Brand Overview

REV is a premium RV brand jointly established by Chery Holding Group and the US-based REV Group. As a Sino-US joint venture specializing in special-purpose vehicles, REV not only leverages Chery’s extensive expertise in complete vehicle research and development but also incorporates over 60 years of RV modification technology accumulated by the REV Group.

The company, officially named "Anhui Chery RV Special Purpose Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd.," was founded in December 2017 and is headquartered in the High-tech Zone of Wuhu City, Anhui Province. With a total investment of 160 million yuan, the facility spans approximately 60 mu, featuring a building area of around 20,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 4,000 units. As the flagship mid-to-high-end RV brand under the Chery Group, REV adheres strictly to passenger-car-level standards in both R&D and manufacturing processes, focusing on the development, production, and service of Type B and Type C high-end RVs.

Guided by the brand philosophy "Vehicles for Life," REV strives to elevate lifestyles from simple living to luxurious standards. Its product portfolio spans various special-purpose vehicle sectors, including motorhomes, travel trailers, and mid-to-high-end medical ambulances. By prioritizing core product attributes—Safety, Reliability, Comfort, and Environmental Friendliness—and providing comprehensive full-lifecycle services, REV has rapidly established strong brand competitiveness in the domestic market. Currently, its total RV sales rank among the top four in the industry, with leading positions in specific market segments placing it within the top three in China.

Development History

REV’s development history traces back to a strategic partnership between two major groups in China and the US. On December 4, 2017, Chery Holding Group and the US-based REV Group, a leading North American manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles, officially signed an agreement in Wuhu, Anhui. The two parties planned to establish a joint venture factory to produce mid-to-high-end RVs and other special-purpose vehicles for both domestic and international markets. The joint venture project was ambitious: it outlined six product series in the RV sector alone, with plans to produce and sell over 5,000 special-purpose vehicles annually after Phase I reached full capacity, targeting net sales revenue exceeding 2 billion yuan.

In 2018, after nearly a year of preparation and collaborative exploration, the joint venture was officially established. It made its debut at the 5th China Automotive RV Camping Conference in November of that year, showcasing REV’s concept products and factory prototypes to domestic enthusiasts. On March 3 of the following year, the REV brand was officially launched at the “Quality with Heart, Journey without Boundaries” ceremony, simultaneously releasing its first batch of five mid-to-high-end Type C RVs. This milestone marked REV’s successful transition from R&D and production to commercialization.

Entering 2021, REV experienced rapid expansion of its product matrix, continuously launching new models based on the existing V series. This resulted in a diverse portfolio including the V800, V820, S820, and T800 series. The year 2023 proved to be a significant milestone in REV’s history. In September of that year, REV announced a comprehensive brand upgrade, unveiling a new logo designed to enhance connectivity and user experience. The brand positioning evolved from “High-quality Product Provider” to “High-quality User Service Provider,” reconstructing an ecosystem centered on “Guarding RV Travel” that encompasses purchasing, usage, and leisure activities.

Between 2023 and 2025, REV’s market performance surged. Amidst intensifying competition and evolving user demands, REV leveraged its superior product quality and robust after-sales network to achieve record-high annual sales, ranking among the top three in the 2025 China Self-Propelled RV Sales List. In the first quarter of 2026, REV continued to maintain year-on-year growth, leading the pack among first-tier brands and solidifying its position at the forefront of the Chinese high-end RV market.

Brand Matrix / Product Lines

After years of strategic development, REV has established a tripartite industrial layout encompassing "RVs + Ambulances + Special-Purpose Vehicles." As a key segment of Chery Commercial Vehicle Company, the company holds independent modification qualifications approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for special passenger vans and general cargo trailers. Its product matrix spans diverse fields, including recreational travel, logistics transportation, medical rescue, and emergency response.

RV Product Line

REV’s RVs are positioned in the mid-to-high-end market, featuring two main categories: self-propelled motorhomes and highway travel trailers. In terms of interior design, REV models embrace American styling, emphasizing spacious living areas through electric expansion pods. At the brand’s launch, the V Series and S Series were introduced with various expansion configurations to meet different user needs, priced between 498,000 and 868,000 yuan.

The V Series is primarily built on the domestic IVECO Daily Euro chassis, offering exceptional cost-performance ratio to meet the entry-level needs of mid-range RV users. This series includes single-expansion, non-expansion, and double-expansion models, with the V800 and V820 serving as the core drivers of REV’s RV sales. The S Series utilizes the imported IVECO New Daily chassis, equipped with high-specification air suspension systems and advanced driver-assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). With continuous technological iteration, REV has recently expanded its lineup to include the Qijie R900 Business Travel Version B-type RV based on the Ford T8 chassis, as well as the roof-lifting X500 series, which offers flexibility for both urban and off-road scenarios, thereby addressing a wide range of segmented market demands.

Medical and Ambulance Product Line

Another pillar of REV’s business is the production of mid-to-high-end medical ambulances. This segment includes the V362, V348, and Eurostar Series ICU negative-pressure ambulances, as well as cutting-edge emergency solutions like the "Mobile Stroke CT Ambulance." During the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, REV was designated by the MIIT and the State Council’s Epidemic Prevention Material Security Group as a manufacturer of negative-pressure ambulances. Its products represented a high standard within the domestic medical rescue system at that time.

Special-Purpose Vehicle and Extended Product Line

Leveraging advanced modification craftsmanship and Chery Commercial Vehicle’s manufacturing expertise, REV is also making significant strides in the special-purpose vehicle industry. Committed to full-lifecycle service support, the company actively expands into the design and customization of government and enterprise special vehicles, emergency rescue equipment, and smart specialized vehicles. By relying on the flexible production lines at its Wuhu factory and its reserves in "Intelligent" and "Connected" technologies, REV has cultivated a stable base of B-side customers.

Market Performance

Since the launch of its first model in 2019, REV’s products have gained rapid market recognition. In the first half of 2022, the company reported revenue of 160 million yuan, with sales exceeding 530 units. In 2024, the total domestic RV market volume reached 11,746 units. During the same year, REV achieved annual sales of 482 units, securing a leading position in the annual RV brand rankings.

Entering 2025, REV continued to maintain strong growth momentum. According to public industry data, REV’s self-propelled travel vehicle sales reached 370 units in the first eight months of 2025, ranking second among enterprises. For the full year of 2025, REV delivered 553 units, placing third on the China Self-Propelled RV Sales List. This achievement highlights the successful conversion of market potential into results, underpinned by Chery’s robust manufacturing and quality control systems.

In 2026, REV continues to defend its top-tier position amidst increasingly fierce industry competition. Q1 sales data shows that REV, along with other first-tier brands such as Welltop and Dadecui, maintained year-on-year growth, demonstrating brand resilience as the industry transitions toward a new landscape. As of Q1 2026, REV’s sales growth rate in key categories, including buses over six meters, ranked among the highest in the industry, showcasing the powerful capabilities of its production and sales systems.

Core Technology

Leveraging Chery’s 20+ years of manufacturing craftsmanship and the US REV Group’s 60+ years of RV modification expertise, REV has established a core technology system that covers the entire product lifecycle. Its technological roadmap and core product strengths are supported by four key dimensions: “Body Structure,” “Standardized Intelligent Manufacturing,” “Chassis Matching,” and “Global Procurement.” These pillars effectively ensure high safety standards and an superior user experience for every model.

Body Structure

REV employs an aluminum alloy frame for its core body structure, paired with a mature “Ridge”-style integrated composite roof. This design not only enhances the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal but also ensures structural safety and rigidity under high-intensity driving conditions. Furthermore, the company introduces passenger-car-level R&D and intelligent manufacturing standards into the RV sector, achieving full-process control from digital development to modular, standardized production.

Chassis and Balance Technology

To ensure stability and comfort across various road conditions, REV utilizes specialized balance arrangement analysis software from the US REV Group. This technology ensures that the left/right weight difference on the front and rear axles remains below 4%, resulting in excellent axle load distribution and consistent performance. In terms of chassis selection, REV optimizes product capabilities by leveraging multiple mainstream platforms, including the IVECO Daily Euro chassis, Ford Transit T8 chassis, and Maxus V90 chassis.

Global Supply Chain and R&D

By capitalizing on the US REV Group’s global procurement and supply chain advantages, REV selects components from world-renowned RV brands and directly accesses more advanced and reliable resources through the REV system. Under this joint venture framework, REV maintains close technical cooperation and joint development with the REV Group, ensuring the rapid mass production and implementation of new features and materials.

Overseas Layout

The overseas market represents a crucial growth engine for REV’s future diversified development. From the inception of the joint venture, the company established that its products would not only serve the Chinese market but also leverage Chery Group’s existing global marketing network to lay the groundwork for long-term international exports. Supported by both North American technical resources and Chery’s robust export system, REV has expanded its export business to multiple regions, including Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Australia/New Zealand.

In spring 2026, REV achieved significant success in the Australian market. Recently, a batch of domestically produced RVs cleared customs inspection at Wuhu Port and were loaded onto ships bound for Australia, delivering high-quality “Mobile Homes” to local users. These products have gained favor among Australian consumers due to their excellent quality and innovative design. Since the beginning of this year, REV’s export value to Australia alone has exceeded 15 million yuan, marking a major leap from zero to one.

As the brand accelerates its globalization strategy and delivery pace, REV’s overseas industrial synergies are achieving deep penetration in high-potential markets such as Australia and the Middle East. This expansion is helping to firmly establish the high-end image of “Made in China” RVs on the global stage.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, REV has established strategic directions focused on professionalization, internationalization, and sharing. The company is committed to promoting standardized and regulated development within the Chinese recreational vehicle industry, aspiring to become a significant force in the global special-purpose vehicle modification sector.

In terms of product planning, REV is closely aligning with the market’s urgent demand for electrification, modularization, and multi-scenario versatility. The 2026 new product plan clearly identifies new energy RVs, 4WD chassis RVs, and pickup-based RVs as key areas for innovation. Notably, the first 4WD off-road roof-lifting pickup RV, built on Chery’s newly revitalized Rex R08 pickup chassis, has entered the MIIT declaration stage. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and Level 2 assisted driving capabilities, this light camping model is expected to launch officially in 2026. This milestone marks REV’s first successful integration of technical feedback from Chery’s chassis expertise into its RV business.

At the ecosystem development level, REV will continue to deepen its synergistic cooperation with Tuju Camping, a subsidiary of Chery. Together, they aim to create a comprehensive Chinese RV camping ecosystem that covers RV culture, purchase financing, usage guidance, campsite parking, and shared rentals. Through its “1+N” dual-insurance after-sales service network, REV ensures a worry-free travel experience for users across the country, thereby enhancing customer loyalty throughout the brand lifecycle.

Driven by domestic consumption upgrades, the growing popularity of long-distance self-driving camping, and the continuous influx of high-quality overseas orders, REV will further solidify its manufacturing capabilities and R&D strength. By exploring frontier breakthroughs in smart cockpits, lightweight materials, and modular manufacturing, REV aims to lead the Chinese RV market onto the global stage.
