Saudi Arabia's first homegrown car brand CEER debuts EXOBOT in sedan and SUV forms

Saudi Arabian carmaker CEER has unveiled its first production model, the EXOBOT, in both sedan and SUV body styles on 21 September local time.

The first production versions use pure-electric power and a three-motor all-wheel-drive system, with the EXOBOT First Edition producing up to 850 hp. Production will take place at CEER's manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia.

The EXOBOT First Edition uses three electric motors and all-wheel drive, with a maximum output of 850 hp. The sedan can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV takes 2.9 seconds.

Both versions use a 112 kWh battery and an 800V electrical architecture. CEER says the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

The sedan has a claimed NEDC range of up to 670 km, while the SUV can travel up to 560 km on the same test cycle.

The EXOBOT takes a distinctly futuristic approach to its exterior, with a wedge-shaped body and a pair of Shahin Wing Doors that stretch almost 3 metres long. The large gullwing-style doors are one of the most distinctive elements of the EXOBOT's design.

Despite being offered as a sedan and SUV, the two versions are based on the same modular electric platform. They share the three-motor all-wheel-drive system, 800V electrical architecture and the same suite of intelligent vehicle technology.

For context, CEER was established by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn, and is the first automotive brand established in Saudi Arabia.

The EXOBOT is the first model in its planned product line-up. CEER says it plans to introduce more models in different sizes and with different powertrains, eventually building a seven-model range by 2030.

Production of both the EXOBOT sedan and SUV is planned at CEER's manufacturing plant in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia.

The launch gives Saudi Arabia a new entry into the passenger-car market as the country continues to develop its domestic automotive manufacturing industry.

CEER has not yet announced whether the EXOBOT will be exported to other overseas markets.
