Brand Overview
GTA Motor was founded in Spain in 2009, its founder Domingo Ochoa has over 15 years of racing experience. GTA Motor did not build cars out of thin air; it was originally a powerhouse in Spanish racing. Therefore, the launch of the first production supercar Spano can be seen as the culmination of this team's technology, a story about "dreams coming true".
Development History
The deep roots of GTA Motor stem from its parent company Spania GTA's racing history, the latter has over 20 years of history in events such as European F3 Open. After 5 years of secret development, the first supercar Spano made a high-profile debut in its hometown Valencia in 2009, announcing to the global automotive world that Spain had joined the competition of supercars. Afterwards, GTA Motor only released an upgraded model based on Spano at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. After that, the brand fell silent, and overall operations shifted to an extremely low-profile state.
Brand Matrix: Only Supercar Spano
GTA Motor's core model is only the Spano.
Initial Spano (2009): Weighing only 1350kg, equipped with an innovative patented glass roof that can automatically adjust transparency. The engine is derived from the Dodge Viper, equipped with an 8.3-liter V10 supercharged engine, maximum horsepower 780 hp.
New Spano (2015): Powertrain fully upgraded, equipped with an 8.0-liter V10 twin-turbo engine, maximum power 938 hp, peak torque 1220 N·m, top speed up to 370 km/h.
Market Performance and Fate
GTA Motor is like a sleeping legend. The brand officially announced the global limited to 99 units, but actual production was extremely low, according to multiple reports, its actual production quantity was only around 12 units. Currently, the brand's official website has not been updated for years, overall operations have stagnated, and it can almost be considered in an indefinite dormant state. However, the actual Spano cars are still circulating in the used/collector market, in February 2026 a prototype car was sold in Paris at 850,000 Euros.
Core Technology
The most amazing thing about Spano is the combination of lightweight and rigidity. The body is made of aerospace-grade materials such as carbon fiber, titanium alloy, and Kevlar, the weight of the entire chassis frame is only 56 kg, but overall rigidity far exceeds most top supercars at that time. The V10 engine of the initial Spano can also be compatible with ethanol fuel, releasing more powerful horsepower in performance mode.
Future Outlook
GTA Motor's future is highly uncertain. Its parent company Spania GTA has recently carried out operational cooperation with brands such as Karma Automotive in the Spanish market, which may indicate that the company's strategic focus has shifted from manufacturing its own supercars to providing racing or high-end services. This brand is more like a completed dream than a continuously advancing business entity.
