The company's predecessor was AVIC Black Leopard Co., Ltd., and after multiple reorganizations, it was established in 2015 with capital from Beijing Automotive Manufacturing Works Co., Ltd. and AVIC Black Leopard, positioning itself in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of light trucks, micro cargo vehicles, engineering dump trucks, box trucks, and special vehicles. BAIC Black Leopard has over 1,300 service outlets nationwide, and its products are exported to more than ten overseas countries, having ranked first in sales volume in the domestic diesel micro small truck market segment for seven consecutive years.
Early Origins: From Machinery Factory to Complete Vehicle Manufacturing
The predecessor of the Black Leopard brand was the Shandong Wendeng Meat Machinery Factory, established in 1980. Early performance was poor, so it began utilizing existing mechanical processing equipment to subcontract cabs for Yantai Automobile Manufacturing Plant. Starting in 1988, the factory began providing complete vehicle subcontracting services for 'Songhuajiang' vans at Harbin Fei Automobile Plant, gradually accumulating complete vehicle manufacturing experience. In 1989, the factory targeted the agricultural transport vehicle track for its first self-developed model — at that time, rural construction demand was strong, and commercial vehicle licenses were easier to obtain than passenger vehicle licenses. Around 2000, Black Leopard's footprint began extending to the northeast. By establishing a joint venture with Shenyang Shuangma Company, it launched passenger car models such as Black Leopard Jiri (Traveler) SM6470. This seven-seat SUV had body dimensions 4660/1690/1690mm, equipped with a 2.2L four-cylinder gasoline engine from Shenyang Mitsubishi (102 horsepower), competing with brands like Great Wall in the market for a time. In 2011, Black Leopard entered the AVIC system, and AVIC Black Leopard Co., Ltd. was established. In 2015, BAIC Group took over, and the company was renamed BAIC Black Leopard (Weihai) Automobile Co., Ltd., and in 2017, the product brand switched from 'Black Leopard Brand' to 'Beijing Brand', while changing the product LOGO. On November 10, 2020, the strategic restructuring of Weihai Black Leopard Automobile by Shandong Heavy Industry Group was signed in Jinan, and Weihai Black Leopard was incorporated into the Shandong Heavy Industry system. 1027 Series
The sales champion model in the BAIC Black Leopard product sequence, with cumulative production and sales exceeding 300,000 units. Power covers diesel high-pressure common rail and gasoline (1.2L, 1.5L gasoline and dual-fuel) two major categories, cargo box dimensions are rich — single row box lengths have 3060mm, 3220mm and 3295mm multiple specifications, double row has 2520mm and 2595mm versions. Air conditioning, power steering, disc brakes, auxiliary transmission and radial tires can be optionally equipped.
1030 Series
Positioned as a high-capacity micro truck, adopting 6/8+4 main and auxiliary spring design, equipped with a heavy-duty 130 rear axle, with super strong load-bearing capacity. Dump Truck Series
Diesel common rail dump truck developed based on 1027 and 1030 series chassis, continuing the high-load design of main and auxiliary springs and 130 reinforced rear axle, whole vehicle height is less than 2.2 meters, can enter and exit basements flexibly, suitable for urban construction waste, sand, soil and other transportation and loading and unloading scenarios. Among them, H3 dump truck has been specially upgraded — high-strength engineering cargo box sideboard raised to 640mm, becoming a leading product among small truck dump truck models.

Painting primer adopts internationally advanced cathodic electrodeposition primer process, and topcoat selects PPG metal topcoat, greatly improving the vehicle's appearance durability and texture.
