The 30th Greater Bay Area Auto Show of 2026 officially opened on May 29, where Leapmotor's all-new D99 model unveiled its interior design for the first time. According to official information, the Leapmotor D99 is scheduled to go on sale mid-year this year. It remains unknown whether it will be introduced to the local market.

The highlight of this new vehicle is the industry's first cabin-integrated central domain control system, paired with a terminal-side large model intelligent cockpit, delivering a comprehensive upgrade in intelligence. The interior centre console adopts a minimalist design aesthetic, equipped with a liquid crystal instrument cluster, a large floating central control screen, an HUD head-up display, and a rear ceiling entertainment screen, comprehensively enhancing the in-car audio-visual experience. At the same time, the new car also debuts an industry-first 1280 TOPS dual 8797 chip. Its powerful computing performance lays a solid foundation for smooth intelligent interaction and assisted driving functions, making its smart performance highly anticipated.

Spatial flexibility is the core advantage of the Leapmotor D99. The interior supports multiple space transformation modes, offering extremely high practicality. Cabin seats can be folded into various configurations to lie flat, including full flat-folding of the first and second rows, 180-degree folding of the third row, and folding of both second and third rows. Notably, the third row features a dedicated fishing mode, adapting to diverse leisure scenarios. The cargo area employs a recessed storage design, enabling a completely flat space and significantly improving interior space utilization.

Regarding seat configuration, the new vehicle is equipped with second-row rotatable reverse zero-gravity airline seats, supporting a 90-degree view mode and enabling a face-to-face seating layout between the second and third rows. A dedicated large tableboard is also installed inside the cabin, making it highly convenient for travel rest or short-distance business discussions.

Other interior and smart configurations are equally rich. The new car features an openable sunroof and a through-type ring-shaped ambient lighting strip, creating a comfortable and high-end in-car atmosphere. In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with a VLA large model assisted driving system, providing smarter and safer assistance during the driving process.

The exterior design of the Leapmotor D99 follows a simple and smooth style, featuring an overall rounded bullet-shaped body. Paired with highly recognizable split headlamps, it establishes a distinctive family styling. The main light source at the lower part of the front adopts a near-square design, while the upper through-type light strip features a zigzag treatment on both sides, creating a strong sense of layering. The manufacturer revealed that the new vehicle is equipped with million-pixel DLP projection headlamps, delivering superior illumination effects. A total of five color options are available: Photoelectric White, Liquid Silver, Chenshan Blue, Sky Canopy Grey, and Metallic Black, offering a wide selection.

The side profile features smooth and elegant lines, with a silver trim outlining the sleek roof arch. The trim is thickened and reinforced at the D-pillar position to enhance the three-dimensional feel. The sliding door tracks are hidden below the third-row glass, giving the exterior a cleaner and simpler look. The area above the window frames is uniformly finished in black, combined with glossy chrome large wheel rims, significantly enhancing overall texture and luxury appeal. The new vehicle is equipped with a massive sunroof measuring 1.46 square meters, with UV blockage exceeding 99.9%, delivering excellent heat insulation and sun protection performance.

The rear design continues the simple and rounded style. The through-type taillights connect with the rear window, creating a seamless visual effect. Below the taillights, the Leapmotor English brand logo "LEAPMOTOR" is embedded, adding a touch of quality. Additionally, the taillights support ISD intelligent interactive light display functionality, combining aesthetics with practicality. The entire rear features no unnecessary or complex lines; the clean and crisp design aligns with the aesthetic trends of mainstream luxury MPVs.

Regarding powertrain configuration, the Leapmotor D99 offers both extended-range and pure electric versions to cater to different user travel needs. The extended-range version is equipped with the industry's first dual-energy motor four-wheel-drive extended-range system and an 800V high-voltage extended-range platform. It adopts extended-range CTC battery chassis integration technology, paired with an 80.3kWh large-capacity battery pack, ensuring balanced range and performance. The pure electric version features a full-stack 1000V three-electric system and debuts CATL's 115kWh super hybrid cells. With industry-leading three-electric technology, its energy consumption and top-speed performance are highly anticipated.
