BYD Announces May Latest Sales Data: Overseas Sales Surpass 160,000 Units

Leading Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD recently released its latest vehicle sales figures for May 2026, achieving another outstanding performance overall, with particularly strong momentum in the overseas market.

Data shows that BYD's total vehicle sales in May reached 383,453 units, of which passenger car sales amounted to 376,990 units. The brand's single-month overseas sales officially exceeded 160,000 units, highlighting the effectiveness of its global layout strategy. Meanwhile, BYD's cumulative NEV sales have surpassed 16.5 million units, solidifying its position as the global leader in the new energy vehicle sector.

Each of its high-end and mainstream brands delivered standout results in May. The detailed sales breakdown is as follows: the mainstream Dynasty and Ocean networks together sold 330,215 units; the personalized off-road brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 30,186 units; the premium joint venture brand Denza recorded 16,303 units in sales; and the ultra-luxury brand Yangwang delivered 286 units, demonstrating the gradual realization of its high-end product lineup.

For the first five months of the year, BYD Group's cumulative sales totaled 1,405,039 units, including passenger cars and pickup trucks. Overseas cumulative sales reached a high of 614,470 units, reflecting that the brand not only maintains a strong position in the Chinese domestic market but that its overseas export business has also become a core growth driver, with its international influence continuing to expand.
