2026 Hong Kong Auto Expo: Leapmotor B05 Makes Hong Kong Debut with European Flair, Early Bird Price at HK$239,900

At this year's Hong Kong International Auto Expo, Leapmotor officially introduced its all-new hatchback, the B05. The model is priced at HK$249,900, with an early bird intent price of HK$239,900. Previously launched in Europe, the B05 is the Hong Kong version of the model known as the Lafa5 in China's mainland.

The B05 adopts a fresh, modern design language. The front features a closed grille paired with a layered strip-style daytime running light that creates a strong visual impact when illuminated. A black sports front bumper lip and muscular hood lines further enhance its sporty character. The vehicle is equipped with an Active Grille Shutter (AGS) for improved aerodynamics.

The side profile showcases smooth, flowing lines, complemented by frameless doors, hidden door handles, and black B-pillars that create a striking appearance. The B05 measures 4,430mm in length, 1,880mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735mm.

At the rear, the minimalist design is highlighted by a signature full-width taillight strip. A large glossy black trim section and a sporty diffuser complete the dynamic look.

The cabin embraces a minimalist, technology-focused layout. All variants feature matte gunmetal electroplated trim pieces. Key highlights include a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster, paired with a dual-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a lever-style gear selector, creating a strong futuristic atmosphere.

The seats are meticulously designed: standard versions feature distinctive perforated patterns, while higher-spec models use a combination of genuine leather and suede-like materials for a sporty, racing-inspired feel. The headliner also bears an exclusive model-specific emblem.

In terms of configuration, the B05 comes equipped with a 12-speaker audio system, voice recognition, a 360-degree panoramic camera, Leapmotor Pilot advanced driver assistance system, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and rear air conditioning.

Practicality is another strong point. The front seats offer multi-angle electric adjustment and a flat-reclining function. The centre console adopts an open storage design with multiple compartments for added convenience. Rear-seat legroom and overall space also surpass many competitors in the same class.

The B05 is powered by a rear-mounted oil-cooled electric motor producing a maximum output of 160kW. With a balanced 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution and chassis tuning by a European engineering team, it offers an excellent balance between handling and comfort.

The vehicle utilises CTC 2.0 battery-chassis integration technology and is equipped with a 67.1kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a WLTP range of 482km. Under fast-charging conditions, the battery can be replenished from 30% to 80% in approximately 17 minutes.
