According to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association, the Tesla Gigafactory in Shanghai delivered more than 85,000 vehicles in May, setting a new single-month record for 2026, representing a 39.4% year-on-year increase and an 8% month-on-month rise. The Shanghai facility serves as Tesla's primary global export hub, accounting for over half of the group's total vehicle deliveries, primarily supplying the Asia-Pacific and European markets.

Tesla's sales performance has been outstanding across multiple Southeast Asian markets. Thailand recorded the highest number of new luxury electric vehicle registrations in the first quarter, while South Korea saw Tesla's imports take the top spot in April's overall import vehicle sales rankings. Singapore welcomed its 100,000th Tesla owner, and in Macau, Tesla secured the electric vehicle sales championship for the fourth consecutive month in April, with the Model Y exclusively occupying the top position in local EV sales. In Hong Kong, Tesla has maintained its position as the leading electric vehicle brand for the year so far. The company has recently launched the six-seater luxury SUV, the Model Y L, which is now being delivered to various Asia-Pacific regions including Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.

In mainland China, Tesla has introduced limited-time purchase incentives. Orders placed before June 30 will qualify for a five-year interest-free loan, in addition to one-to-five-year low-interest installment plans. A new "Easy Loan" program has been launched, featuring low down payments, low monthly installments, low interest rates, and a low balloon payment option. The vehicle also boasts strong resale value. Furthermore, four exclusive charging promotions have been introduced, including three affordable home charging products and a Supercharger package offering 2,300 kWh of electricity for 1,299 yuan.

Additionally, the production lines for the Model S and Model X currently manufactured in mainland China will be reconfigured and relocated within four months to become dedicated assembly lines for robots, with a planned annual capacity of one million units. Tesla's Supercharger network is now open to non-Tesla vehicle owners, with electricity rates as low as 1.5 yuan per kWh. Across mainland China, over 1,000 Supercharger stations and more than 400 destination charging stations are available nationwide, with charging piles delivering a maximum output of 250kW and an equipment availability rate of up to 99.95%.
