07, have successfully validated the business model in the Thailand market, and brand awareness has been initially established.
CNMO Tech learned that besides the Thailand market, the remaining overseas markets are still in the early volume expansion stage. Israel ranks second with 4,227 units (share 13%); the UK and Spain rank afterwards with 1,770 units (share 6%) and 1,753 units (share 6%) respectively. Australia and Norway cumulative sales are 1,218 units and 1,108 units, with shares of 4% each. Another 11 countries have sales volumes under 1,000 units each, presenting the characteristic of "wide country coverage, low sales per country". Worth noting is that the European markets such as Spain, UK, and Norway are gaining volume in the first half of 2026, but the absolute scale remains limited.
According to the blogger's analysis, Deep Blue adopted the "single-point breakthrough + regional replication" overseas expansion strategy, first concentrating resources to penetrate the Thailand market, then expanding outward. From the data, this strategy has been initially verified in Thailand, and the key for the follow-up lies in whether the European market can be advanced from "having sales" to "having scale".

In 2026, the automotive season is halfway through, and the Chinese auto market has completed the first half amidst price wars and weak demand. While most players are still calculating how to extricate themselves from the quagmire of "trading price for volume," Changan Automobile's revealed half-year performance report demonstrates the strategic resolve and tactical flexibility of a new central state-owned automotive enterprise.

The Real Rise of the Third Pole
Looking at Changan's performance in the first half of the year, the most exciting news is undoubtedly the "unrivaled" performance of the overseas market.
402,000 units delivered overseas, a year-on-year growth of 35.1%, accounting for a share of the overall sales jumping to 33.6%. Compared to the overseas target of 750,000 units for the full year, the 53.6% completion rate makes this performance report highly valuable. In the highly competitive stock market, the overseas sector proved the foresight of Changan's internationalization strategy with high growth, becoming the strongest engine pulling the overall market.
This is not simple product export, but the qualitative change of the "Inclusive Sea" Plan from 1.0 to 2.0. The Brazil Anapolis Factory completed construction and began production in March, with an initial annual production capacity of 90,000 units; the Thailand Rayong Factory is in production, and the Deepal S05 Right-Hand Drive version officially went off the line — Changan is upgrading its overseas map from "Trade Export" to "Industrial Overseas Expansion".
More importantly, the profit logic. When the domestic car market is deeply trapped in the price war, the profit structure of the overseas market is enough to make any rational investor excited. The value of overseas business is not only reflected in sales numbers, but more significantly in the substantial improvement of Changan's global brand value. In strategic areas such as Southeast Asia and South America, Changan is accelerating the transformation from a Chinese brand to a global brand with localized production + regional customized product combinations.

New Energy Structure Adjustment, Gathering Momentum to Wait
New energy deliveries reached 456,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. Against the backdrop of the overall market contraction, this growth rate is remarkably solid.
In the sub-brand matrix, Changan Qiyuan's breakout and Deepal's stability are equally impressive. Qiyuan delivered 173,800 units cumulatively in the first half of the year, with the AQ series growing by 102.6% year-on-year, with the Q05 continuing to dominate the compact SUV market. On Deepal's performance report of 164,200 units, overseas deliveries of 35,800 units surged 141% year-on-year. Leading the industry in overseas growth rate is the best proof of Deepal's brand power.
Avatr's performance in the first half of the year was moderate, but the real highlight is in the second half. The Avatr 07L will be the first batch to be equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5, and new flagship stores will cover more than 20 cities this year — for this premiumization card, Changan plays calmly and steadily.
Changan's new energy overall target completion rate for the first half of the year is 32.5%. Seemingly leaving room, it actually lays the groundwork for the technical explosion in the second half. The Blue Whale Super Engine Hybrid technology has achieved city fuel consumption of 2.98L per 100km, with thermal efficiency near 45%; the self-developed "Tianzhu Pilot" Advanced Driver Assistance System was officially launched at the Chongqing Auto Show. The accelerated transmission of technology from the R&D end to the product end will be concentrated in the second half.

Self-Developed is the Best Trump Card
If Changan's first half is broken down, technical breakthroughs are the most worthy of emphasis.
At the Beijing Auto Show in March, the "Tianzhu Intelligence" brand was officially launched, and the "Tianzhu Pilot" Advanced Driver Assistance System made a stunning debut. This is not simple feature stacking, but the concentrated embodiment of Changan's "Full-Stack Controllable" strategy in the core track of intelligence. Industry-leading features like Tire Blowout Stabilization prove the balance capability of the technical team between underlying algorithms and engineering implementation.
The mass production deployment of the Blue Whale Super Engine Hybrid is another trump card on the electrification track. The launch of the 4th Generation Eado and CS75 PLUS marks Changan's leap from following to leading in hybrid technology. In the current booming plug-in hybrid market, this system's balance between energy efficiency and performance will form sustained competitiveness in the terminal market.

In the Second Half, Others Endure the Harsh Winter, Changan Waits for the Wind
The structural optimization of the first half has laid a springboard for the strategic focus in the second half.
The product offensive is already clear. Changan Qiyuan Q06 will be the first to be equipped with the "Tianzhu Pilot" system for mass production — this will be a milestone event for Changan's self-developed smart driving technology to go to the market on a large scale. The dense launches of more than a dozen new and facelift models will form full coverage of the mainstream price range from the product end.
The overseas offensive continues to increase. Thailand and Brazil factories are ramping up capacity, and the "Inclusive Sea" 2.0 strategy's localized layout will move from planning to substantial operation. From "Going Out" to "Going In", Changan's deep cultivation in the overseas market is entering the harvest period.
The technical offensive is gathering momentum. The technical dividends of intelligence and electrification will be more fully released in new models in the second half. With the "Tianzhu" and "Blue Whale" dual-engine drive, Changan is completing the conversion from technical reserves to market momentum.

Auto Review: Some question the overall target completion rate, ignoring the industry scale's 23.8% decline; some amplify the slowdown in new energy growth, but didn't see the technical barriers behind Blue Whale Hybrid and "Tianzhu" Smart Driving.
The goal set by Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong of 5 million units by 2030 and Global TOP 10 is destined to be a marathon. The rhythm adjustment, structure optimization, overseas breakthrough, and technical accumulation of the first half — all these work that may not seem so "sexy" is actually accumulating energy for the sprint in the second half.
For the Chinese automotive market in 2026, the elimination rounds have begun. For Changan, this automotive new central SOE that has completed an identity shift, the value of the first half is never about how much it sprinted, but about finding the right direction and solidifying its internal foundation in a great transformation. The starting gun for the second half has fired, and the triple momentum of technology, products, and globalization is converting into real market momentum.
True masters are good at adjusting posture against headwinds and finding the optimal route amidst changes. Judging from the layout of the first half, Changan's second half of 2026 is even more worth looking forward to.

"In the past, selling Toyotas, the first thing customers would say upon entering was: When can I pick up the car? Now the first thing is: Whose intelligent driving system does this car use?" This is what a Toyota 4S shop salesperson told me recently.
He entered the industry in 2018. At that time, the Camry had price markups, people queued for the Highlander, and the Alphard was like a financial product. The hardest part of selling Japanese cars was not selling the cars, but calming the customers' emotions.

But now, the one thing he does most every day is explain: 'Our cars actually use a lot of Chinese supply chains.' When he said this, his tone even sounded a bit proud.
Indeed, ten years ago, Chinese automakers were still figuring out how to make door gaps even; five years ago, Chinese new energy vehicles were completely overshadowed by the industry; and now, if Japanese cars want to do new energy well, the first thing has become: Connect to the Chinese supply chain first.
You will find that when an era truly ends, it is often not because someone fell.
Instead, people who were once high and mighty start to actively learn from you.

Recently, sales of Toyota's pure electric SUV broke ten thousand again. Many people interpret this as a 'Japanese counterattack'. But if you take this car apart to look, you will find things are not that simple.
Momenta Intelligent Driving, Hesai LiDAR, Desay SV Domain Control, FinDream Battery, CALB, Zhengli New Energy...
To put it bluntly, many so-called 'Japanese new energy vehicles' now look more and more like 'Japanese shells assembled by the Chinese supply chain'. But the issue is, this precisely shows that China's automotive industry has truly won. Because true industrial victory is never about crushing others, but even your rivals are forced to use you.
This is actually more terrifying than sales overtaking.
In the past, everyone always said Chinese automakers were 'overtaking on a curve'. Looking back now, this statement was actually too conservative. China's automotive industry isn't about overtaking at all; it's about changing the track entirely.

In the internal combustion engine era, why was the Japanese supply chain strong? Because that era competed on precision manufacturing, stable quality control, long-cycle iteration, and a closed supply system. To put it simply, it was 'slow work yields fine results'. Toyota's system was essentially the highest level of order in the industrial era.
The problem is, the new energy era is different.
Now it competes on iteration speed, software capability, cost control, supply chain collaboration, and large-scale rapid trial and error. In the past, a car model was replaced every five years; now there is an OTA update every half year; in the past, suppliers took three months to change a mold; now Chinese manufacturers take three weeks.

In the past, the strongest point of Japanese manufacturing was 'not making mistakes'. Now the strongest point of Chinese manufacturing is allowing rapid mistakes, then rapid evolution. These are two completely different industrial philosophies. So many people actually misunderstand Chinese new energy vehicles. Everyone always thinks Chinese automakers win because they are cheap. But what is truly terrifying is never the low price. It is that China now possesses 'cheap', 'good enough', and 'fast' all at once.
This is the most scary part. Because the most unsolvable thing in the industrial world is that you are cheaper than me and iterate faster than me. This is also why, today, more and more Japanese suppliers are starting to collapse. Many people see Japanese parts companies going bankrupt and think it is just a sales issue.
Actually, it's not. The real problem is that the industrial logic upon which the entire Japanese supply chain relies is starting to fail. In the past, the biggest moat for Japanese suppliers was the Keiretsu system. Toyota only used the Toyota system; Honda only supported the Honda supply chain. Denso, Aisin, Jtekt, Yazaki... the whole system was like a closed empire.
But in the new energy era, there is a particularly cruel thing: closed systems mean slow. And being slow is almost a mortal sin today.
So you will see a particularly absurd phenomenon. In the past, Chinese suppliers desperately wanted to get into the Japanese system; now Japanese automakers are coming to Chinese suppliers. Because without using the Chinese supply chain, cars simply cannot compete.
This is particularly obvious in Southeast Asia. Two years ago, many people were still discussing: 'Will Chinese cars fight fiercely with Japanese cars in Thailand?' But now it is found that it is not a 'head-to-head match'. Instead, the Chinese supply chain directly penetrated into Japanese car factories.

This is more ruthless than grabbing the market. Because grabbing the market is just grabbing sales. Grabbing the supply chain is equivalent to grabbing the industrial lifeline. In the past, one of the scariest points of Japanese manufacturing was that it controlled the Asian industrial system. Now this control is shifting. And it is shifting very quickly.
The most interesting thing is that the Japanese themselves actually realized the problem first. The Nikkei has started to frequently use words like 'Keiretsu Dissolution'. Translated, it is actually just one sentence: The core thing of the Japanese automotive industry is collapsing.
So today the most painful are no longer Japanese brands, but that group of Japanese suppliers. Because vehicle manufacturers can at least 'surrender'. The supply chain is not that easy to turn around.
Toyota can still use Chinese intelligent driving; Nissan can still accept Chinese batteries; Honda can still learn new EV brands to do cockpits. But what about those traditional suppliers?

All advantages established in the internal combustion engine era suddenly became useless. More cruelly, the most important things in the new energy era, batteries, intelligence, software, intelligent driving, China has almost occupied all of them.
So you will see a particularly darkly humorous picture. On one side, Japanese media are heartbroken over 'Japanese car soul handed over to China'; on the other side, Japanese suppliers are taking BYD orders again to stay alive. This is actually very much like dynastic transitions in history.
People of the old era will not disappear suddenly. They will first be shocked, then deny, then angry, and finally join.
Many people still think China's automotive industry is just 'new energy leading'. But I think the real change is far more than cars. Cars are just the most obvious open exam for China's manufacturing upgrade. Because cars are the crown of industry. Behind it are connected chips, materials, software, batteries, machinery, manufacturing, AI, automation, and supply chain collaboration.

Whoever wins the car has the qualification to reconstruct the next generation industrial order. And what is truly terrifying about China today is that a 'supply chain black hole effect' is starting to appear.
What is a black hole? It means all industries will eventually be sucked into it.
You make cars, you have to connect to Chinese batteries; you do intelligent driving, you have to connect to Chinese computing power; you do supply chains, you have to accept Chinese speed; you do manufacturing, you have to adapt to Chinese costs.
It is highly likely that a very realistic situation will appear in the future. Manufacturing industries that do not join the Chinese supply chain will find it harder and harder to stay at the table. This is not some nationalistic emotion. This is industrial law.
Because at the end of manufacturing development, it is no longer about single-point technology, but about who can compress the entire supply chain into 'one machine'.
And the strongest ability China has now is this. From batteries to intelligent driving, from parts to whole vehicles, from R&D to mass production, China's industry has truly formed a complete closed loop, super-large scale, super-high-speed iteration, and super-strong cost control for the first time.
This thing is what is truly making the whole world anxious today. So look back at those news of 'Japanese cars using Chinese supply chains'.
You will find that its true meaning is not 'Chinese parts entered the Japanese system'. It is that Chinese manufacturing has begun to become the global industrial system itself for the first time.

Folks, today let's talk about big news on going global—not selling cars, but selling "drivers". On June 2, WeRide and Uber jointly announced a plan: to launch the country's first commercial Robotaxi pilot service in Madrid, Spain. In other words: Spanish residents will soon be able to hail a driverless taxi via Uber. This is the first time WeRide and Uber are partnering to enter the European market. Madrid also becomes the 12th city globally where WeRide's Robotaxi arrives.
According to official news, with the support of the Madrid regional government, this service will officially launch within this year. At that time, friends in Madrid can open the Uber App and call WeRide's Robotaxi with one click. It's just like calling an ordinary ride-hailing service, the difference is the arriving car has no driver—at least initially, there is still a difference. In the initial operation phase, a professionally trained safety monitor will be on board, as it's just launched, safety comes first.
This company, WeRide, you might have heard of it, or you might not. A brief introduction: Established in 2017, it has been dedicated to Robotaxi technology R&D and commercialization. Currently, its Robotaxis cover Guangzhou, Beijing, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Zurich... plus Madrid now, totaling 12 cities. Spain is also the 5th European market WeRide has entered—previously entered Switzerland, France, Belgium, Slovakia. According to the plan agreed by WeRide and Uber in May 2025, they plan to deploy Robotaxi services in 15 new international cities within five years, deploying tens of thousands of Robotaxis globally. With the Madrid launch, the deployment in 4 cities has been completed, and 11 more will be covered successively before 2030.
To be honest, it's not the first time Chinese autonomous driving companies are going global, but the combination of Chinese technology + global mobility platform + European market is quite interesting. Madrid is one of the European Robotaxi markets with the most commercial potential, with a large population, high travel demand, and friendly local policies. Being able to take root in this market is a significant milestone for WeRide. For Uber, introducing Robotaxis is also a way to reduce costs—after all, drivers don't need salaries. For Madrid residents, hailing a taxi might be cheaper in the future.
