2015 marked a key turning point in Huoliang New Energy’s technology route, as the team shifted from the first-generation integral battery-swap technology to **modular battery-swap technology routes**. The “Yi Dian Yi Xing” electric vehicle complete solution was developed based on this new technology. In 2020, Huoliang New Energy officially released the “Yi Dian Yi Xing” solution at the Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the United States, disclosing details of its battery-swap station technology to the public for the first time.

2021 became the inaugural year of the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand. Yi Dian Yi Xing New Energy Technology (Sanya) Co., Ltd. was registered and established, launching the brand simultaneously. On June 27 of that year, Huoliang New Energy held the “Pure Electric Extended Range, Yi Dian Yi Xing” themed launch conference at the 34th World Electric Vehicle Congress in Nanjing, gaining significant exposure for the brand. The event also showcased promotional videos for two Yi Dian Yi Xing models, the FM3 and FS6. In July 2021, Chery and Huoliang New Energy jointly customized and developed the “Yi Dian Yi Xing” modular battery-swap pure electric SUV—known as the Yi Dian Yi Xing F8S. This model passed the new product announcement in Batch 346 of the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products” issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), making it the only Yi Dian Yi Xing brand model to enter the Chinese Automotive Directory.

In 2022, the brand accelerated its market entry. Huoliang New Energy entered the Hainan market, announced the launch of “Shared Battery Swap,” and planned to build battery-swap station groups throughout Hainan Province. That same year, the Yi Dian Yi Xing FM3 Pro passed the MIIT directory, positioned as a battery-swap pure electric multi-purpose passenger vehicle.

Subsequently, the brand gradually faded from public view, with few new model releases or large-scale updates regarding battery-swap station deployments. As of late 2025 to early 2026, public data indicates that the company originally associated with the brand is no longer active. According to enterprise credit information platforms, the actual operating entity of the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand has been fully revoked. During its limited lifecycle, the brand only promoted a small number of battery-swap vehicles for operational use, and it essentially failed to reach the private consumer market for passenger vehicles.

Yi Dian Yi Xing FS6 Basic Edition
Displayed by Huoliang New Energy during the R&D phase, this is a battery-swap pure electric extended-range electric vehicle. It comes factory-equipped with a basic battery pack that supports both charging and swapping (providing a range of approximately 180–200 km). It also reserves space for adding “N” battery-swap packs, with each extended-range pack adding about 45–50 km of range. Users can extend the range by adding different numbers of these packs, with a maximum total stackable range of approximately 670 km. The FS6 Basic Edition represents the core technological concept of Huoliang New Energy’s “1+N Multi-Engine Battery System” and serves as the technical baseline model for the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand.

None of the above models achieved large-scale delivery through private consumer or ride-hailing channels.

Modular Battery Swap Technology
This serves as the core technical foundation of Yi Dian Yi Xing. Building on the successful application of Huoliang New Energy’s first-generation integral battery-swap taxis in 2013, the company decisively switched to modular battery-swap technology in 2015. This approach disassembles traditional large battery packs into multiple small, standardized modules. The modular design offers three key advantages: First, it allows for flexible expansion, enabling battery-swap stations to add modules according to demand, thereby reducing early construction costs. Second, it significantly improves cross-series model compatibility, allowing different models to share the same battery-swap system. Third, it enhances safety; if a specific module fails, the impact is contained within that small module, preventing vehicle-level battery safety incidents.

1+N Multi-Engine Battery System
This is an original patent architecture by Huoliang New Energy. The factory configuration includes a basic battery pack that supports both charging and swapping, along with several spaces for “add-on as needed” extended-range battery packs. Users do not need to pay a high initial purchase price for long-range capacity. Instead, when traveling long distances, they can visit a battery-swap station to add the required number of extended-range or swap-ready battery packs, achieving a flexible extended-range experience. This design aims to help consumers balance overall vehicle purchase costs with their actual travel needs.

Battery Swap Station Equipment and Automation Technology
The battery-swap stations incorporate technologies for charging, swapping, and automatic battery maintenance. They support both fully automatic and semi-automatic swap modes, completing a swap in approximately 3–5 minutes. These stations are compatible with integrated energy storage and battery swapping, allowing them store energy during periods of low grid usage. This effectively promotes energy interaction and resource utilization.

Three-Electric System Integration Capability
The three-electric system (battery, motor, and electronic control) of Yi Dian Yi Xing models relies on Huoliang New Energy’s years of R&D experience in BMS and power lithium battery systems for integration and matching. The ABS system in the announced models is supplied by Bosch Automotive Components (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., ensuring safe braking performance under battery-swap conditions.

Market Performance

The market performance of the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand fell far below industry expectations. From a sales perspective, queries on mainstream automotive vertical websites show that all models under the brand are marked as “Stop Sales” or “No Sales Data.” As of the end of 2025, Yi Dian Yi Xing had failed to achieve commercialized sales in the private consumer market.

On the operational level, Huoliang New Energy completed small-scale battery-swap station deployments in Hainan between 2022 and 2023 and invested some battery-swap vehicles for scenario verification. In 2022, the company announced plans to build at least 20 battery-swap stations in Shanghai and invest in independent brand vehicles.

From an industrial and commercial standpoint, the company associated with the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand had its business license revoked in December 2025, meaning the brand has legally ceased operations. Financially, Huoliang New Energy once publicly declared its ambition to become a Shanghai “Unicorn” new energy vehicle enterprise valued in the billions within three years. However, no public financial data has been released to verify whether this goal was realized.

Global Presence

The overseas layout of the Yi Dian Yi Xing brand is extremely limited, primarily supported by Huoliang New Energy’s international exposure. In 2020, Huoliang New Energy successfully unveiled the Yi Dian Yi Xing electric vehicle solution at the CES show in Las Vegas, USA, marking the first public display of the technology to global automotive industry experts.

According to company disclosures, Yi Dian Yi Xing received support from overseas venture capital and assembled a team of industry experts from China and the US to jointly participate in core technology R&D. However, the brand itself never deployed battery-swap stations or vehicles in North American or European markets. Regarding any future resumption of production, restructuring, or takeover, there are no concrete plans available through public channels. Yi Dian Yi Xing serves as an important footnote in the Chinese new energy vehicle battery-swap industry, illustrating the journey from technological exploration to commercialization practice. While its modular battery-swap concept played a demonstrative role in shaping subsequent technology routes, the brand as a whole no longer possesses the operational foundation to return to the market.
