TECHART is a high-end Porsche modification and customization brand originating from Germany. Founded in May 1987 in the town of Fellbach near Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, its current headquarters are located in Leonberg. As an internationally recognized exclusive Porsche modifier, TECHART focuses on personalized modifications, performance upgrades, and complete vehicle manufacturing for all Porsche model series. The brand holds complete vehicle manufacturer qualifications, allowing it to independently assign Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs).

The brand name "TECHART" is derived from the homophone of the German number "8" (acht) and the word "Art," symbolizing the "perfect combination of technology and art." Its Chinese sub-brand name, "Tech8," retains this pronunciation. The brand emblem incorporates the griffin and elk elements of Baden-Württemberg and features a golden key pattern, symbolizing its regional and cultural connection with the Porsche parent factory.

History

TECHART's origins can be traced back to 1986. Founder Thomas Behringer, with a background as a racing driver, and partner Matthias Kraus began planning with a persistent dream for Porsche. In May 1987, the company was officially established in Fellbach. From the late 1980s, the team devoted primary efforts to the personalized development of Porsche models, gradually building a high-level team of engineers and designers covering mechanics, exterior, and interior design.

1995 was a turning point for the brand — TECHART received the Vehicle Identification Number certification independently assigned by the German government, thereby acquiring the legal status of a complete vehicle manufacturer, not just a parts modifier. After entering the 21st century, the brand entered a period of rapid development. In 2001, the GTstreet aerodynamic kit developed based on the 996 Porsche 911 Turbo became famous overnight, making TECHART well-known in the international modification circle. In 2004, the brand created the Magnum series kit exclusively for the Porsche Cayenne, opening a new track for high-performance SUV modification. In 2005, TECHART officially entered the Chinese market through Beijing Techart Company. In 2008, the GTstreet RS built on the 997 Porsche GT2 achieved the fastest results at the German Tuner Grand Prix and set a lap time record at Sachsenring that lasted for seven years. At the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show, TECHART released a new complete vehicle brand LOGO and sub-brand name Tech8, announcing its formal and comprehensive entry into the Chinese market as a complete vehicle manufacturer.

Product Portfolio

TECHART's product line is categorized by modification depth and model coverage, including aerodynamic kits, performance upgrade packages, chassis and suspension upgrades, interior personalization, and original replacement parts. The brand provides complete upgrade solutions for all currently produced Porsche models, such as the 911, Boxster/Cayman, Panamera, Cayenne, Macan, and Taycan.

Among its complete vehicle-level products, four series are particularly representative:

GTstreet Series: This is TECHART's flagship product line, based on the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, with a history spanning over 20 years. The GTstreet R Touring, released in 2024, abandoned the series' signature exaggerated rear wing in favor of a classic ducktail shape. It features up to 40 carbon fiber aerodynamic components across the vehicle. When paired with TA092/T2.1 performance upgrade packages, it produces a maximum of 800 horsepower and 969 N·m of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 350 km/h. An earlier release, the GTstreet R Flyweight, focuses on ultimate lightweighting and is limited to 19 units globally, reducing curb weight by approximately 60 kilograms compared to the standard 911 Turbo S.

Magnum Series: This is TECHART's high-performance modification flagship for the Porsche Cayenne. First launched in 2004, the series has evolved to its fifth generation. The fifth-generation Magnum comes standard with Porsche original engines equipped with Power-Kit and engine management systems, producing up to 930 horsepower and 1,122 N·m of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 2.6 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 330 km/h. For the first time on Cayenne models, this generation adopts a center dual-exhaust layout, with the initial limited edition restricted to just 25 units globally.

GrandGT Series: Based on the Porsche Panamera, this luxury four-door performance sedan series balances executive-level comfort with track-level performance through wide-body kits, power upgrades, and luxurious interior reshaping.

Additionally, in 2021, TECHART launched its first exclusive carbon fiber aerodynamic kit for the Porsche Taycan, covering the new front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser, and Formular VI forged wheels, marking the brand's formal entry into the era of electrified modifications. In terms of traditional models, the brand also offers T-series models based on the full Porsche lineup, such as the T2 R, T7 S, and T9 S.

Market Performance

TECHART adopts a business model of "customized direct sales plus authorized dealer networks". The brand's influence covers more than 30 countries worldwide, with a solid customer base in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.

In the Chinese market, TECHART first entered in 2005 through Beijing Techart Automobile Sales & Service Co., Ltd. At the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show, the brand was officially fully listed as a complete vehicle manufacturer, with Yusheng Automobile (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. serving as the China General Agent, and released the prices of complete vehicles such as T2 R, T7 S, T9 S listed in the Chinese market that year. In November 2025, Techart China's first flagship display center opened in Shantou, Guangdong, marking the further deepening of the Chinese channel layout. The brand maintains a niche limited route in overall production and sales scale, with specific annual sales and revenue data not publicly disclosed.

Technology and Innovation

TECHART's core technological strength is concentrated on four levels: aerodynamic engineering, carbon fiber manufacturing processes, power tuning, and customized interiors. In terms of appearance design, every aerodynamic kit must undergo strict wind tunnel testing verification to ensure a balance between increasing downforce, optimizing heat dissipation, and reducing wind resistance. In the GTstreet RS project, the brand adopted the Forged Carbon Fiber manufacturing process to create body parts such as engine hoods and fenders. Each forged carbon fiber panel features unique textures and limited edition numbers, combining lightweight properties with a one-of-a-kind visual effect. In terms of power performance, TECHART uses its independently developed Power-Kit engine management program to increase the output of a 3.7-liter flat-six engine from the factory 650 horsepower to over 800 horsepower, and boost the Porsche Cayenne GTS's 4.0T V8 engine to 640 horsepower. On the chassis and braking level, the brand provides a complete upgrade solution including adjustable suspension systems, carbon ceramic brake discs, and lightweight forged wheels.

Global Presence

TECHART is headquartered in Germany and has a North American branch, German Tech Inc., in Largo, Florida, USA, responsible for operations and services in the North American market. The brand covers more than 30 countries worldwide through its authorized dealer network. Since entering the Chinese market in 2005, it has continued to deepen its work, with Beijing Techart as the operating entity, establishing authorized dealership outlets in many cities nationwide including Dalian, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Kunming, etc. The opening of the 2025 Shantou flagship display center further perfected the brand service network in the South China region.

Future Strategy

Facing the electrification wave in the automotive industry, TECHART has established a strategic direction for electric modifications based on Porsche's pure electric models. The brand first launched a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit for the Porsche Taycan in 2021, and deeper power-level upgrade plans are already in development by its engineering team. Meanwhile, with Porsche's next-generation pure electric model, the 718 Cayman, expected to debut in 2026, TECHART is actively preparing modification kits and personalized customization plans for this new electric platform.

While maintaining its technical advantages in traditional fuel-powered models, TECHART is committed to upholding its core brand concept of the "perfect combination of technology and art" in the electrification era. The brand aims to provide Porsche enthusiasts worldwide with a comprehensive, high-quality personalized customization experience that spans from fuel engines to electric platforms.
