At this year's Hong Kong Auto Expo, BYD showcased the M9 MPV, which corresponds to the BYD Xia for the Chinese mainland. This model has already been launched in several right-hand drive markets.

In terms of design, the M9 retains the classic luxury business MPV style. BYD stated that it has integrated the "landscape and artistic conception" into the new vehicle's design. Features such as the dragon beard design and eagle-brow headlights clearly reflect BYD's signature family styling.

Viewed from the side, the new car boasts a boxy shape. The body line runs straight across the entire vehicle, adding a touch of elegance, while the rear is relatively simple, featuring a streamlined taillight design that is both steady and grand. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm.

The cabin draws inspiration from the "Four Waters Return to the Hall" layout found in traditional Chinese courtyard design. This symbolizes the gathering of waters from all directions, representing the convergence of wealth and fortune. It incorporates numerous Chinese cultural elements such as the Wudian roof from traditional Chinese buildings, wide sleeves, and Chinese knots. However, more eye-catching than these design concepts are the three large screens on the center console: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating central screen, and a 12.3-inch passenger-side entertainment screen.

Regarding equipment, the M9 is well-equipped, offering leather power-adjustable seats, middle-row seat massage functions, third-row power-folding seats, a digital rearview mirror, an in-car refrigerator, 50W wireless charging, AR projection-based tailgate opening, and remote APP control, among others.

Regarding powertrain, the M9 is equipped with a DM-i plug-in hybrid system. The 1.5T engine produces a maximum power of 156 hp, while the motor delivers a maximum power of 272 hp. The 20.39 kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery provides a CLTC range of 100 km. With a full battery and full fuel tank, the combined range reaches 1,000 km.
