Epicland Unveils "Tianqiong Smart Shield" Safety Architecture, Fully Powered by Huawei ADS 5

Epicland has officially launched its new standardised vehicle body safety architecture, the Tianqiong Smart Shield. This architecture achieves comprehensive, deep synergy with Huawei's ADS 5, delivering a technical breakthrough across three core pillars: a whole-system approach, full-time domain coverage, and full-dimensional protection.

The core highlight of the "Tianqiong Smart Shield" lies in its deep integration with Huawei's ADS 5 platform, spanning six dimensions: intelligent driving safety, active safety, passive safety, battery safety, rescue, and cabin health. Together, these elements form a flawlessly closed-loop protection framework across the entire vehicle lifecycle.

Compared to traditional vehicle safety methodologies, this new architecture achieves a generation leap across three distinct horizons:

  • Systemic Integration: Shifting from the fragmented optimisation of isolated components to a holistic technical breakthrough across the entire platform.
  • Full-Time Domain Coverage: Moving from purely reactive defence during a collision to a comprehensive process spanning pre-collision prevention, in-collision protection, and post-collision rescue.
  • Full-Dimensional Protection: Evolving from single-dimensional physical body shielding to scenario-based safety fusion protection.

In terms of intelligent driving, the architecture leverages the Huawei ADS platform, which has undergone rigorous validation with over 12 billion kilometres of assisted driving mileage, ensuring stability across massive scenario variables. The active safety framework is anchored by the CAS 5.0 six-dimensional collision avoidance system, which significantly reduces real-world impact risks.

For passive body structure safety, Epicland's flagship model—the X9—boasts an exceptionally robust material composition, with high-strength steel and aluminium alloy accounting for over 92% of the total vehicle structure. The critical B-pillar utilises 2,400 MPa hot-formed ultra-high-strength steel, offering a tensile strength 20% higher than the mainstream industry standard. During an official livestreamed "electric hammer impact test", this ultra-high-strength steel plate demonstrated near-zero deformation and zero damage under high-intensity impact, showcasing exceptional rigidity.

Furthermore, the vehicle structure incorporates 2,300 MPa ultra-high-strength steel door rings, 2,300 MPa hot-formed expansion tube anti-collision beams within the A-pillar, and matching ultra-high-strength beams inside the doors. A dedicated anti-puncture steel plate is also installed for the third-row seating, linking multiple high-rigidity components to construct a robust protective cell for the cabin.

Regarding energy storage safety, the Epicland X9 establishes a multi-layered defence system defined by external shielding and internal thermal isolation. The vehicle perimeter is reinforced with dedicated anti-collision beams and aluminium alloy sill panels to absorb impacts from all directions. The chassis features an industry-first, three-layer bulletproof-grade protective armour, with impact resistance exceeding Hong Kong and international general standards by more than three times. Aeronautical-grade aerogel insulation is comprehensively deployed between the battery cells to mitigate thermal runaway at the source and eliminate propagation.

For post-accident rescue, the platform integrates comprehensive electrical redundancies. The vehicle’s supercapacitor is isolated within the safest, central zone of the body structure. In the event that a collision causes the primary low-voltage battery to fail, the supercapacitor immediately supplies backup power to ensure electronic doors and flush door handles actuate normally.

Concurrently, upon detecting an impact, the vehicle system automatically deploys an emergency handling guide on the central display to assist occupants. The system immediately initiates a remote SOS distress call, precisely synchronising the vehicle's telemetry and location data to the backend network to automatically dispatch local emergency services, capitalising on the critical golden rescue window.

During the livestream, Epicland Chairman Wang Junjun emphasised that safety remains the brand's core philosophy. Epicland is committed to confronting technical challenges without compromise and investing heavily in research, development, and production costs to deploy premium protection technologies across its vehicles, providing consumers with ultimate safety assurance.
