Caocao Mobility Launches Driverless Robotaxi Road Testing in Hangzhou

Caocao Mobility has launched Robotaxi road testing, with no safety drivers behind the wheel. The tests are being conducted on real urban roads in Hangzhou's Binjiang District, using an operational model where ride dispatches are triggered at designated points. Operating under strict safety measures, the small-scale, controllable trial aims to validate the operational stability and service performance of fully autonomous vehicles.

The trial vehicles are fully integrated with Caocao Mobility's proprietary RAS (Remote Assistance & Safety) Platform. Serving as the digital nerve centre for the company's Robotaxi operations, the platform handles round-the-clock safety monitoring, emergency responses, and real-time remote assistance to tackle any unexpected incidents and ensure complete passenger safety.

Back in April, Caocao Mobility became the first company in Hangzhou permitted to conduct road trials for driverless intelligent connected vehicles. The group has since deployed a fleet of around 100 Robotaxis across Hangzhou. The city has also seen the rollout of the world's first "Green Intelligent Transit Island", a dedicated hub integrating automated battery swapping, self-cleaning, and vehicle maintenance, to provide seamless operational support for large-scale fleets.

As the commercial driving force behind Geely Holding Group's RoboX intelligent driving strategy, Caocao Mobility is steadily growing its autonomous ride-hailing footprint through a three-pronged business model combining purpose-built smart vehicles, intelligent driving technology, and smart operations. The company is now executing a phased business upgrade, progressively transitioning from a model with safety drivers to fully autonomous, driverless operations.

Furthermore, the Eva Cab, China's first purpose-built Robotaxi co-developed by Caocao Mobility, has been officially unveiled, with mass production expected for 2027. With an intelligent, purpose-built design, the new vehicle is set to help accelerate the Group's deployment of large-scale autonomous taxi commercial services worldwide.

Looking ahead, Caocao Mobility will continue to test and optimise its autonomous driving technology across more cities and complex road scenarios, while further strengthening its safety assurance system and intelligent operational capabilities. Leveraging its established mobility service network and extensive operational expertise, the company aims to accelerate the transition of Robotaxis from technology trials to large-scale commercial deployment.

At the same time, through its RoboX strategy, Caocao Mobility will deepen the integration of intelligent driving technologies with the mobility service ecosystem, building a globally leading intelligent mobility technology platform.
