According to foreign media reports, the all-new BMW X5 is expected to make its global debut on 30 June. The new generation will be offered in petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants. BMW also plans to introduce a hydrogen fuel cell version by 2028, providing an exceptionally comprehensive range of powertrain options.

Although BMW has not yet released official exterior images, heavily camouflaged test mules have already been spotted. This new generation adopts the brand's Neue Klasse design philosophy, emphasising a cleaner and more minimalist aesthetic. The vehicle features flush door handles, resulting in smoother and more fluid side profiles.

These newly designed flush door handles not only enhance visual refinement but also improve aerodynamic performance. For the iX5 — the first fully electric version in the model's history — this significantly boosts energy efficiency and practicality.

The all-electric iX5 is one of the key upgrades for this generation. It will be equipped with the largest battery pack in BMW's current lineup, offering a usable capacity of 141 kWh in the European version and up to 144 kWh in the US specification, promising strong range performance.

According to production plans, the all-new X5 (internal codename G65) will begin production in August 2026. Petrol, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants will launch first, with additional derivative models following throughout 2027. All powertrain versions will share a common body structure and suspension mounting points. The interior will follow the standards set by the new iX3, ensuring consistent quality and a comprehensive upgrade across the lineup.
