BAC (Briggs Automotive Company) is a British hand-built supercar manufacturer, founded by brothers Neil and Ian Briggs in 2009 in Cheshire, Northwest England. The brand's core goal is "to build cars with Formula 1 handling and performance that are street-legal." Extreme weight reduction and a mid-mounted single-seater driving layout are its signature features, and it is regarded alongside the Ariel Atom and Caterham as one of the purest driving tools.

Brand History

The founding brothers have deep backgrounds in the automotive industry: elder brother Ian graduated from the Automotive Design program at Coventry University in the UK and worked at Mercedes and Porsche; younger brother Neill is an automotive engineer who previously worked at Bentley and Ford. After the brand was established in 2009, it attracted small-batch orders thanks to its striking single-seater sports car prototype. The first mass-produced model, the Mono, began production in 2011. In 2012, the company moved to a new factory to expand capacity, forming a supply chain system for in-house carbon fiber part manufacturing and manual assembly. The high-performance limited edition Mono R was launched in 2019, and the third-generation Mono was unveiled the same year, with deliveries reaching over 45 countries. In 2025, BAC introduced digital design tools such as Siemens Xcelerator to improve global compliance efficiency and released the new flagship Mono and Mono Cup racing cars.

Product Portfolio

BAC's product line revolves around the Mono single model and its derivative versions, divided by model year generations.

  • MY25 Mono: The 2025 new generation flagship, with a dry weight of 570 kg. It is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, producing 311 hp and 313 Nm of torque, with a power-to-weight ratio as high as 546 hp/ton, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.

  • Mono R: A lightweight high-performance limited edition, weighing only 555 kg, with a power-to-weight ratio reaching 620 hp/ton. Its naturally aspirated engine can produce 340 to 345 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

  • Mono Cup Track Version: An ultimate pure racing car with a dry weight of only 540 kg, equipped with an FIA-certified safety fuel tank and track ABS. The guide price is £330,000.

Market Performance

BAC's annual production remains around 20 units, primarily through customized manual assembly. For example, the starting price of the MY25 Mono is approximately 2,385,000 MYR, while the Mono Cup track version has a guide price of approximately £330,000. Specific delivery volumes and revenue scales are not disclosed due to the extremely small batch size. The dealer network relies heavily on large automotive clubs and top luxury market circles in North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

Core Technology

BAC's core technical philosophy can be simply summarized as "extreme weight reduction."

  • Carbon Fiber Monocoque: A carbon fiber cabin incorporating F1 racing concepts, offering excellent rigidity and extremely low weight.

  • Powertrain: All series are equipped with a high-revving 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine developed in collaboration with Mountune, with a redline of up to 8,800 rpm.

  • Suspension and Transmission: Front and rear double wishbone independent suspension with a pushrod shock layout, combined with an F3 racing-level 6-speed sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential.

  • Aerodynamics: A closed monocoque structure with a single roof intake, a complete racing-level chassis diffuser, and a large rear wing.

Global Presence

BAC has been sold in 47 countries globally, covering major continents such as Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa. The brand plans to deeply expand into the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.) and North American markets. The Mono Cup spec series will land in the Middle East first, and branches in the US, Europe, and other regions may be established. As of mid-2026, BAC has not announced an official agent for mainland China but maintains contact with top luxury consumer groups through auto shows in Beijing, Shanghai, and other cities.

Future Outlook

From 2026 onward, the Mono Cup series will open a new stage for the brand, shifting from purely car manufacturing to a comprehensive upgrade of the racing ecosystem. At the digital upgrade level, deep cooperation with Siemens has introduced immersive XR remote custom cabin technology and a global compliance database, using a full digital solution to accelerate new car iteration. At the capital level, a three-year cross-border payment strategic agreement has been signed with Universal Partners to accelerate global revenue growth. Facing the deeper proposition of electrification, the company has not disclosed a specific timeline. However, digitalization, modularization, and customization paths will lead BAC to maintain its unique role as a pure-blood driver's brand in the next generation of driving technology.
