Onvo L80 Pre-sale Starts April 28: Smart Dual-Cabin Flagship with 2,840L Storage

Onvo has officially announced that its all-new flagship SUV, the Onvo L80, will hold its product technology launch on April 28, with pre-orders commencing simultaneously. Positioned as a “smart dual-cabin large five-seat flagship SUV,” the L80 offers up to 2,840 litres of total storage space, making it the five-seat SUV with the largest cargo capacity in China. William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of Nio, stated at the Beijing Auto Show that the L80 will comprehensively redefine the five-seat SUV experience and accelerate the segment‘s transition to pure electric vehicles.

Class-Leading Storage Space

The L80’s storage system is its most outstanding feature. A 240-litre front trunk—the largest among mass-produced vehicles in China—can accommodate two 20-inch suitcases, a children‘s suitcase and a backpack. Under normal conditions, the rear trunk offers 1,200 litres of capacity. When the second-row seats are fully folded, the space expands to 2,600 litres with a depth of 2.2 metres, easily accommodating a 1.9-metre mattress. The trunk also features a dual-sunken storage area (106 litres on the outer side and 63 litres on the inner side), while 53 independent storage compartments are distributed throughout the cabin (13 in the front row, 17 in the second row).

Flagship Dimensions

By eliminating the third-row seats, the L80 dedicates all interior space to the front occupants and cargo. It measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,766 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. With a 60.4% length-to-wheelbase ratio and 81.5% space utilisation efficiency, it breaks the traditional SUV logic of “stacking dimensions to gain space.” Rear legroom exceeds one metre, and the second-row seats slide laterally by 8 centimetres to adjust between comfort and flexibility.

NT3.0 Platform and 900V Architecture

Built on Nio’s NT3.0 platform, the L80 features a full-stack 900V high-voltage architecture and comes standard with an 85 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 550 to 605 kilometres. The vehicle supports both ultra-fast charging and Nio‘s battery-swapping network, with access to over 3,500 swap stations nationwide, enabling a full recharge in just three minutes. Powertrain options include a rear‑drive version with Nio ET9’s 340 kW motor and an all‑wheel‑drive version with a combined 440 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds. Adaptive air suspension is standard across all variants.

Smart Cockpit

The L80 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip, a 35‑inch AR‑HUD and a 17.2‑inch 3K centre display running the Coconut 2.0.0 system. The voice assistant is capable of multi‑scene intelligent interactions. For driver assistance, the vehicle uses seven 8‑megapixel cameras and an NVIDIA Orin‑X chip, supporting highway and urban NOA functions, with an optional roof‑mounted LiDAR.

Design and Outlook

Styled by former Bentley designer Raul Pires, the L80 continues the Onvo family design language established with the L90. The front features a large closed grille with split headlights supporting smart interactive functions such as customisable welcome lighting. The Onvo L80 is a key component of the brand’s “flagship twin‑star” strategy, joining the newly launched six‑ and seven‑seat L90. With its industry‑leading storage capacity, premium dimensions, advanced 900V architecture and comprehensive smart features... For Hong Kong family buyers, this model is well worth watching. More details will follow after the official pre‑sale launch.
