Dongfeng's eπ brand has officially opened pre-sales for its flagship model, the M8, in China's Mainland. Available in both pure electric and extended-range variants, the M8 is among the first vehicles to feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 Pro intelligent driving system.

The eπ M8 embodies the brand's design philosophy of "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication", featuring a minimalist and premium exterior. The front fascia utilises a split headlight design: a popular full-width light bar sits at the top, while the lower cluster merges seamlessly with a through-type grille to visually widen the vehicle's stance. Additionally, the lower light assembly includes a dedicated blue indicator for intelligent driving features.

A roof-mounted LiDAR module works in tandem with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro system to comprehensively upgrade autonomous driving capabilities. Five exterior colour options are available: Misty Purple, Distant Mountain Blue, Moonlight Silver, Frost White, and Obsidian Black.

The side profile adopts the industry-standard floating-roof design with smooth, aerodynamic lines. Semi-hidden door handles strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Dimensionally, the M8 measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,733 mm in height, with a 3,025 mm wheelbase. It comes standard with a spacious six-seat layout, offering generous interior space. The rear also features a full-width taillight design, ensuring a cohesive appearance and excellent visibility at night.

The interior is defined by minimalist luxury, intelligent interaction, and a spacious six-seat configuration. Extensive use of soft-touch materials combined with a multi-screen interconnect system creates a high-end atmosphere suitable for both family life and daily commuting. The model adopts a classic 2+2+2 six-seat layout, providing flexible and practical space allocation.
Key amenities are comprehensive, including a 50-inch AR-HUD, a bidirectional smart climate-controlled storage compartment, a full air-replacement fresh air system, dual first-class seats, a dual-view large screen, and a velvet-lined sunroof, all designed to elevate passenger comfort.

In terms of intelligent driving hardware, the eπ M8 is equipped with the Huawei Limera in-cabin laser vision solution, which adopts a fully solid-state LiDAR architecture. Immune to contamination from vehicle dirt, it significantly improves detection of small road targets, thereby enhancing overall driving safety.

The vehicle introduces the industry's first 16,000-ton integrated die-cast battery pack, co-developed with CATL and named the Golden Shield Battery. Built on an 800V high-voltage platform with 4C ultra-fast charging technology, it offers exceptional charging efficiency, replenishing from 30% to 80% in just 17 minutes. The battery utilises a 120Ah prismatic cell packaging design to provide all-weather safety protection.
Powertrain options include a pure electric version built on an 800V high-voltage platform with a CLTC-rated range of 600 km. The extended-range version features a Mach Power 1.5T range extender and also supports 4C ultra-fast charging. It delivers a CLTC pure-electric range of 300 km and a total combined range of up to 1,281 km, perfectly balancing daily electric commuting with long-distance travel needs.
