Priced from HK$579,700! All-New Lexus ES launched in Hong Kong with three variants

Lexus has revealed pricing for the all-new ES in Hong Kong, with three variants available from HK$579,700.

The ES 350h hybrid is priced at HK$579,700, while the two fully electric models, the ES 350e and ES 500e, cost HK$729,125 and HK$829,100 respectively.

Lexus has also teamed up with Grand Seiko to create the The Golden Ratio Gallery, where visitors can see some of the watchmaker's high-end timepieces, including models with its Spring Drive movement.

The new ES keeps the sleek profile of its predecessor, but the styling is cleaner and more confident. The body also looks noticeably fuller, particularly from the side, although a distinctive crease through the profile helps break up the visual bulk.

The new ES is also significantly larger than the outgoing model. It measures 5,140 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall, representing increases of 165 mm, 55 mm and 115 mm respectively.

The wheelbase has grown by 80 mm to 2,950 mm.

Inside, the new ES takes a much cleaner approach. A large display now dominates the dashboard, with many of the physical controls from the previous model removed.

One of the more distinctive touches is the Bamboo Layering trim, which combines appearance of natural bamboo with advanced printing and light transmission techniques. Together with the cabin's clean, straight lines, it gives the ES a distinctly Japanese take on luxury.

Equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with Lexus Link+ connectivity and wireless Apple CarPlay.

Other features include a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, power-adjustable seats, wireless charging and the Lexus Safety System+ suite of safety and driver-assistance functions.

The new ES is available with both hybrid and fully electric powertrains.

The ES 350h uses Lexus's new sixth-generation hybrid system. Its 2.5-litre engine produces 188 PS and 235 Nm, while the electric motor adds 161 PS and 272 Nm.

The ES 350h takes 7.7 seconds to reach 100km/h, while WLTP fuel consumption is rated at 3.8–5.7 litres/100km.

The fully electric range consists of two models.

The ES 350e uses a single motor driving the front wheels, producing 224 PS and 268.6 Nm. It takes 8.0 seconds to reach 100 km/h, while its 74.7 kWh battery provides up to 510 km of WLTP range.

The ES 500e uses the same 74.7 kWh battery but has a shorter 465 km WLTP range. In return, it gets dual-motor all-wheel drive with a combined output of 342 PS, cutting the 0–100 km/h time to just 5.5 seconds.

The new ES continues to use the GA-K platform, although Lexus has made a number of changes to the chassis.

The body structure has been strengthened, and the rear suspension has been upgraded to a five-link setup. The fully electric versions also get Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS).
