All-New Nissan Elgrand Launches in Japan: Luxury 7-Seater MPV Heading to Hong Kong

Nissan launched the next-generation Elgrand luxury 7-seater MPV on 16 July. The new model made its debut at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show and previously made its first appearance outside Japan right here in Hong Kong. Officially on sale now, the Japanese market offers two 4WD variants: the X e-4ORCE priced at 6,897,000 yen, and the G e-4ORCE at 7,579,000 yen. According to previous reports, the indicative price for the Hong Kong market is HK$880,000, with sales expected to begin by the end of the year.

Minimalist Design Meets Traditional Craftsmanship

The Elgrand's front grille and taillight clusters feature traditional Japanese "Kumiko" woodwork patterns, exuding a unique and elegant Eastern charm. The lightweight wheels boast a refined finish that delivers a delicate texture rarely seen on conventional alloy wheels, ensuring a highly cohesive design language across the entire vehicle.

Luxury Cabin: Upgrades in Space and Premium Tactility

The Elgrand's seats are upholstered in premium bespoke fabrics, available in three exclusive colour schemes. Beyond the entry-level dark trim, higher-spec models offer "Ginsetsu" (Silver Snow), which evokes the serene twilight after snowfall, and "Shitan" (Rosewood), a refined blend of purple and blue tones that exudes sophistication, adding rich layers of texture.

The cabin is significantly more spacious than its predecessor. Paired with a theatre-style tiered seating layout and large windows on the sliding doors, passengers from the first to the third row enjoy an incredibly airy and open feel. The entire cabin is equipped with zero-gravity seats, with the second row offering generous space that allows adults to adjust their posture with ease. The front passenger seat and both second-row seats support simultaneous deployment of ottomans, ensuring absolute comfort on long journeys.

Enhanced Practicality for Commuting and Outdoor Getaways

The centre console is equipped with a wireless fast charger supporting the latest Qi 2.0 standard, capable of charging two smartphones simultaneously. The rear cabin features a large-capacity storage bin for tissue boxes and other items. The vehicle also comes with three 100V AC, 1,500W power outlets, which are ideal for running appliances outdoors or serving as emergency backup power during unexpected outages.

The rear power sliding doors feature dedicated steps for easy ingress and egress, allowing children to board effortlessly without having to step up too high. Complemented by large grab handles, it is highly accessible for passengers of all ages. The sliding doors also feature a new "half-open" mode, which effectively prevents rain from entering the cabin when boarding or loading luggage on wet days—an incredibly practical touch.

The third-row seats employ a multi-functional folding mechanism that tips both forward and backward, allowing flexible configurations to balance passenger comfort with boot space. Besides the conventional button at the centre of the tailgate, new power tailgate switches are now positioned on both D-pillars. This allows users to easily adjust and set the tailgate's opening height even in tight parking spaces, making loading and unloading luggage far more convenient.

All-New Powertrain and Chassis: Refined Ride Comfort Meets Driving Dynamics

The Elgrand utilises an improved high-rigidity body structure, with soundproofing optimised throughout the vehicle to effectively isolate road and wind noise. The upgraded e-4ORCE electric 4WD system suppresses body pitch during acceleration and deceleration. When cornering, the rear motor intelligently distributes torque for smoother and more stable steering. Working alongside the adaptive variable damping suspension, it minimises body roll to deliver a vastly superior ride quality.

The vehicle features an intelligent braking control system that eliminates vehicle pitching just before coming to a halt, ensuring a silky-smooth stop. The world-first dual active noise cancellation technology actively suppresses both engine and road noise, achieving class-leading cabin refinement.

The all-new Elgrand is equipped with the upgraded ProPILOT intelligent driving assistance system. High-spec variants come standard with hands-off traffic jam assist, navigation-linked route guidance, and active lane change assist, allowing hands-free operation during low-speed traffic congestion to greatly reduce fatigue on long commutes. It also features a memory-based intelligent parking system, which automates steering, throttle, braking, and parking maneuvers at the touch of a button.

The onboard NissanConnect system features a built-in Google ecosystem with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store, providing seamless connectivity, entertainment, and navigation. The system also supports smartphone remote alerts, notifying owners if they forget to lock the doors, close the windows, or switch off the lights. In the event of abnormal vehicle vibrations, it automatically captures photos of the surroundings and sends push notifications.
