MG Unveils Teaser of All-New Electric Hot Hatch; Production Version to Launch Next Year

MG recently released new teaser images of its upcoming all-new hatchback electric vehicle, showcasing the front and rear styling. The new model adopts a completely fresh design language, offering a distinct look compared to the brand's recent releases such as the 4 EV Urban and S5 EV, presenting a revitalized appearance.

MG officially confirmed that this concept car will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, with the production version scheduled to launch next year. The vehicle is expected to be named the MG 2.

David Allison, a senior executive at MG UK, stated last year during an interview that the compact electric vehicle segment is a key focus area for the brand's future strategy and represents the most logical direction for development.

He also noted that MG has adjusted its brand positioning in recent years, moving away from exclusively targeting the lowest price points in its class and instead focusing on delivering "exceptional value for money." He pointed out that other brands are already dominating the ultra-budget market, such as Dacia Spring and Leapmotor models; this segment is not the target audience for MG, and the brand will not enter into competition in that arena.
