Honda INTEGRA

2026-10-06 15:30:00

The Honda INTEGRA is a C-segment sports sedan produced by GAC Honda, officially introduced to the Chinese market in December 2021. As a sister car to the Dongfeng Honda CIVIC, the INTEGRA revives Honda's iconic moniker and is positioned as a sport-oriented family sedan catering to younger buyers. As of June 2026, the latest offering on sale is the 2025 facelift lineup comprising 7 variants across sedan and HATCHBACK body styles, with official retail prices ranging from RM129,900 to RM170,900. Dealer discounts are substantial, with rebates in select regions reaching RM22,000 to RM36,000. Key rivals to the INTEGRA include the Volkswagen Sagitar, Nissan Sylphy, and its sibling Dongfeng Honda CIVIC.

Design Language

Compared to the CIVIC, the INTEGRA adopts a sharper and more aggressive exterior design. The front end sports a prominent honeycomb radiator grille flanked by sleek LED headlamp clusters that visually widen the front stance. For the 2025 facelift, the honeycomb mesh has been replaced by a gloss black horizontal slat grille, complemented by enlarged lower bumper air intakes, a full-width black garnish strip, and silver or yellow accent trims on the flanks (ACP styling kit). Along the sides, a fastback silhouette meets an upswept shoulder line to create a purposeful, forward-leaning stance. Dimension-wise, the sedan measures 4,689 mm in length, 1,802 mm in width, and 1,415 mm in height (4,563 mm × 1,802 mm × 1,420 mm for the HATCHBACK), riding on a 2,735 mm wheelbase. The 2025 model introduces three new body colours—Speed Blue, Mountain Mist, and Bright Crystal Black—alongside an optional dual-tone paint scheme with a contrasting black roof. Inside, the cabin features a driver-oriented cockpit layout with a centre console angled towards the driver, a chunky steering wheel, and supportive sports front seats that deliver an engaging driving environment.

Powertrain and Performance

The INTEGRA is available in two powertrain options: a 1.5T turbo petrol and a 2.0L petrol-electric hybrid. The petrol variant (240TURBO) is powered by a 1.5-litre Earth Dreams VTEC Turbo engine producing 134 kW (182 PS) and 240 Nm of peak torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. The manual transmission variant uniquely features the rev-matching control system lifted straight from the TYPE R, enabling automatic throttle blips on downshifts. On the WLTC combined cycle, the petrol model returns a fuel consumption figure of 6.0 to 6.4 L/100 km. The hybrid variant (e:HEV) utilises Honda's 4th-generation i-MMD dual-motor system, combining a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric drive motor for a total system output of 149 kW via an E-CVT, delivering an impressive WLTC combined fuel consumption of just 4.39 L/100 km.

Chassis and Handling

Underpinned by the Honda Architecture global platform, the INTEGRA features a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent suspension setup as standard across the range. Compared to the CIVIC, its chassis setup is noticeably firmer and more athletic: spring rates are up by roughly 8%, damper damping forces have increased by 10%, and the rear suspension bushings have been retuned. The chassis extensively employs aluminium components, including an aluminium front subframe and an aluminium engine undertray. The steering rack is calibrated with a comfort-biased weighting, while multiple driving modes such as Comfort and Sport are available. The INTEGRA achieved an impressive 78 km/h in the moose test, showcasing class-leading cornering composure and body control.

Cabin and Equipment

Inside, standard equipment across the entire range includes a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch floating infotainment touchscreen. The system runs on Honda CONNECT 4.0, supporting intelligent voice commands, connected satellite navigation, OTA software updates, alongside Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife smartphone integration. Type-C charging ports are fitted throughout the cabin. Range-topping trims can be optioned with premium packages that include a 12-speaker BOSE sound system, genuine leather upholstery, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Seat trims come in single-tone or two-tone finishes, with contrast stitching available in yellow or blue depending on the selected styling pack. Boot capacity for the sedan stands at 420 litres, expandable via 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

Safety and Driver Assistance

On the passive safety front, all INTEGRA variants are equipped with 10 airbags as standard, comprising dual front airbags, front and rear side airbags, front knee airbags, and full-length curtain airbags. A Pop-Up Hood (PUH) pedestrian protection system is also standard equipment. Active safety is handled by the standard Honda SENSING suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA). Higher-grade variants upgrade to the Honda SENSING 360 suite, which adds advanced features such as Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and an automated parking assistant.

Market Performance and Overview

Since its debut in December 2021, the INTEGRA has experienced sharp market swings. Sales figures show the model moved 78,736 units in 2022 before peaking at 130,236 units in 2023, comfortably averaging over 10,000 units a month. However, sales slumped heavily to 79,266 units in 2024, and plunged further to just 18,917 units in 2025—a year-on-year drop of more than 85%. Between January and April 2026, cumulative sales stood at merely 936 units. This steep decline has been largely driven by the aggressive EV and PHEV price war in China since 2024, where domestic electrified models led by the BYD Qin PLUS slashed starting prices to RM79,800, severely undermining rival petrol sedans from joint-venture marques. The INTEGRA's main strengths remain its dynamic exterior styling, refined chassis dynamics, varied powertrain lineup (particularly the enthusiast-appealing 6-speed manual), and comprehensive safety package with 10 airbags as standard. Conversely, its drawbacks are equally apparent: a rather plain cabin trim quality, lacklustre NVH insulation, and sparse kit on entry-level specs. In summary, the INTEGRA is an uncompromising driver-focused sedan—shining in ride, handling, and powertrain performance, but lagging behind same-priced domestic rivals in terms of interior digital flair and cabin quietness.
